Great stuff! How bout a video on most effervescent or zingiest fragrances. I feel like it’s a fragrance trait that’s fun to discuss and watch. There’s scents out there that almost seems carbonated!
Yes I confirm that dior vetiver like all the original releases from the privée line (eau noire, Granville etc) are still available in Paris but only in 250ml bottles
Considering how increasingly rare the earlier Dior Prive bottles are, the big 250ml bottles are the way to go. I am talking about Vetiver, Leather Oud, Granville, Ambre Nuit, and Cuir Cannage. Even Eau Noire and Cologne Royale. Get these at Galleries Lafayette, Le Bon Marche, or the Maison Dior boutiques on Saint-Honore, Haussmann, and Champs-Elysees. I frankly would not bother with the much later bottles -- they are wan and bloodless.
Great summary Seb. I'm fortunate to have the 250ml bottle. I swapped my 2014 Aventus for this baby, worth the trade! I consider this my current signature. I also haven't smelled Eight and Bob's version, been meaning to.
Thanks Sebastian for this video. I really like Dior vetiver and am so disappointed that we can't get it in the US. So this video brought a smile to my evening.
I got a decant and decided I had to have it. A few years ago, I called the Saint Honoré boutique where the SA confirmed it was available. She was amused that I had called all the way from California to try to get it but she apologized and said they do not ship to the US, even though I was willing to pay a surcharge for it. Oh well...!
Great list, I actually haven't tried the Dior yet. Amouroud Lunar Vetiver is my fav. It's nearly identical to Grey Vetiver, maybe a tad more earthy like Guerlain's Vetiver, but with massive performance.
I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver and Dior Vetiver if i was blindfolded. Ill always cherish my Vetiver sample nonetheless
Are these unisex or guy fragrances. Honestly Sabastian, over the last six weeks I've bought 15 samples. Chanel, Tom Ford,Frederic Malle, MFKB( too long to spell), Roja Dove and Dior. I can't seem to stop. I alternate each day and love them all. X
All Vetiver fragrances should be as pleasant as Tom Ford Grey Vetiver....Im sorry Im spoiled. However Im willing to try these... BTW a close second is Guerlain Vetiver
is guerlain vetiver very different for you than tom fords grey vetiver? i heard grey vetivers performance isnt that great, so im looking for an alternative.
@@AssassinKing19 I normally get overall poor performance on my skin with most fragrances. However with Grey Vetiver I get good performance. Around 8 hrs on skin. I’ve never smelled Guerlain Vetiver.
In Poland you can go to Dior Boutique and order those discontinued fragrances from this line. You have to wait a few weeks and than you can purchase all that old good stuff like Eau Noir, Vetiver and the others.
Stop shaking that around like a Dollar Tree bottle of Gatorade! I can't get it! Well, I can... for $50 a 10ml decant. But I wanta the big bottle! Now I have to contemplate factoring in a ticket to Paris vs. paying the exorbitant eBay price. Aaaargh! An irreplaceable vetiver! It's just so... so damn good.
Thank you for this fantastic Review. The Dior Vetiver is not just my favorite Vetiver it is also my favorite fragrance. I bought a bottle in the Internet a couple of days ago. It has the batch 0y01, so it seems to be from 2010. Do you think that could be a problem because the bottle is 10 years old?
In germany private blends are available in exclusif stores, not all scents in one city / bottle sizes etc. Online u can order everyone. The hyped ones in 40ml‘s
When I can travel to Europe again, I'd like to find a long-lasting, inoffensive vetiver which I can wear to work. I'd like to buy Grey Vetiver, but I only get 6 hours on my skin.
Hey! "They don't speak English very well"? Wanna rephrase that? OTOH my dad loved Carven vetiver. I still have a bottle of his from the 80s. So thanks for the memories!
Not related to this brand. Sebastian if you had 300 to spend on a Frag Which would you rather Spirituese ...vanille or Angelique Noir I have at least 4-5 niche FB and with heavy vanilla note, I no nothing about Angelique Noir. Accept you and another reviewer(whom I subscribe to also)speak on it So which one?
LOL! Well I didn't mention Encre Noire in Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and today Wednesday's video? LOL! I don't really mention in every video. But yes get the A L'Extreme version. I love it! :)
@@ThePerfumeGuy I appreciate you looking into this. I’ve been researching this fragrance as I’m a lover of Sycomore, and I’m wondering how they compare. I own both the EDT and EDP of Sycomore.
It was out of the Top 10! SV is very damp and earthy smelling compared to Dior Vetiver! I tested every single Vetiver fragrance I own and this list came closest. :)
