The reason why Dumaguete and even Dauin feel much hotter than Metro Manila is because of humidity as they are both very close to the sea, but remember when you all went up to the highlands going to the areas around Mount Talinis like Zamboanguita, the air was much cooler? Those are the differences which are also the same in almost all parts of the Philippines.

I've been studying and living here in South Korea for almost 3 years already. As a Filipino that experienced Christmas and New Year in South Korea in my first year in Korea, I can say that it was really boring for me. I tried to light a firework once in our university and I got scolded. That time, I have nothing to hear but forest sounds and still quietness. That's why from that time, I decided to spend every Christmas and New Year in the Philippines because we really do celebrate those holidays in a very unique and memorable way.

I remember my uncle, youngest bro of my mom, he was a PEFTOK veteran in Korean war, during his time, a bachelor then, he was at war then & he saw many orphan kids begging for food, crying, he even save half of his ration for those kids, empathy that he wants to adopt one particular baby kid about 5 or 6yo, which he gifted his harmonica to that smiling toddler. My uncle was a bachelor then, at war fighting & never have plans to be a familyman, besides he is fighting & he don't want to complicate the life of that poor korean orphan boy. By the way that boy he thought how to cook rice, reheat a canned food & make fire by wool & stone, he thought him some survival skills. My uncle later had been married & long passed gone, but that boy was always at the back of his mind b4 he passed year2010. He is one of my loving uncle, also our family hero 🇵🇭🇰🇷🧡🙏

In our home, we always use Jasmine Rice and Denorado Rice. btw, you guys can just ask the contact number of the water station near your house and you can text/call them for water delivery to your house, they will pick-up the empty water bottle from your house and they will deliver the refilled water.

Next time if you want to experienced Christmas here in the Philippines, you should decorate the house where you stayed, put Christmas tree,Christmas lantern or parol in tagalog, nativity or belen in tagalog, Christmas lights, Christmas decorations and if you want to feel new year celebration here you should try to have at least lusis in tagalog, trumpet or torotot in tagalog, you can buy it at the market or mall when new year celebration comes 😊
