While I was in the US Air Force I was stationed in Turkey for four years and I had to do a lot of travel throughout the country. At the time Turkish Airlines (THY) was the only domestic airline and a lot of the THY pilots were ex-fighter pilots. Some of the airports have very short approaches due to the geography and require their very unique abilities. Most of the time their take-offs and landings were as if they were still flying their F-16's and I thought it was awesome, but not everyone appreciated their immense skills.
@@tom4208 no, he was indeed a SOLOTURK pilot. In an interview he gave after this landing, he said that he did the right thing and landed at the start of the runway.
@@mr.tobacco1708 No, there was no landing reference line in the field. It's also wrong to have people there. The landing is flawless and as it should be.

He mentions the Turkic states / empires in the history such as Gokturk Khaganate, Seljuk and Ottoman Empires, Golden Horde, Timurids etc. Indeed we have a great history full of conquests but this era is not an era of conquests. We had established a secular and progressive muslim-majortiy republic after the WW1 thanks to the Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. We must protect our prestige and progressive image and diplomatically play well. NATO's most battle-hardened and second biggest military have to mean something. We can see a strong and more unified Turkey once the Cyprus and Aegean Islands issues have solved. An EU-like union with other (-stan) Turkic countries in the Asia maybe? Cause who says "no" for the rich Uranium and rare-earth reserves in Kazakhstan? Anyways, Let's see what will this century bring to Turkey.

O kadar şanslı bir adamım ki, Solo Türk'ün bulunduğu üs te askerlik yaptım. O zamanlar Solo Türk Pilotu Yusuf Kurt'tu. Sürekli yaptığı prova uçuşlarına tanık oldum. Millet haklı olarak aşırı yüksek sesten bıkıp kulaklarını tıkarken ben hayranlıkla gökyüzünü seyrediyordum. Benim gibi onu hayranlıkla seyreden askerleri görünce kıymetli komutanım Yusuf Kurt daha alçak uçuşlar gerçekleştriyordu. Ya da biz öyle olduğuna inanıyorduk. Askerliğimizin son günü kapatılan akıncı üssünde havacılık festivali gerçekleşti. Dünyanın bir çok ülkesinden savaş pilotları gelmişti. Pakistan ve hindistanlı iki yüzbaşı pilot, Yusuf komutanın gösterisini ağızları açık, şaşkın bir ifadeyle izlediklerine tanık olunca göğsümüz inanılmaz kabarmıştı. Çok gurur duymuştuk çoook.

Daha solotürk eğitimine başlayan pilotlar yüzbaşı zaten bu da min 32 yaşında olman demek . 22 yaşında ne solotürkü ayrıca Yusuf kurt veya herhangi bir solotürk pilotu seçmiyor adayları neyse yalandan ölen mi var değil mi
+H.i P It was a very poor landing (he bounced the landing), and flying that close to civilians is stupidity if he did it deliberately, or poor skill if it was accidental.

My uncle was a fighter jet pilot and he was part of independence day airshow. He always flew over our neighbourhood as close as possible to "salute" my grandma. He was such a showman and i love him 😂
It certainly was low - I got some still photos to prove it - RAF Waddington airshow 2014, also spoke to the pilot on arrivals day as he came up to the fenceline to chat - great pilot who knows his plane and capabilities perfectly. Cok guzel ;)

@@NoNameValla maybe from a near distance he was not able to see,but when approaching from far behind i think he could have seen clearly that there were people on the road and in the field and besides f-16 is known for it's great cockpit visibility.

I once booked a "Safari Tour" with Jeeps through the "woods and mountains" of Turkey. These guys were totally crazy. Driving fullspeed and overtaking busses and cars without sight and close to the precipice (no barriers whatever) while the photograph guy was jumping from one jeep to another. I thought I got killed but I had the fun of my life. I can definitely the recommend this tour!

As a British person who has visited Turkey many times, I can attest to their terrible road laws, so their flying laws have to be no different lol!! In all seriousness. The Turkish are some of the nicest, friendliest people I've come across in my 25 years. They've given me free stuff, insist i come back the next day and given me more free stuff, i buy something from them, they give me free stuff, they buy me drinks, give me food, sell me fake addidas stuff.. and their food... it's so good. You can't get pork in turkey, but damn do they know how to cook.

@Liam .. the turkish road laws are not as bad as in paris, i was often there i never saw an intact car everybody had a dent even on the roof :-) Yes in Bodrum, Kusadasi I also got to know a lot of Brits, especially female Britons because the men only drank beer 24 hours a day and their wives were frustrated ;-)
@@elpamidor6601 The pilot does not need to be higher. Being higher means you run out of runway sooner. He made a successful landing which is the only thing that matters.

@@Bads010 The Turkish flag on the plane says it is owned by the Turkish military. It in no way means it was built by Turkey. Everyone knows F-16s are American made.
I watched the interview with the Turkish pilot. He said the authorities had ensured a security perimeter behind the runway that would not allow any spectators for safety reasons apparently, which later was discovered not to be the case.. A nice blow dry job for those who just took a shower before leaving their hotels and glad nobody asked for a haircut... sarcastic, I know, but still, 🤣🤣🤣. Skills baby! ♥️🇹🇷♥️
