My childhood friend is a plumber and runs his own business. That MF makes like 300k/year.

We truly are lacking in the trades. Everybody goes to college and gets a doctorate but there’s nobody to plumb your house.

When you go to the Union Hall to start your electrician apprenticeship, do you think they ask what your pronouns are?

My son went to trade school, had a job lined up before graduation, high-schools do not promote trade schools enough

We need plumbers and electricians, yes, but DAMN IT we need non-crazy scientists, politicians and journalists too!

If you are young you better have a trade as anything involving office work will go the way of AI. Not just admin but civil engineers who design roads will be gone but the guys building it will be there for a while.

Another thing is the college life is lackadaisical. Parties, sleeping in, classes here n there.. they love that life and so easily take the loans and grants aren't really mature enough to understand its gotta be paid back.

College is worth it IF you go into a valuable program. A lot of kids just get worthless degrees. Colleges are mostly check cashing facilities now

We need to bring back apprenticeship’s.

The thing is driving a truck is not unskilled. It takes more skilled than the average Joe realizes.

When they took shop and home ech out of high school, I know that was a mistake. Not everyone needs to go to college, or anything else.

And today, some tradies add 50% to the bill for customers in the education field. Work smarter not harder. lol

Trade schools are always full in my area dont know what they are talking about. People are just dumb and dont make it through

Everyone i knew took the predatory loan and tried to major in "business" They all dropped out right around accounting class. Obama: "Everyone deserves a student loan" *10yrs later* Biden/Obama: "U can't expect these people to pay off their student loans! Government should pay"

There are cons though. Trades often dont have paid time off. They also frequently work in weather or conditions most people dont really want to work in. They can make decent money but you have to work your MF'ing ass off and long hours.

I almost lost my life working for a psycho electrician. Go to College fuck the trades there’s a reason why immigrants only do it because nobody in America wants to.
