This week's video is an updated tour of Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal. We toured this resort a few years ago, so it was nice to be back. Lot's to offer here, let us know if you have any questions. We didn't get to visit as many a la carte restaurants as we would have liked, so let us know in the comments if you visited and how it was!
How would you compare this resort to the Barcelo Maya Grand Palace and the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo? Looking to book for this summer, and both the Bahia Akumal and Tulumn are a tad bit cheaper than the Barcelo and Iberostar. Is there a big difference? We have been at the Palace and loved it!
We’ve never been to Iberostar, but I would say the Akumal and the Maya Palace are very similar with regards to food and rooms. Akumal has a much better beach area and I would say better entertainment as well. It all depends on what you prioritize in a vacation.
@@WherewegoingNext thanks for that looks brill..I think I've seen that video lol..is there any difference in junior suite and junior suite superior? Thanks again
Wow lots of great reviews in comment section. Great video too. Going here for Xmas with the family. Experiences last a lifetime. Kids won’t be young forever. We all have a blast in Mexico. Cheers
Another fantastic production, thanks for your hard work. We’re headed back to Bahia in a few weeks. I sure wish I could travel as often as you get to. Keep up the great work! Jeff (Papaw)
Great video! I was so “ homesick “ watching it! We are hoping to get back to Bahia Principe next winter. We usually stay at Sian Kaan but thought a change would be nice, so will choose Akumal this time. We did stay at Akumal way back in 2002, our first BP visit. We’ve stayed at other resorts in the Maya but to us none compare to BP, 🇨🇦🌴
Great tour! Have you ever seen anyone fishing from the beach? I enjoy beach fishing on my vacations, I bring my own travel rod, and would like to get out and fish during my stay. Thanks!
Great video you guys. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem wirh me. Does this resort have facilities in place (ramps? golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (is. from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Also, Do villasb82 & 83 have elevators? Thanks so much h, Steve S. 😊
Hi Steve! I don’t think they have elevators 🤔 they do however, have accessible rooms on the main floors of all the villas. Yes, there are also ramps going into all the main areas and golf carts that take you around the whole resort 👍🏻
I really like how you described everything... well done! I got a question... out of the Bahia Principe resorts, which one do you recommend for 2 adults, quiet, relaxing... I see the adults only section on Akumal has loud music (not what we are looking for), Thank you again for a great video!
If you don’t mind being farther from the beach, Sian Ka’an is a good option for a relaxing vacation. The other 3 - Akumal, Tulum, and Coba are very family oriented, but they do have quiet pools to relax at.
Just back from a week at Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal -- satisfied overall -- however, it was disappointing to find some of Akumal's lobby-area amenities unavailable (CLOSED for renovations) : Bahia Spa; Buffet Riviera; Arlequin restaurant, Pool restaurant -- luckily there were other (spas and) buffets (accessible with our wristlets) within a reasonable walking distance -- otherwise we just hopped on a 'shuttle' to the other hotels.
Hello, I was wondering if the beach area for Sian can be used by akumal? And is the beach bar with swings for people at Akumal? I seen a brief picture of foam beach beds on the beach , can those be used by people at Akumal? Thanks again for answering my questions
No, the Sian Ka’an area cannot be used by Akumal guests. Yes, the beach bar with swings is on the Akumal beach 👍🏻 not sure which beach beds you saw, but yes there are some by one of the Akumal pools 👍🏻
We leave on Apr 10. Great video. Can anyone recommend a particular building room #s where you would have a great view of pools or beach. I'm thinking that some would be better than others, Thanks
How did you like going back a second time to this resort? I am going again with my family. Have mixed feeling since had some issues with friends of the family the first time, which didn't make it so memorable for me. I have been watching videos to try to get me amped up, but not really working...
It was better than the previous times for sure - they are really working on their customer service. Hopefully you won’t have any issues this time! Enjoy!
DEAR WHERE WE GOING NEXT, HAPPY NEW YEAR. 🎅 GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIENDS. I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU AND VERY HAPPY FOR YOU. I HOPE ALL OF YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE. I HOPE YOU HAD THE BEST AND HAPPIEST CHRISTMAS OF YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. I LOVE YOU. I LOVE MR. ESPARZA AND ALL OF MY BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS. 🙏 SINCERELY PETER
Hiya, love this video! We go in September. I was just wondering, I was told there is a 24hr food bar for like pizza etc is that still there? And by staying at luxury Akumal which of the other hotels are we able to visit? Thank you 😊
Fab holiday great staff sad to leave after 2 wks a Great family break spoiied rotten what a way to enjoy our 50th wedding Anniversary would go back tomorrow being ex Royal Navy I went all over the World this place Talum was the best Oct 2023 Wii stay with us as special
Is there no lobby bar in this resort? Kind of a must for my sons who are wanting to go. Please let me know is this good for young people that are single.
No lobby bar, but there’s a sports bar just off the lobby. Out of all the Bahias in that complex, Akumal is the most “singles” appropriate. There’s also an adults-only section of the hotel.
Great in-depth reviews has helped me lots but I have a question, why do you think everything is little ? You always describe everything as being little even things that are huge. I'm so confused as to why.
Are the cocktails included? i read online that premium drinks are an extra cost on their website. we’re going in september and trying to figure out as much info as possible
Yes cocktails are included! They have a good variety of liquor that’s included- plus they have an additional menu that you can choose to pay extra for.. for example special wines, whiskeys, tequilas, etc.
If you’re strictly beach people, I would say Akumal bc they have a bit of a better beach - otherwise, Tulum is better.. the resort and rooms are newer and the restaurants are excellent 👌🏻
I've heard references to preferred club but I didn't think Bahia Principe had a tiered guest program other than the lobby you book in too, is this correct? It really annoys me when hotels have a preferred status but don't publish it anywhere before hand
Glad you enjoyed! Yes, there is a disco at the Bahia village that is open to anyone staying at either of the Bahia hotels in the complex. It wasn’t open when we were there, but hopefully it is now 🤷🏼♀️
@Mary-qq5sz it looks like their rules changed! As of November 2023 - October 2024, you can dine at any of the ala cartes as many times a week as you’d like (unlimited). You can book at reception or through their app when you get to the resort 👍🏻 you can check their website to see the all restaurants available 👍🏻
Coba is not located on the beach - they have a section on the beach with a bar, but it’s a 5-10 minute golf cart ride away. Coba is more family oriented with lots of water areas for the kiddos, whereas Akumal is more adult- focused with an adults only section. I would say the Akumal beach area is nicer and larger as well. Akumal is a “luxury” category hotel, whereas Coba is a “grand”.. so Akumal can visit Coba and use the facilities there, but Coba cannot visit Akumal. Hope that helps.
It depends - if you have smaller kids, I feel like Coba would be better bc of the splash pad. Otherwise, Akumal is great bc it’s right on the beach and you can still visit Coba and Tulum 👍🏻
Thank you, one more question, we have friends staying in the swim up rooms and we are in the adult section. How far away are we to each other? Is it walkable?
I was told that even if you did not book an adults only room you still had access to adults only pool as long as you had no kids. This was directly from the hotel. Can any one confirm.
Comparing the Akumal, Coba and Tulum, which one do you recommend for two young adults in regards to the most inclusivity and first international trip alone? (Two sisters)
2 questions: 1. If we are not staying in the adults only section, do we still have access to the adults only pool and beach section? We are adults of course 😊 2. Can we eat at the other buffets (Sian Kaan, Tulum and Coba) or just Akumal?
1. Yes, you can access the adults-only areas if you are an adult, even if not staying in that section 👍🏻 2. No, you have access to Tulum and Coba - except for their buffets.
I think it’s ridiculous that you have to pay for shows, it’s meant to be all inclusive and If you want to see any good shows you have to pay. Never experienced this at any other resort. Stupid
