Your citrus and fig orchards are very impressive - so many interesting varieties. It would be very cool to see your farm in person one day.

My variegated pink eureka took a beating from all of the storms. It couldn’t take much of the cold as the Meyer lemon, even though it got bit a little too from the frost. But the Meyer is more tolerant & is showing signs of regrowing. The pink looks to be also, but it suffered real bad. I’m just waiting until this last frost comes through, & I’m going to prune them when I see the most appropriate time to do it. Now, your citrus farm is beautiful. I want more citrus trees, but I want them more mature to hopefully get fruit faster. I love satsumas & mandarins. And I should be getting my hoop up soon to start the remaining of my spring sowing & growing of various crops.

First time watching your content and I truly enjoyed it. I am in zone 8 and my first citrus was a Meyer lemon which I promptly planted in the ground. It has barely survived my babysitting attempts through two years of Texas freezes. Nov of ‘23 I purchased a greenhouse tent from Aldis and my Meyer is a happy clam! We also have a Moro Blood Orange, a Lisbon lemon, a MeiWa kumquat, several more Meyers from air layering, a Paige Mandarin, a Clementine, several figs, a couple each of peaches, apples, pomegranates, plums. I love your set up and am going watch the rest of your videos for more info. Thank you and many blessings.

Your big unkown citrus that was supposed to be a clementine looks a lot like a Cuban Shaddock to me! I've heard of this happening before from reputable nurseries that used it as a roostock but it took over the graft for whatever reason. Beautiful trees otherwise, congrats on all the growth and production!

Your video is so inspirational! I started planting fruit trees in my backyard since 2022( zone 9b), have some good varieties of citrus trees and other semi-tropical fruit trees like Loquat, Guava, and avocado, etc, got all year long fresh fruits from my backyard, kids love to eat them right out of the trees ❤! Your video inspired me think of expanding my productions to feed my entire street neighbors 😂 Would you mind to share all of the varieties of your citrus trees! Thank you very much! 🙏

Very impressive. What kind of soil or planting media do you use? How high are your beds? Do your beds have bottoms or are the roots growing into the ground underneath? That clementine looks large enough to be and is shaped like a pomelo. I'm in 10B/11A and have a Calamondin, Centennial variegated kumquat, Ray Ruby Grapefruit, a Satuma mandarin, variegated pink lemon, and a couple of Meyer lemons, and an Australian finger lime, all in containers. I also have a couple of everbearing mulberries in the ground. I stared growing them about three years ago and so far, I've dodged the Asian Psyllid. Production and taste get better each year.

Excellent fruit production from your trees and the fruit is so vibrant in color. All of my trees are in pots, zone 9A so I can't expect any where close to your production. What do you use to fertilize your trees and how to you handle pest? Thanks for your response.
@littlebexarfarm
@littlebexarfarm 6 месяцев назад
Thanks! So I use seaweed, fish, kelp, 13-13-13, azomite and worm castings Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Labor Day. For pest control I use dawn dish soap in a big back pack sprayer. You can also use OMRI listed pest control if you want to go the organic route. I always prefer that myself. Hope that helps.

@@littlebexarfarm It does, thanks for your help. I am on target for what I am using as well. I will be happy with at least a third of your individual tree production in the coming years.

Hi ! It is very hard not to drool! Do you have kumquats? Your trees are so healthy. How do you feed them... What are your specific temperature averages according to seasons? I'm supposed to be in a 9a or 9b zone but haven't yet planted in ground... Only containers. What would you start with if you were in my zone? Best regards from France.
@littlebexarfarm
@littlebexarfarm 6 месяцев назад
Hello. Thanks for that. I’m usually feed them on Mother’s day, Father’s Day and Labor Day for us. Any seaweed, kelp, fish, azomite and osmocote can work to fertilize the trees. I would think you could grow any of the citrus that I’m currently growing in your zone. Not sure how many freezes you get a year. It all depends on the protection you give the tree. I always suggest high tunnels because it makes it so much easier to grow all year long. No kumquats. They can be hard to sell. Hope this helps. Thanks.
@crookedstrings3009
@crookedstrings3009 6 месяцев назад
@@littlebexarfarm It certainly does! I've just recently found out about azomite and am able to get some in granulated form. I don't know what is osmocoat yet. Your methods seem quite successful! I'm getting a tunnel greenhouse installed this year for food crops max height 8.8 feet (rather short) and the trees (one, maybe two) shall sadly have to be trimmed regularly but I will also try in ground against a south facing wall. Your fruit baskets are the perfect motivation. All the best for 2024!
