I share my plan to test Great Big Roses humic acid and kelp fertilizer after another Rosarian recommended it. I will check back and report the progress of the roses in a few weeks. Bonus - this is a fertilizer with no smell so animals won't smell, trample and dig at the base of your plant.
Many of us are struggling with black spot in our roses. It is often something that we have little control over due to our humid/rainy environments. It can be frustrating and I have found that the only solution is to hand pull or blow the affected blooms and ensure that the beds are cleared of dropped leaves. Ensuring that your roses are getting the right nutrients will promote stronger and healthier roses. After another Rosarian recommended Great Big Roses, I reached out to Great Big Plants and received the sample for free.

I use Neptunes Harvest Rose and flowering. The formula has kelp and humid acids in the mix. My roses LOVE it!

You should try alfalfa meal for roses. I am not vegan but alfalfa is vegan and it contains triacontanol which is a naturally occurring plant hormone which some plants love, others it has no affect on but roses love it! It’s normally sold as food for livestock in a pelleted form but if you buy it and give it to your roses you will see the results.

Hi Kim. I used 4 oz per 1 gallon of water for 1 rose bush or 1 rose in pot. Is it ok or too much? And do i need water rose before feed with this one,

Can I use this on a first year baby rose? Heirloom says to only use liquid gentle fertilizers like fish for the first year or their year warranty is void.

I have a hard time knowing how organic I should go. I know to never do synthetic but what about David Austin’s brand Fertilizer and Maxsea? They aren’t 100% organic but they also are not synthetic, they are “made of organic material” Do you like either? I’ve heard such good results but I don’t want to stress my roses

This is so interesting because I used Kelp meal, and humic acid combined with Rose Tone this year in the spring. I bought all three products from Amazon. Well now it’s all combined for me already in this.

ahhhh this stuff looks so interesting!!!! I love that it has humic acid! I've been researching that stuff lately. I saw a soil scientist on YT say that she thinks it's going to become part of the gardening protocol in the next 10 years just how fertilizer and compost is.

Good morning! Watching your video w great interest. I think a lot about how our choices cause change around us - an important one is what we feed our plants. I do a true "hot compost" Charles Dowding style - 2 days ago our compost was 140 degrees. Applying this weed-free compost full of good bacteria to the top of the soil layer is a good thing - I try to follow his plan in general - what a gentle soul.
