Nope, you are a normal human being prone to being forgetful every now and again. Look on the bright side, it is a sure sign you are advancing in years and you know what comes with that process ...
Yoo JC quick question... Would you say purchasing The One EDT [current formulation] is redundant if you already have La Nuit de lHomme EDT [2017]? I know these fragrances are for the same setting, but do they smell different on your skin?
I really loved hearing about your scent associations with the old barber shop. Timbuktu is probably my favorite vetiver-based fragrance. I still don't have a full bottle; i'm still debating whether it'll be something I will wear often. But it's a beautiful fragrance.
Great video! My favorites are Encre Noire Sport and Guerlain Vetiver Extreme. But also getting into Terre D’Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver. Really nice earthy fragrance with amazing sillage and longevity.
I find the the orange and vetiver in terre d'hermes EDT burns off very quick, and I'm left with a STRONG pepper note and some light geranium. Does anyone else have the same experience? Because I'm worried that perhaps I have a bad batch.
It could just be your skin chemistry...I've heard other people express that the pepper is too much for them on their skin. Maybe try another bottle on your skin in a department store or something, just to be sure.
What about??? 😂 those comments get me every time , it's not a list of every vetiver that's why. Some fantastic choices and some i need to look into so it's great to learn about those from you :) vetiver extraordinare by malle is my favourite vetiver 👑
Haha! Seriously. Unless folks want to see a Top 817 Vetiver Fragrances list, they should be prepared for me to miss a few. Lol I still need to try VE! Been on my list for a while. Thanks Robert.
Vetiver is probably my least favorite note overall, but I do really like some fragrances where it is prominent. I really love how it's used in Dior Eau Sauvage and Maison Margela Jazz Club. Those are two wildly different types of fragrances that feature the note prominently, which backs up your point about how different Vetiver can be from fragrance to fragrance.
This is a wonderful video brother! My most favorite Vetiver or at least the most recent thing I can think of is the first time I smelled guerlain Vetiver. I gotta get some. On your list I definitely wanna try creed Vetiver and the Lunar Vetiver and Roja Dove’s as well
Justin, we love your channel… but roja s expense, to me, just cannot be justified. Admittedly I own Elysium and love it. I own a sample of Great Britain.. but I’ve concluded there are fragrances equally as good for less. Initio, creed, SMN, serge lutens, mancera (superior to roja in some cases)…. I’m not asking you to stop talking about roja but I’m giving you my perspective. Thank you for what you do.
my top Aedes de venestas Grenadille d Afrique Frederic Malle Vetiver Extrordinaire Parfums de Marly Byerley ELDO Fath Electrician Tom Ford Grey Vetiver edp Lalique Encre Noir/A L. 'Extreme Hermes Tere d'Hermes
I liked the video, subscribed ! Csn anyone recomend me to a good site in which i can get samples for these, that does international shipping? thank you
Yes I had the roja danger awesome and the one I will try lord be willing the roja vetiver I know that awesome my favorite store Neiman Marcus because you are getting the best awesome and your other collection you have are nice 👍
Hi! My father used to wear Vetiver from Guerlain. If you know it, Would you consider that a fresh or an earthy fragrance? On the other hand, I will try to sample Daniel Josier's vetiver, and "Incident Diplomatique" I don't know what it is about those fragrances that makes me curious about them; but I don't want to blind buy any perfume.
Amazing list. Hard to choose a favorite vetiver fragrance, but at the moment I can’t get enough of Sultan Vetiver from Nishane. Have you had a chance to try that one yet? It has three different types of vetiver, each displaying a different facet all in one fragrance... executes it perfectly.
I still need to try that one! Masque Milano Hemingway also has three types of Vetiver in it: Javanese, Haitian, and Vetiver Heart. Its also quite multifaceted. But Sultan Vetiver is high on my list. Thanks, Jonathan.
Vetiver is one of my favourite notes. Nothing says earthy and clean like Vetiver. I think it's a note for the mature and refined nose. The farther you get on your fragrance journey, the more you appreciate it.
My father used to splah himself with a vetiver cologne every time he shaved. It was fro Carven. I don't know if it could be found any more, maybe it has been discontinued. Watching this video made me think about him. Curiously, I don't have any vetiver fragrance.
I hope everyone looks into and is able to jump on board with your Patreon Justin, what an easy & effortless way to give back and contribute to your channel!! Your list resonated with me, but particularly as you approached your top pick. I need to try Lunar Vetiver it sounds amazing. I didn’t realize how much I love vetiver until I smelled the oil, WOW stunning stunning stuff.
I am in my 30’s and I don’t know how or when to wear vetiver. I have Encre Noir and other . I like the scent but I don’t know how to dress it. Can someone help????? Please???
Rizingsun Steve Ferreira fortunately Vetiver can be one of the most versatile notes, especially when it’s on the fresher side. It is quite classy by nature, but can easily be worn casually. Encre Noir is quite on the dark and earthy side, so it may not be as versatile as something fresh or soapy.
Sacrilege! 😂 No Guerlain Vetiver! Lol, I am triggered, haha. I have smelled them all and non have beat the original. I own both Roja and Guerlain. I prefer Guerlain and get more compliments with the Guerlain. Plus the price you can't beat. All the best man 👍🏼 Peace from Ireland 🇮🇪
I'm also getting the sample of Hermes Intense Vertiver and also hope to get Guerlain Vertiver. I know Roja Parfum is definitely one of the highest quality with a hefty price tag.
@@stayfreshproductions I hope you see this. I'm in a vetiver mood today, so I decided to re-watch this video. Sycomore is incredible. Try to sample it and consider doing a review.
Not sure if it’ll be redundant to this list but have you reviewed Gallivant’s - Berlin? I’m not a huge Vetiver guy but Nick (owner) almost had me pulling the trigger on it. Only wanted to get a couple this time though and I simply couldn’t pass up on Tokyo and Istanbul.
Currently my nose is attracted to Vetiver I enjoy. Guerlains Vetiver masculine with a great herbal drydown. Encre Nior has got bite but it smells nice in damp weather. Terre de Hermes edt masterpiece took me ages to recognize the brilliance of the blend. Bal de Afrique sweet Vetiver beautiful unisex smell. Just Jack Vetiver an affordable TF Grey Vetiver clone testing it now.
It’s weird that the vetiver fragrances you fell out of love with are the exact same as mine. Tom Ford was hot for a while but soon turned sour on me. Creed original vetiver is a disappointment especially at that price point. Terre d Hermès doesn’t blend with my dna well.. Ooof 😅 had to wash it off immediately. Because you mentioned Roja quite a bit I picked up a sample of the vetiver. Love it!! Got the Elysium too because of your review. Winner!! Thanks for that. I have two suggestions for you. Jo Malone Vetiver Golden Vanilla, and an oldie Encre Noir, and Encre Noir Extreme.
I seen many of your videos. Many times u recommended Timbuktu n also your favourite. I tried once from a friend. Yes... definitely love at first sniff. I can smell Amazing quality crafted in a bottle. Looking forward to Jovoy.
Great fragrance list Justin, this is the first list about Vetiver base scents that doesn't have Terre d'Hermès and Encré, thatis very interesting an unique, very good J... My favorite vetiver base fragrance is Guerlain Vétiver (to my beginner nose) peace bro
Great video bro! You know I'm all things Vetiver. Def some nice choices on your list. My Favorite Vetiver fragrance of course Private Label. But Pound for Pound the Greatest Vetiver fragrance is probably Nishane Vetiver Sultan
Congrats JC! Awesome videos👌 I don't have much with vetiver🙄 Encre Noir Sport Declaration from Cartier Mr. Burberry And one you should try is Vetyverio from Dyptique.
To my knowledge, I've only tried 2 vetiver-dominant frags - Grey Vetiver and Diplomatique, and Diplomatique is my fave. I just recently purchased an 8ml decant of Timbuktu from Fragrancenet, so we'll see how my nose likes that. Oh...and thanks for hyping the Amoroud, making it a necessity for me to get a sample in order to be obedient to your subliminal command.😉
Here are a couple updates: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uerJ7VjD8vQ.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-anBoQYW8_OQ.html
Elie Saab Essence No 6 Vetiver should be a sample. Its one of 9 fragrances done by MFK for the elie saab line. It’s strong , green vetiver but it’s the best vetiver scent I own.
Great list...I shall have to try some of those. My favorite is TFGV EDP. I have a decant of Roja's Vetiver Parfum Cologne, Guerlain Vetiver and Encre Noire A la Extreme as well as a bottle of Kurt Lagerfeld Bois de Vetiver. I really want to try Amouage's Dia Man.
How much do you swear by buying samples from Krystal fragrances I noticed that on your list and what is your opinion of the website as far as the Fragrance samples goes
HI Justin,My favorite is Guerlian Vetiver edt,it just smells clean and masculine, cant beat it for the money best of all it lasts. Getting pretty warm here in New England. Hopefully all the students will return here at UNH were I work. Have a great weekend!👍👊🎶🎵
Bro your hair looks fine, stopit lmao. I wholeheartedly agree with that one dude who mentioned hair coming back, mine is starting so it's only a matter of time before I don't have a decent hairline :(
@@stayfreshproductions I tried Juniper Java, it's pretty weird not gonna lie. I'll let it sit and revisit it later to see if I like it then lol. The dry down actually smells very good! I agree smelling it straight away and close doesn't result in a very pleasant experience. But! Once it dries down it's pretty good!
@@stayfreshproductions thanks for response. I wish I could find a Vetiver that’s not smoky. I love Terre de Hermès and 2009 batch of original Vetiver but TDH’s smokiness gives me headache. Please do a new update video on vetiver niche edition.
I'm a sucker for a good vetiver frag. You made me pull the trigger on Hemingway. Been on my radar for a minute. Should be here Friday. Glad I own a few on your list, but also a few more to try.
I have a lot of vetivers but I will just mention one which deserves more attention it's amouage dia man its a vetiver together with plum and incense and also yang ylan in the background it's a sweet, smoky elegant vetiver, with a touch of floral, it's unisex Signature scent worthy , great for spring Its just really nice, performance is subtle though but that makes it office friendly
What a great video; such an awesome, varied list, with so many that are new to me. Thank you! I have disliked vetiver almost my entire life until just recently when I started sampling fragrances from Parfums de Marly and just on a whim decided to try Byerley. I was blown away as it's unlike any vetiver I've smelled before; slightly fresh but deep and sexy at the same time. Definitely a keeper for me.
This gave me some confidence to try more vetiver! I’ve been slowly getting into the note as well, so I’ve got some more on my radar! Great video 🙏🏼💯🔥 - Jonesy
I bought French Lover last year when I visited the Frederic Malle house in NYC. The moment I smelled it, it brought me back to my childhood with my father when he would cut the grass and we would play outside. French lover is so good that I just bought it again and this time for my dad for Father's Day. He fell in love with the scent. But, I have to say that I just pulled the trigger on Roja Dove Vetiver Parfum Cologne. I got a sample pack after buying Danger and it was the first scent I tried on and I almost fainted. It was the most dry, alluring, mossy, leathery, almost paper like vetiver that I had smelled and couldn't get enough of it. It lasted on my clothes all day and even to the next. It's so intoxicating and I'm just waiting to get the bottle shipped as we speak.
Jose Ortiz i’m referring to the part where I mention that there will be fragrances that are not on my list, because I haven’t smelled them. But if you are recommending that I smell it, I’m happy to do that. Many other people have recommended it as well.
It's a fantastic scent. An absolute classic and a trendsetter. It's been a while since I've smelled it, so I need to try it again in order to recall the finer details of the scent.
