Your explanations as to when to count a stitch and when to not use that stitch were so welcomed. I've been following crochet tutorials for ages and not once has anyone thought to show the stitches the way you do. The correct way to count the stitches and the exact place to put the crochet hook in the back "pearl" looking stitch made it seem suddenly so easy. Thank you so very much

Written Pattern Chain length=height of pumpkin HDC in the back bump of the chains for the length At the end of each row CH1 and turn work HDC in the back loop of each stitch Continue until the panel is 3 times (more like 2 1/2) long as it is tall Fold the pumpkin in half, stick your hook through the first stitch on both sides, slip stitch all the way down Finish off, leaving a 3-5ft tail for sewing Weave yarn through the top edge, pull tight and weave around in the opposite direction. Bring the yarn through the hole, and tie a knot. Put in filling Weave yarn through the new top edge, pull close, just not fully, weave around in the opposite direction (leave a hole big enough for a stem) Take the long yarn tail and wrap it around the pumpkin, going under a stitch to secure it each time. This makes the indent for the pumpkin bumps. Weave in the tail.

Removing the cinnamon stick is a good idea because by the time next year rolls around, it might have stained the yarn so keeping them separate in a plastic bag or box is prudent. Thanks for your excellent instructions.

I love these and can't wait to make some!! I make a lot of amigurumi and generally when making something with stuffing you want to use a crochet hook that's smaller than the recommended size on the label. This is so you don't have big holes and your stuffing won't show through. The size does vary based on yarn and personal tension. Just saying this to help anyone who might need a smaller hook to get the desired result. Happy crocheting!! ❤

I did the stack of three. I know they will probably get stored after the Thanksgiving holiday, but I put a small dowl rod through all 3 pumpkins. It seemed to give the stack more stability to stand alone. But I love this project. You also did a very good job on your presentation of to whole process. So I was really excited about this video and i still am but I'm getting stuck after the ch11 step. I do the chain and I even followed other slower chain tutorials and it comes out looking good but then when you finish your chain it has extra things on mine does not have and I'm very confused. I've slowed you down to .25 speed and still can't figure out my issue. I think maybe I'm not doing it loose enough but that's the only thing I can think of. If anyone can think of any other reasons I could be messing up I'd love the input
@erica_arndt
@erica_arndt Год назад
Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by "extra things" To you start with a slip-knot. Then yarn over your hook and pull it through the slip knot. Then just repeat, so yarn over and pull through the loop on your hook for as many chains as you want. Once you have enough chains, you can then start working back through them. If your chain is too tight try using a larger hook just for the chain, then going down to the recommended hook for the rest of the pattern. I hope that helps!

I can see stuffing in my daughters as well, she's a looser crocheter. I would suggest trying a smaller hook and see if that gives you a tighter fabric. :)
