Love lies bleeding, Caladiums, and Coleus all favourites of mine. I only wish I had the space to over winter Coleus, but what I do in the early summer is take cuttings to increase my summer display. I love the deep red caladiums. Your Amaranth are huge compared to ones I’ve had, beautiful can’t wait to see your Christmas display with them.
I'm just north if you in Southeast NY...my caladiums flopped over after a few nights of 40 ish degrees so I dug the corms up and am also drying them in a box...i also take cuttings of coleus a d have many of the same for years..always love your videos..learn so much! Thanks!
I wish your video was a few days earlier. I took cutting from my coleus and I didn't do the two nodes! 😩 I have them in water and they are looking fine, so far! 🤞
I started growing Amaranth after seeing your video a year ago. Never thought of drying them I'll give that a try. Can't wait to see how you incorporate into Christmas decor. Thanks
Thanks for sharing this video I grew these a couple of times in my small front garden what a show 🙌 they self seed so easy huh my neighbours loved them 🫶🏻 this year I don’t have any Amaranth I have salvias instead ( hot lips) among other plants karen from Port Macquarie NSW Australia 🌊🐳🐨🦘🦇🇦🇺🌞👒🧤
So glad to see your video pop up! I need to take my caladiums up as well. My coleus are still doing well and I’ve already taken cuttings a couple of time this year. I also use them as filler in a vase or just in vase on their own when I don’t have any nice blooms to add. Wondering if you need to remove the leaves for drying the amaranth. I do that when I dry hydrangeas.
Hello Yulia .... Ive been growing and drying amaranthus for over 20 years now. I just cut them, pull off the leaves and stand them in a huge vase or in nothing and let them dry in a corner of my room. One of my favorite flowers.
I’ve been looking in the woods for a small maple sapling with orange leaves so I can transplant it behind my house. No luck, yet. I have a sea of yellow leaves in the backyard.
I had 5 days of every type of rain, sprinkle to downpour, beautiful sunny day at the end. I'm not sure what is more amazing, the size of that amaranth or the size of the seeds, nature is just mind blowing. I'd be interested in how you store your dahilas, if you've try several ways.
Hi , loved this info, but I just wish it were longer! I love that sugar maple tree so beautiful ❤️ love love it!! I wonder if it would survive in hot Arizona?? I will have to Google But Thank you so much your garden is amazing still thriving in cooler climate! What type of dog 🐶 us your pet? He's beautiful as well 💗 sending best wishes from AZ🌝
Can you eat those seeds from amaranth? They are so pretty, your tree will be incredible. I took in my Caladiums in pots, they look pretty sad. I will try to store them. Cut some Coleus too, but I think my cuts were different, so maybe I should cut some more! Thanks.
In the past, I let my caladiums dry out in their pots and left them in the pots in the basement for the winter. They usually come back in the spring. What do you think of this method and have you tried it with success?
I'm wondering if this method would work for pot grown elephant ear?? Let 1st frost take it. Cut off leaves, bring in and let it dry out? I saw your video but just am not sure I want to take it out of it's pot for storage.
