nice video as usual you say the kao mok place is temporarily closed ? looked on map shows closed ??/ is he there everyday ? flying in soon to my home want to try some of your recos WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE ON SILOM AREAD thanks
The food looks amazing. If you and Chai ever did a channel together, you could call it - The Bottomless Pits! I have never seen anybody put away as much food as you Guys🤣🤣Keep up the great work 😃
The curry looks so tasty and yummy Gary, you forgot to call me. hahaha I need some of the tasty and delicious Khao Mok Pae! Great video like always mate! Looking forward to more.
I would love to see some NON saucy dishes, like grilled veg, grilled proteins. The rice by itself and veg looks good, but saucy curries and mutton not my thing.
What a breakfast for your friends Gary. One small complaint.. where was the Roti or any Bread with the curry dishes. Hmm that tender duck breast looked delicious.
Stumbled on your channel while watching other Thai street food vids. I first saw the Luang Prabang trip. Great content.. Also “silom” is pronounced long “i”-- “sy-lom” I believe it is pronounced
Watching all these videos mate I'm going to struggle what area to do food tour with you 🤣 We stayed in Centre Point Silom last time in Bkk but didn't explore much of local area
Their khao mok looks very similar to the one we used to eat at the former Muslim restaurant with this amazing eggplant curry. Is it the same recipe / cook? I am arriving in BKK on Monday, I will go there right away😂
I loved the mutton byriani and the beef masaman curry. Great recommendations. The seating environment was very comfortable…under the shade of a giant umbrella. Great experience!
😍I love the BEACH, STREET FOOD, NIGHT MARKET, FLOATING MARKET in Thailand. Thai People, The Friendliest in the World.👍They accept different lifestyles.💕 🥰I really love Thailand & Japan. ☺My Favorite Countries in the World. 😍Thank you for sharing ♥Keep travels going love your experiences.💕
Good stuff Gary, we are now in Pattaya until 6 Oct then we head up to Chiang Mai to finish Thailand portion of our trip. Enjoying Thai food all along the way
This is stewed duck David, I should have been more specific 🙏 if you love roast duck you have to try Prachak near the first stop, it’s amazing Prachak Roasted Duck +66 2 234 3755 maps.app.goo.gl/mX9vi65DgHqcAZvB7?g_st=ic
100% in agreement, if you stay in Silom/Bang Rak like I do most times, can't miss Khao Mok Gai to start the day, however my first choice is always Silmo Soi 20 Khao Mok Gai De.
Yeah, that goat is always a winner duchess. Nice to know to steer clear of the economical chicken option. Really gets my goat when places are randomly shut - what a right old carry on, eh? Still, not far to find a good subby!
Hi Gary, we have just returned to Melbourne from two weeks in Bangkok for the first time since Covid started. I am embarrassed to admit we did have the hotel breakfast at the Chatrium Riverside every day (although sitting outside watching the river activity was a treat). I feel like we have missed out big time! I used to love the old Muslim Restaurant in Charoen Krung Road. We did have a fabulous time in Bangkok, it was so good to be back. We did eat in the Bangrak area pretty much every night, no hotel dinners for us! I am putting this Biriyani shop on the list for our next visit, hopefully in April next year. I hope you forgive us and we don't have to unsubscribe! Cheers!
🤦♂️ I looked for this biryani place for about an hr when we were there! I can see it must have been closed now. Next time. Thanks again for the recommendation Garry. Always appreciated. 👏
I love all of your videos. I have watched all of them. You know the sources of good Thai food very well. Moreover, speaking Thai with local people makes you so charming. This attracts me to follow your channel.
big piece of chicken in that Biryani. I prefer to eat Biryani with mutton. I also like to eat all those curries, but I like peanuts on that masseman. Wow, I would rather eat that duck. But I have to admit I don't like that coconut ice cream.
This looks delicious Gary! (The curries)... I was about to save it in my Google maps links, but it's already in there! 😄 haha... We will definitely try it next time.
I'm going to have to get that mutton next time I'm in Bangkok. Another great video Gary. I love how all the thai youtubers collab too. Big fan of Chai.
Mate, I've been watching your vids for quite a while now and I'm still amazed at how much food you put away during each filming. Also, I live near Bangrak and always appreciate knowing about more spots. Cheers for the info.
Loved it when Chai called it Lamb Biryani and one of you guys said "goat"; Carol and I were just talking (discussing, not arguing LOL) about the way folks use the terms mutton and lamb to disguise the fact that its really goat (which I prefer to beef, pork and certainly chicken). I was salivating through that whole gamut of dishes you enjoyed. Now I need to watch your mutton (?) video in that place.
only 6 more weeks......outside Robinsons.... and yes... I may do breakfast here (or at the hotel !! /s) Head out for my early morning walk from the Eastin Grand to explore Gary's suggestions in Bang Rak - looking forward to actually finding these places !!!
4 weeks for me!!! Bandara Suites, can't wait for the silom area, convent st., soi's by the holiday inn express, behind the silom mall, japanese food over near patpong, Azuma's...massages..Map them all out, budget your time. Staying for 35 days. going to try out Seafresh AYCE seafood $30usd
Counting the days until we leave for Thailand and our first hotel is very close to the first spot. Looks so good. Can you confirm that "mutton" in Thailand is goat?
@@theroamingcook For the first 4 days we're staying at Centre Point Silom then going to Phuket then a few other places. I'll be back in Bangkok for a few days at the end of the month. By the way, I made Pad Kra Poa for the 1st time yesterday. I'm toughening up my taste buds for the trip.
@@sharonla8071 Be sure to go over to the Soi's( alleys) by the Jewelry Mart on Silom road, there are several lunch stands there for the local workers. Right outside the hotel you will find all kinds of food stalls in the evening and great restuarants. Head across the river to icon siam to the food court in the basement.
@@theroamingcook South East Asian …not Arab or south Asian IE Indian, Pakistan or Islamic from the south of Thailand… ….Thailand losing its own identity
Hello from Oz The Roaming Cook, we're coming to Thailand on the 11th October & wondering if you do any street tours of your favourite places to eat in Bangkok at all?? Cheers, Troy.👍
