🌱 Did you know that anxiety doesn’t have to be a battle between self-compassion and taking action? 🤔 Many people think they need to either soothe their anxiety away or push through it without acknowledging their feelings. But what if those two approaches could actually work together?
💭 Anxiety is a natural, healthy response that can guide us toward constructive action when we listen to it mindfully. For example, feeling anxious about a big test or a job interview can motivate you to study and prepare -that’s self-care in action!

Hi Dr Chloe, Not a doctor but a student, I cope with CPTSD and trauma related OCD's. I'm not medicated but In 6 years in recovery and have learnt a lot along the way. My biggest problem is turning off those stress functions once they cross a tolerance zone. I can recognise early symptoms, then treat those with a few tricks like, meditation, cold shower, wristband snapping and aroma therapy in some cases, and what you suggest here in the video. Self care. That will resolve it within a day or 2 But once it goes beyond my tolerance, my limbic system is in over drive and it really starts to effect my brain and body function's, considerably intensifying the PTSD and OCD symptoms. It's incredibly interesting, but also very frustrating. When I can't turn it off, it takes sometimes weeks to months depending on how hard I have had to push past my tolerance zones. And it's isolation, self care and time is the only thing that seems to fix it. But it's not practical In the real world and I am wondering if you have any ideas, information or insight that could help further recovery?
