Manila is a Port City thus it has perhaps one of the most beautiful sunset in the world. It has intramuros which is the only walled city in all of South East Asia. It has Binondo which is the oldest china town in the world. It has Korea town that you can't find in any capital cities in South East Asia. There's Ayala Museum where you can find the gold of our ancestors and it's the largest collection of archaeological gold in all of South East Asia and perhaps even in Asia as a whole because the Philippines during the ancient times is known as the isles of gold. If Bangkok has tuktuk manila has jeepneys. I have to say tho that TH street foods are way better than the street foods that we have here. Manila has beautiful business districts in all of South East Asia I have to say. We might not have iconic towers but you'll see that our CBDs are way better. I'm saying this because I'm a traveller myself. Another thing Manila has huge malls Infact, 3 of the largest malls in the world are can be found in Manila. It's the education hub of Asia rivaling Kuala Lumpur. Manila is the BPO center of the world. There are so many things to say about Manila but of course Manila has negative sides too just like any big cities but one thing is sure... Manila is such a great city.

The original Manila is a colonial setting one but the modern Manila is becoming a globally commercialized one. Some people think Manila is dangerous and risky place but on contrary it's socially chaotic with dysfunctional communities with a loads of fun and celebrations. Manila is seems underrated to tourist but is welcoming to visitors. Chaotic but lovely Manila of all seasons✌✌✌
When in the city of Manila, go at the following: 1. National Museums (Allot at least a day to visit these museums, you will almost visit the whole Philippines going here.) 1.1 National Museum of Fine Arts 1.2 National Museum of Natural History 1.3 Museum of Anthropology 2. Rizal Park 3. Intramuros 4. Binondo (oldest China Town) 5. SM MOA, sunset at the bay
The grand heritage buildings, the beautiful parks and gardens, the bridges, the delicious food, the prestigious universities and of course the intelligent Filipinos are in Manila.

Bangkok and Manila are basically like sister cities. They're alike but not quite so. I guess Manila is the big surprised in Asia because the city is sooo westernized like you'll see English signs everywhere and people can speak English too and it's something noteworthy about Manila and the Philippines in general. Manila is such a huge City, a megapolis composed of 17 highly urbanized cities. It has several business districts scattered around in clusters. If Bangkok has temples Manila has aged old stone churches. It's dynamic, chaotic, old, new, loud, crazy... A melting pot of different culture and a truly cosmopolitan city. It's architectures are can be liken to those in Latin America and the west but the irony is it's an Asian city in an Asian setting. Manila is old and way way old than one can imagine but we Filipinos simply call it "the city of our affection" FYI Manila this 2022 ranked 34th best in 53 best cities of the world and its way ahead of Bangkok, Hongkong, Singapore, Athens, and even Dubai
@@charlesjosephdiputado804 such a crab mentality? It's an international ranking buddy so be happy. Is tourism the only basis to know if a city is best? Well, I'm glad that the ranking tells something more other than tourism. Manila is one of the best and it's a fact. Real talk!!!

For me its the contrast of modernity and culture. Recommended places are: BGC, Taguig City Makati City Ortigas District Manila City (the Capital) Pasay City ++ various malls and amusement parks Intramuros Sto. Tomas University (Oldest University in Asia) Manila Chinatown (Oldest in the World) ++ Musuems
The San Agustin Church just a few meters away from the Cathedral is older and the same structure since the 16th century. The Cathedral has been rebuilt several times. Across the river on the way to Malacanang is san Sebastian church, erected in the 19th century on prefab steel parts from Belgium. Many other Spanish era churches in the area.
Manila is so diverse. There's an old Spanish city with it's beautiful catholic cathedrals, there's also a new ultra modern city like the BGC, aseana city, eastwood city that you can and off course the beautiful, friendly english speaking people. For for tourist. Language is not a proble everything written in english and the food of course.
As I always say, our best import is the people.Yes we do have beautiful beaches, big malls but definitely Filipino people are our best representation of this country. We are just so welcoming to anyone.

🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭, 🇵🇭 Mabuhay! (pronounced Mabu HIGH) Welcome to Manila 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 Manila (endonym Maynila) is a huge city. Technically it's called Metro Manila and is composed of 16 cities so it is huge. In this guide I will only cover only 3 of the 16 cities because these 3 are the most popular, namely Taguig, Makati and Manila proper). Note that most of the establishments here are cash basis only. So when you withdraw your money I strongly suggest that you go to a nearby bank (usually where the ATM is) and have your money broken by 100 peso bills and coins (the next bigger bill after 100 is 500 and is considered a lot already so have your money broken by 100 peso bills) . Here are suggestions on where to go in Manila. I've compiled a list of suggested places to go to in Manila grouped by three areas 1. MANILA BAY AREA. which is along Roxas Boulevard (pronounced Rohas) 2. MODERN MANILA (TAGUIG/MAKATI CITIES) 3. OLD MANILA AREA (MANILA CITY PROPER) Highly suggested places are denoted by a star ******************** MANILA BAY AREA ******************** 1. 🌟 SM MALL OF ASIA (suggested activities go back at the complex where you can find "SM BY THE BAY", this is a large outdoor area where you can find rides and restaurants. I recommend watching the world famous Manila Bay sunset from either the ferris wheel or by having a drink or two from the nearby Conrad Hotel roofdeck, , try any of the many rides there too. If you have time try to watch a movie here too tickets are way cheaper than in the US and movshown the same time as in the US Note that you can bring in fast food that you've bought from the outside. 2. 🌟 AYALA MALLS MANILA BAY it's a relatively new mall and it's very beautiful 3. 🌟 OKADA HOTEL AND CASINO opulent hotel /casino like a fantasy Japanese fairy land then watch the dancing lights show in the evening. Note that there are fast food inside the hotel like Jolibee and Burger King so you can dine there if you are on a budget. The Philippines is also known for having excellent buffets but of these two are recommended Vikings and Spirals albeit Spirals is more expensive because of the sheer vast array of international cuisine offered there. ************************************************* SUGGESTED BUFFETS IN MANILA BAY AREA ************************************************ 4. VIKINGS BUFFET at the back of SM (MOA) 5. 🌟 SPIRALS BUFFET at Sofitel (arguably the best buffet in the world just watch the RU-vid post from SIMPLY DUMPLINGS YT channel ************************* TAGUIG MAKATI AREA ************************* 1. BGC (go to Bonifacio High Street and get coffee or doughnut while enjoying the sights) 2. UPTOWN MALL (get a good men's haircut at Brunos inside the mall go to the food court, Pepper Steak is highly recommended, you can also find Tim Horton's and Shake Shack downstairs) 3. 🌟 MERCATO CENTRALE NIGHT MARKET (Manila's best night street food market) ADDRESS 25th Street corner 7th Avenue (vacant lot, with astronaut mural), Bonifacio Global City, 1634 Taguig, Philippine SCHEDULE Wednesday to Saturday 6PM to 3AM 4. VENICE GRAND CANAL MALL Venice Grand Canal Mall (suggested restaurant Italianis for authentic Italian food) 5. 🌟 GREENBELT MALL (tour the garden oasis themed mall after that go cross over to number 6 6. AYALA TRIANGLE GARDENS 7. For a great weekend market try the SALCEDO or LEGASPI both in Makati (come early morning to beat the crowd and heat) 🌟 SALCEDO WEEKEND MARKET MAKATI Salcedo Village Makati Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 PM 🌟 LEGASPI WEEKEND MARKET IN MAKATI Legaspi Village Makati Sundays from 9 AM to 12 *********************** OLD MANILA AREA ********************** 1. 🌟 INTRAMUROS / Manila Cathedral / Barbara's inside Intramuros / San Agustin Church all of the above are within walking distance no need to take the rides being offered at the gate 2. 🌟 BINONDO (world's oldest Chinatown) food crawl at Binondo world's oldest Chinatown 2.1 Dumplings at Dong Bei or Wai Ying 2.2 Pata Tim, Machang, wash down with cold soya milk, cold chrysanthemum or cold winter melon drink at Mezzanine Cafe 2.3 fresh lumpia at New Pou Heng 2.4 fried sioao pronounced sho. pow 3. NATIONAL MUSEUMS National Museum of Fine Arts, Anthropology and Natural History / 4. 🌟 RIZAL PARK also known as Luneta 5. ARROCEROS FOREST PARK (a relaxing forest park beside the City Hall of Manila ********************************************* RECOMMENDED AUTHENTIC FILIPINO FOOD RESTAURANTS ******************************************** When ordering Filipino food don't be afraid to ask the waiter in how to eat food because there is a special way to eat them like Kare kare needing to be paired with a dash of bagoong or like needing a mx halo halo 1. 🌟 MAX'S RESTAURANT order their fried chicken, sisig, crispy pata, Kare Kare usually servings of 2 to 3 people so ask for their ser meal for single person because they do have food packages for single person Max's Restaurant is an institution have in having its roots immediately after World War 2 when American soldiers were looking for a place to eat and they discovered that this family serves excellent Filipino dishes. Max's restaurants are all over Manila but to be sure they are always in any one of Manila's big malls 2. ARISTOCRAT RESTAURANT along Roxas Boulevard ask for their chicken barbecue 3. 🌟 CAFE ADRIATICO MALATE MANILA In my opinion the best place to have Filipino food but you have to go to their Ermita Malate branch. You should order their adobo, beef salpicao, and finish it off with their delectable desserts such as halo halo, mango canonigo, chocolate eh and chocolate ah, death by chocolate 4. SINGING COOKS AND WAITERS along Roxas Boulevard, the whole staff provide you musical entertainment while you are dining ********************************. USEFUL TAGALOG PHRASES ******************************** Kumusta Ka? - How are you? Saan po ang (pronounced Sa An) - where is Magkano po ito? - how much is this? Hingi ng tawad kuya ate please, sige na - asking for a discount Hindi po ako marunong mag Tagalog - i dont speak Tagalog CR - CR is the Filipino word for toilet, it stands for (Comfort Room) also always being toilet paper with you although some CR in malls have a tissue dispenser where you have to drop coins Enjoy!

Hope you also went to Fort Santiago and the different Baluartes around Intramuros. Some of those places are very peaceful and beautiful. The central part of Intramuros where you're at can be a bit chaotic.
When say manila they will just refer you to manila alone but metro manila is defferent story, hehehe its a huge area to explore not only in manila, manila is just one city of metro manila, you go to makati, pasig and taguig and quezon city and pasay that is what you call part of metro manila.
Lol..😂😂😂it's not recommendable to visit Tondo especially the slum area for tourist. It's a chaotic and dysfunctional place to hang by of there's a probability to be victimized by a petty crime. Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig is more a recommendable one✌✌✌

If you want to explore high class casino and hotel you can visit Resorts world Manila, and OKADA Manila. If you love spacious areas where you can hang out or jogging you can go visit Luneta Park, the biggest park in Southeast Asia. If you want European style architectures you can visit BGC and East Wood

Hello, Welcome to Philippines guys. Mabuhay! Metro Manila is like New York & Washington DC combined, where Business districts and Central Govt offices are found, Arts, History & Cultural centers, also big Universities, specialty Hospitals, Entertainment centers like TV stations & radios, Malls, Restaurants, Hotels & Casinos, Zoos, Baywalk, Riverside, Lakeside among others. Its really Big, its conglomerate of 17 Cities with number of CBDs found all over like Makati, BGC & McKinley, Aseana Entertainment city, Mall of Asia eCom & Baywalk, Newport, Ortigas, Araneta, Eastwood, Filinvest Alabang, etc. As the Central Capital of PH, its few hours away from Tagaytay city where you find Taal Volcano on a Lake, Subic Freeport Zambales with nice beaches, Las Casas Filipinas Bataan a village collection of heritage Spanish houses, Rizal province & Laguna a nice mountainous towns with Laketown hot spring resorts. But since Manila is an old city inherited from Spain, it has many Cathedral churches, old streets & towns, narrow roads & alleys, old houses, and chaotic sometimes crazy form of transport, lol. But of course, the Best beaches, diving spots, mountain hiking, chasing waterfalls & nature activity tourist spots are found outside Metro Manila, scattered all over 7,000 plus islands of Philippines. Enjoy!
If you ever have the time, try visiting the northern part of the country. I'd recommend the ilocos region, Cordillera (mountainous) region, and batanes which is considered the most beautiful province in the Philippines. They also have islands and beaches there specifically in the Ilocos region. While the Cordillera region is known for its cold climate in a tropical country. You should also try looking up las casas Filipinas de Acuzar in bagac bataan, which is pretty much a town full of hundreds of years old Filipino houses. It's pretty close to manila so it's an easy travel.
As a filipino and manileno I thank your channel for your efforts to highlight the positive aspects of our historical city. it is a city beautiful though many imperfections are noticeable but its where much of the vestiges of colonialism and heroism are encapsulated and relics of filipino heritage and nationhood are stored and preserved . Its just sad at least to me it seems that manila now has somewhat deteriorated into a combination of a chinese business enclave and a muslim merchant community , far from what great filipino heroes and founding fathers had envisioned it to be.
Thank you so much for having us as a guest of your beautiful country ❤️ we feel very welcome here and the people are great 😃 a lot more than that as well. We love to explore more 🏆 cheers
For must visits in Manila, you must include Binondo, the oldest Chinatown in the world. BGC is another must visit. A hidden gem that a lot of vloggers miss is The Okada Casino. There is a dancing fountain at the casino that is a must see. It is bigger and much better than the Bellagio Fiuntain in Las Vegas. Enjoy your visit to the Philippines

I'll be honest. I'm not really fond of ambush-interview style of vlogs for first-timers. But that's just me. Don't take my word for it haha. Would've wanted you to soak in the local vibes for awhile than doing interviews. Also, since (Metro) Manila is the capital and where a lot of businesses happen, a lot of the population are also from the provinces just working in Manila or trying to find work. So it's a busier vibe than the laid-back provinces. If you went to the park where you see other tourists or people just enjoying (and walking slower), they are the ones who have more time for interviews. On an added note (and this one you have to take my word), please try to avoid talking about anything political. The views are very divisive so having an opinion might get you into trouble, particularly your views and on comments. Just a gentle reminder. Looking forward to your island vlogs.
Ding! Ding! It's also kinda off putting to watch a foreigner asking about politics when they aren't familiar with the political culture. Best to avoid it if he doesn't want to offend people. I'm still confused by what this channel's intentions though. I've watched several foreign vloggers visit the Philippines and so far enjoyed their approach to the country when they first visited.
Promoting the city/country to the world via interviews with the people. Chai may well focus more on the tourist next time. He likes to get views of others as well as having his own opinion on things. He also likes to explore himself with his friend Ilona and will vlog that content as well. There are a variety of activities we will experience and that is why I have been viewing his content as a subscriber for well over 12 months. Great guy with high morals and only good intentions 100%.
@@stevens8785 Thank you. I’m new to his channel. But I can tell that he is indeed a great guy and that he means well. My comments are more of a personal view as well as observation that others may share. And it’s also out of concern (hence, the advance warning re politics) as some viewers can be nasty or just stop viewing completely and oftentimes the vlogger doesn’t really know why or what happened As for the interviews, sometimes I don’t mind them. It’s just a bit off-putting doing it the first day (in that area) and he happened to come across mostly ‘transient’ city dwellers who are not really originally from the city but are just there to accomplish a chore/job. I would probably have omitted that part but I do understand that probably took some time for him. A better interview (if not other foreigners) would be like if he actually toured the city, rode a trike there and interviewed the driver (I saw some vloggers before who happened to ride a trike around Intramuros and the driver knew lots of interesting stuff) or maybe he and his friend/gf would eat somewhere and get to know other diners and ask them questions. Those are the kinds of interaction I’ve seen viewers enjoy (if comments are the basis).
@@iflipover You know what Iflip over, this is the sort of response that I really do appreciate and, no doubt, so too would Chai, simply because it is positive and constructive so thankyou for that.
Thank you guys 🤗 I can understand it seems a bit awkward how I approach random people on the street. One of the things I’d like to show is that I’m not only focusing on myself but also let others give them their opinion and experiences. I also like to show (a little bit) that we shouldn’t be scared to talk to strangers and most people are super friendly. Local and tourists. 😅 politics… I don’t say anything more ;) Thanks for your input. Have a lovely day/night
Manila is congested better go to ilocos there are historical events. Manila is the center of businesses so it cannot be seen as tourist destination.. more on job opportunies.. if you wanted to interact to locals go out side manila..
The Philippines used to be the richest country in ASEAN. Once upon a time, Thailand was the poorest country. almost the last in ASEAN We are both friendly countries alike.
please stop saying that thing, you make me feel shame as Filipino, just ok to express you over proud feeling but don't exaggerate things about the Philippines foreigners is not that uniformed, they even knew more about our countries history than us.
maybe there is something wrong with your first vlog 😁 . "Disappointment" is negative vibe. being honest sometimes is critical.. so better watch your words.. we Filipino "mabait" "good" but honestly we are "matampuhin" or moody/sulky... a lot of vloggers get thousands of subscribers because they really made us smile even i know the words or compliments were not exactly right .. but we do appreciate the "CARE" of our "FEELINGS".. stay safe and welcome to Our country.

My opinion only. Filipinos understand English however most of them can’t really speak English. You have to speak it everyday to be good at it. It’s hard for them to understand an American and British talking fast mixed with slang words.
It defends upon the location I guess but it's noteworthy that the people in random interviews are not well educated and yet they can understand and in their own way managed to express themselves in English.
Yes you're right , the presidnet should make the phils better by NOT BORROWING MONEY ANYMORE becausew the phils has a huge of debts already so he should do something by not borrowing money anywhere in the world. if he can do that maybe he will be considered doing his best especially if he will pay the debts of dutertis admin.
Borrowing or Loaning is a natural thing in an economy. Every individual countries do that to allot their national projects in fulfilling economic needs, no country can survive without borrowing. Real Talk🤔🤔🤔
Tell me you know nothing about economics without telling me. Borrowing money is the best way for a developing country to fund their projects. Take south Korea for example. They borrowed heavily and was able to turn their country around. The problem with the Philippines is corruption. The money doesn't get used properly because it's already in someone else's pockets. Perhaps the government and people should deal with that first.
Hi, after watching your videos i choice to go in Chiang Mai but now that you are in Manila do you have my same impression that Philippines right now are more expensive that Thailand?
Just a friendly advice--- Avoid asking too much about Politics! Its kinda Divisive,polarizing..It distorts the friendly mood for the locals..some will defend their fave politician like its the Last thing in the World...Stick to People,Food,Culture,Festivals,Malls and Beaches. 😁😊😊😘 See ya around!!
Nah, that's where foreigners and rich Pinoys are. If he really wants to see Manila and how pinoys love, visit barangays or the slums behind the malls. Better yet, visit Tondo to really understand how most pinoys live. It's not scary like people say and there are plenty of vloggers that have gone there too.
