🌸 Japan vlog: first time exploring alone! Osaka Dotonbori, Ichiran, Round 1, nightlife

Took the JR from Tokyo to Osaka. Because we had to stand in line to redeem the voucher it killed some time and we ended up missing our train. Tip: try to exchange the voucher at least a day or 2 before!
We checked into our airbnb then i went off to explore Osaka's Dotonbori.
First time going off on my own and navigating the subway. Up until now I had travelled with friends who did the navigation but I wanted to venture off alone while they rested up at the airbnb.
Went to Round 1 then spent the rest of the day exploring Dotonbori where I snacked on Ichiran, egg tarts, boba, etc!

I think I would easily get lost out there among the crowds and would miss the train like you did. For sure I will definitely enjoy all the foods and the friendliness of Japan.

Thank you! I definitely was able to look at things at my own pace and got to go into whatever stores I wanted to without fear of holding anyone back. Exploring alone has its perks!

Thank you so much for watching, that means a lot! I was there in April! It only rained two days while I was there. Their rainiest seasons are around June to July but April's weather was nice overall!

Would you be able to recommend a hotel in osaka that has easy access, that isnt too far from Universal Studios like you did for tokyo?

Unfortunately the hotel i stayed at closed down. I did stay at an airbnb when i went to universal studios

Is the JR pass the only way to grab a ticket to like travel from Tokyo to Osaka? If not then does do you still need to redeem or get a ticket of some sort ahead of your planned schedule? Or can I just hop on the bullet train the day of.

Hello! JR pass is not the only way but it's the fastest (2hrs, 30min ish). You can decide where you're going and if JR is worth it. For us it was because we used it a lot in osaka/kyoto lines. Some lines in osaka had JR only trains. I found there's also a night bus (~$48usd) but tokyo and osaka is 6 hours away. If you have time to spare, thats an option as well! I also found there's a regular train but with stops they have to make, it's said to take about 9 hours. If you're taking JR, you have to purchase the pass online and they'll mail you a voucher to your home address. You'll then take the voucher to redeem for a pass in japan. So super important not to lose that voucher. I'll try to gather up more details and make a video on this!

oh i see so you cant take the JR trains without the pass. I had thought that they sold individual 1 way rides for the JR trains if you dont opt to get the 7day or + pass@@xtigerleelee

@Smilingsoap since i was going to tokyo-osaka-kyoto in a duration of one week we bought the 7 day pass prior. I'm not sure if a one day ticket exists but i hope someone who's more knowledgeable and has experience can help let us know :)
