Ingredients;
2 1/2 Cups of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 3/4 Cups Granulated Sugar
3/4 Cups of Vegetable Oil
1/4 Cup of Butter- Flavored Shortening
2 eggs
2 Tsp of Vanilla Extract
1 Tsp of Lemon Extract
1 Heaping Tsp of Lemon Zest
1 Cup of Buttermilk
Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting
2 Packages of 8oz Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1 Stick of Land O Lakes Butter
3-4 Cups of Confectioners Sugar
1 1/2 Tsp of Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 Tsp of Lemon Extract
1 1/2 Tsp of Lemon Zest
1-2 Tsp of Lemon Juice
5 Drops of Yellow Food Coloring

Hello Miss Teresa and Mr. Eric! OMG thank you so much for this amazing video I love love love majority of anything lemon! Lol along with chocolate!.. this recipe was so simple and amazing I’m definitely going to make this cake!! However when I tapped on the description of the video it was kind of weird? It gave a great deal of product suggestions instead of the measurements for the cake?.. so I don’t know how much baking powder or baking soda you added to your all purpose flour? Well I’ll jot down what I remember you mentioning in the beginning of the video and I’ll see how it goes! Continued love and blessings to you and your entire family! Ms Teresa if you are using Lily’s all purpose flour why do you add baking soda and baking powder? I am a little confused. I’d been told if it’s already in the all purpose flour, adding extra baking soda and baking powder could make it taste metallic? I’m not saying it’s wrong. Rather trying to get educated about the science behind the additional baking soda and baking powder. TY in advance.

Hello, I was always told the opposite of your comment and that is all purpose doesn’t contain anything to make it rise. So I wanted to be sure, this is what I found. Self-rising flour and all-purpose flour have similar properties with two key differences: ingredients and uses. Ingredient-wise, self-rising flour contains all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder, while all-purpose flour only contains ground endosperm. All-purpose flour will not rise on its own. If a recipe calls for all-purpose flour, it will typically require a leavening agent like baking soda, baking powder, or yeast to provide lift. To make your own self-rising flour, sift in 1½ teaspoons of baking powder (or a ½ teaspoon of baking soda) and a pinch of fine salt for every cup of all-purpose flour in a large mixing bowl. Whisk thoroughly to guarantee an even distribution, and store the flour in an airtight container. Thanks for sharing ☺️❤️let the journey continue…
