Am I the only one who finds it weird that I know that someone I've never met will order the Angus beef burger for lunch, will eat a buttercake and enjoy it despite it's excessive sweetness, and will definitely have the steak for dinner??😂😂 I guess that just comes from being a faithful follower of your channel! Thanks for another entertaining video!

We had a room (not an accessible room) with a bathroom on this train. The toilet would vent in our room every time someone flushed below or adjacent to our room. It was awful but would quickly dissipate. Still awful each time. It's the balance of having your own bathroom for the long journey vs the awful smell.
@Iluthra
@Iluthra 21 час назад
As long as I traveled First Class, it was fine for me not to have an ensuite bathroom.. The bathrooms were fully stocked with supplies, were large enough to change clothes in, and had lovely fixtures. Once I went Coach and the bathrooms didnt even have TP. Luckily I carry lots of travel tissues. Coach? Never again! The thing I Hated was the snack bar was never manned. I couldn't buy a thing and I had brought only a few snacks. I'd prefer vending machines aboard.

That sounds like a bloody awful design flaw mate. If you're paying premium prices for your own bathroom/toilet/shower, you shouldn't be sniffing other people's faeces.

43:32 - the river is "milky" from "rock flour" or "glacial flour". It is fine-grained, silt-sized particles of rock, generated by mechanical grinding of bedrock by glacial erosion or by artificial grinding to a similar size. Because the material is very small, it becomes suspended in meltwater making the water appear cloudy, which is sometimes known as glacial milk.

The LA lounge was the first one I've seen which didn't look bleak and unwelcoming. You're lucky you had the roomette to yourself, there's no headroom on the top bunk!!

My sister and I took the Starliner from Dallas to Chicago this past July and we stayed in the 2nd floor roomette. I was on the top bunk and it swayed *so much* haha I felt like I was going to fall over! Our meals weren't nearly so nice as yours were, and Dallas Union Station didn't have any kind of lounge. I'm a little jealous. Guess I'll have to just try again!

When I saw you eating a Rehoboth Beach butter cake for dessert at the beginning of your journey, I was wondering if you were going to mention how awfully sweet they are (and you indeed did). I've never ridden Amtrak, but I had one of those butter cakes at the actual city of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Soooo much sugar packed into those cakes!

I've taken the Coast Starlight in the opposite direction (SEA-LAX) in December. The sun sets quick so there's nothing out the window on the first day (Oregon forest/Northern-Northern California) but on the second day they have the "last meal" early at ~4:30pm and you get to watch the sun set over the California coast which more than makes up for it

I did the reverse of this journey (Yelm, WA to Yuma, AZ) many years ago in one of those coach seats because I used to hate to fly. That trip cured me of my flight aversion. Worst travel experience of my life. Long, expensive, and EXTREMELY uncomfortable

When in California, you should say Hola or hello in Spanish as California was once part of Mexico. Aloha is Hawaiian and really only be used while in the islands as it is not respectful of the Hawaiian culture.
