I find it very encouraging when an artist post their failed and then post a success of the same project. When you try something new to you and it doesn't work out you can feel very deflated and never want to try again. However, if we can see that artist we respect have those same issues then we don't feel as that and it's a matter of fact we almost expect to have a failure to and that's a good thing because we always will.
Thank you so much and I couldn't agree more. There's always ways to improve when you try again! It happens to the best of us!! Appreciate you watching!
Oh nooooo!!!! PSA::: Water in the tiny jars with a cork ends up leaking. I learned my lesson and switched to the tiny jars with the metal lids. This travel Altar is adorable! Great idea!!
this video is just incredible, I’m a witch for 4 years and these tips make a lot of sense and are incredible, because whenever I go on trips I’m always innovating things / ideas, but I really enjoyed seeing your ideas, I’m sure I’ll do it 💜🐚🪴
Just a bit of an info dump, though some others have already mentioned it: Modeling clay is oil/petroleum based and will not dry out or harden when baked. It's great for kids, and sometimes even for making molds with plaster or resin, but not good for permanent creations. Some great cheap alternatives are play-doh, DIY play-doh or salt dough, air dry clay, and paper clay. Play-doh needs additives like Elmer's glue or Modge Podge kneaded into it to help it dry without breaking apart. But it's fun to play around with different ways of customizing it into your own clay recipe. The more glue you add, the more sticky and runny the dough will become so start with tiny amounts! You will also want to seal the final product in paint or Modge Podge because of its flour content as pests may be attracted to it. The bakeable clay is Polymer clay, such as Fimo or Sculpey which can be kind of expensive but far more consistent in results. A large 2 lb container of uncolored Super Sculpey will probably be your best priced option, as the colored polymer clay tends to be more expensive. Don't be fooled by how hard the clay is either, it takes a little bit of elbow grease to get the clay workable but it's definitely worth the trouble. Air dry clays are also a great alternative if you don't want to bake polymer clay but each brand and type has it's own pro's and con's so I recommend planning out what kind of project you want to make, and then looking through reviews to see which will work best for your project. Many art supply stores carry all sorts of options, and you may even find some affordable options at your local Kroger or Wal-Mart type stores in their craft section! Happy crafting!
Loved every single one. Even the new take on Abstract Art (clay). I have bought almost every single thing you had and now I know what I can do with them. So much inspiration. Thank you. Merry meet, Merry part, to Merry meet again. Subscribed
Love your Dollar Tree DIYs and have missed your creativity. Yes, I've copied several of your past ideas and have used others as jumping off points for my own creations. Glad you will be doing more!
@@thedoover6520 I'm in the west and in the broom closet, mostly so I won't get kicked out of my apartment complex. I'm disabled, and it would be very hard to find other accessible apartment that I could afford. It's really sad and ridiculous that in 2021 we still have to hide who we really are, especially when 90% of us are just minding our own business and hot hurting anyone else.
Blown away with the varied USEFULl crafts...altar tile/grid/travel kit/libation station....so much covered. Gonna have to try ALLthese at some point. I think those travel altars might be very marketable and fun because of customizable options :) Thanks for sharing :)
New subscriber, I ADORE your channel so much. Your energy is amazing and you are really helping out both long time and new witches (like me) who are on a budget but still want to have beautiful adornments and things to place on their altar or just decorate their home with. Thank you so much for your content and please keep it coming. Blessed Be! ❤
I like the idea of showing some failed one's to encourage people it is possible to do it like the creators are more relateable because some people go into after watching a perfect one done and they can easily tell thereself to give up your never going to be that good.Ive honestly been there so i just watch the videos in awe wishing i could do it.but also it would be nice to see a mess up but somehow you saved it.its more relatable.💖 but I love your work its magical to watch🥰
Love the traveling altar idea!! It looked super cute and you had pretty much everything you could need for it!! The only thing I would add, matches or a lighter 😉
You inspire me. I absolutely love that you use your creativity in your craft. I've been looking for some way to get into the craft and honestly I love to make things and what a fantastic way to combine both. I just wanted you to know that your amazing, and what a great job you're doing 💜
Oh another idea. The travel altar is beautifully done as well. What a cool idea. The libation tray is very pretty. All in all wonderful ideas thank you so much. Blessed be.
Love the goddess! The grid plate is awesome. The runes are a great idea as well. The instructions were awesome for all things. Good luck in your endeavors. Blessed be
Glad to see your videos back. Love watching them the only thing is I am from the UK and we don’t have these items in out £1 shop but I can adapt the DIYs . I hope you are keeping well. Blessings on you and your family . Sending love 💖🐩🐩💖🐾🐾🌱🌿🪴🍄✨🌛🌕🌜🕊🌈🇬🇧
Thanks for watching! Thinking of doing a thrift store DIY for those who don't have dollar trees. Or maybe a popular craft store 🤔 Let's see what I can dig up!
This gave me some ideas! Thanks for sharing - love the drink glas! But as respons to your video ( think I might have seen one of your videos before, so ain’t got a good grasp on what would already exist as this video was made a year ago, but an idea might be to try to make a blooper/fails/ naaah it became good but….results :) in other words, ideas that might inspire even if the result was not exactly…expected. 🙂🥰 However, with that written, I did find this quite soothing. Keep up the good work!
This was great. Thanks for sharing these wonderful ideas. I love that traveling alter and crystal grid. I see a trip to the dollar store in my future 😆
I just love your content & message. I also like to make my own statuary e.g I made a St. Brigid from an ornament I found at a charity shop, after cleansing her, she was only £1. After a coat of primer all over, I spent an hr painting her. Things don't have to cost the Earth, literally, for your craft. I upcycle, & reuse when I can. XXX
To put it simply: i believe that there is growth that can be gained in careful exposure. (On all sides) I love these tutorials. You know I saw those two sided containers and thought they were cool but could not figure out what to use them far...well now I know! Lol. Thanks for posting!
On your travel alter container, you can add the goddess symbol on one and the horned god on the other. Then use them in your alter setup too. I loved all of the DIY ideas you came up with.
The first thing I thought of with the jars with one lid ...... A hourglass!! Would love to see what dosen't work. Maybe we could come up with an alternative.
That has totally happened to me;((( I thought u might have a magical touch;))❤️ I wonder if that’s a cool abstract melt thing we could intentionally do;)))
The two part container you could put water in one side and crystals in the other so you could infuse your water without worrying if they are safe or not
Beth, you are correct. modeling clay is a plasticine. Basically, what makes it stay soft is petroleum jelly, which won't dry nor bake hard. You can, how ever, put it on a stack of paper and leach some of the oil out over the course of a couple months to "dry" it out. it will be harder and less flexible. unfortunately, paint will essentially be a short term solution and will lift and curl at edges if it doenst just turn to goo. maybe since there are so many lovely colors in this pack, we could try doing the details in layers of colors. I have had pretty good success making teeny snakes and laying them down for detail. Sometimes my DT will have Fimo (polymer clay) in random colors. Not a full rainbow though.
Shame on you! It’s been quite a while. 😂. I watched every single video you’ve made. At least I believe so. I think my favorite are the Runes and the Quija board. My favorite but afraid to keep one in the house 🤦🏽♀️
Quick tip: Modeling clay NEVER dries! I've even tried to clear coat a finished modeling clay item, and it just creates a crackly crust like a clear M&M shell. I'm curious as to how and why yours dried out. Did you do anything special to it?
Modeling clay is not a bakeable clay, it is an oil based clay that doesn't dry so it can be reused over and over. Play-doh, DIY play-doh, salt dough and air dry or paper clay are the best affordable alternatives to make permanent objects. Polymer clay like Sculpey is the expensive but higher quality option and is the kind of clay you can bake in the oven. Epoxy Sculpt is another expensive clay option that does not require baking but it is also more toxic because it is a two part epoxy resin material.
Polymer clay like Fimo and Sculpey have varying cooking instructions based on the size of what you are making. The info usually comes on the package of the clay, and unless the clay comes with baking instructions it may not be safe for baking and could be a fire hazard. Stoneware ceramic clay is also unsafe for oven baking and requires a kiln, so always double check the kind of clay you are using before trying to bake it :)
@@FORESTANDFAWN I wasn’t sure since you painted it I was hoping we could lol. The air dry ones haven’t gotten to my store. Can’t wait to make my own tools 😊❤️
