Hey Jen, I'm 73 and was a working single Mom back in the dark ages before social media craze hit! We didn't have Food Network, youTube etc. We had the library, bookstores and good old word of mouth! What I would have given back then for a smart phone! I watch you, Frugal Fit Mom, Acre Homestead, Minimalist Mom, See Mindy Mom for your positivity and the message that we all are in this together, that there is light at the end of the laundry hamper! I get recipes, jokes, forward thinking, learn a lot on the way and all the while given to me with a smile! So thank you, keep on keeping on and we will be on the other end better off than we were when we hit play! Blessings !!!
I don’t care how anyone chooses to feed their family. I think it’s a personal choice of what works for you and yours! I also have those same food prep containers form Walmart and they are a great affordable option. We just used them for a 5 day road trip where we packed all our food and They worked great!
Hi 👋 Jen. I am so glad you did your channel like this. I never miss a video because you are real you aren’t trying to be someone your not and that’s rare. Everything you share is so inspirational and I have learned so much from you. The way you show us your grocery haul and the way you prepare everything is so educational. I know that might sound weird but I have learned better ways to store food and it’s so important specially these days. I truly appreciate you and everything you do in your everyday life. Thank you for giving us content that keeps me coming back for more. Hugs 🤗 from 🇨🇦
I wish RU-vid existed back when I was a single working mom. So much of what I see on your channel would have been so helpful. Thank for sharing this will help a lot of people
Hi Jen. Thank you for your authenticity in your videos. I could have used something like your channel, Frugal Fit Mom or See Mindy Mom channels when I was a working mom raising two children. It would have reinforced that I wasn’t alone in my struggles. You are helping so many people.
“ I am who I am!”😂 Yes, keep saying it! Those mini mozzarella balls are so tasty and much more affordable at Aldi. There was like a 4 dollar difference between my local grocery store & Aldi 👀
I’m not strict with my kids as far as meals either! I’m trying break generational toxicities and I want my kids to have a healthier relationship with food than I did as a kid and still do! I love your channel and as a working mom myself, I SO SO SO appreciate how real and relatable you are. 🩷
I actually don’t mind seeing you wash your produce week to week. It’s a good reminder that all of us have these kind of recurring tasks that are necessary to maintain a household. Sometimes I wonder how many years of my life I’ve spent chopping produce 😂
Hi everyone, Happy belated 4th of July... I'm not sure how many people know this about Lemons/Limes, when you purchase these items choose the smooth skin rather than the bumpy kind...the smooth skin lemons/limes are more juicy as opposed to the bumpy ones which are dried out...have a wonderful TBT...Many Blessings to all and hi Sweet Murphy and Milo, love you guys...🐾🥀♥️🙏✝️
Love you Jen. I always enjoy your content whatever you decide to share with us. I am grateful you are a busy woman and I am just thankful you continue to share with us. Have a great day.
Jen..I know you already have them but using quart canning jars to put your fruit in then vacuum seal is a perfect cheap way to preserve your fruit for weeks if not a month believe it or not. Just throwing that out to you for anyone that might not be able to purchase the items you mentioned.
Hey Jen I just discovered Temu too I actually love what I bought. As for the person that told you that you pronounced Worcestershire wrong really if all they gonna do is criticise then they shouldn’t bother watching there are more important things to be critical about than that.
I love when you put us in the fridge and microwave to talk......hilarious!!!! Anything for click bait Jen....hahahahahahahaha " I am who I am". And THANK YOU JEN!!!!!!!
Jen I surely appreciate everything that you post. I do work out side the home and it is indeed overwhelming and frustrating at times wondering what to make etc. Your contents are well respected and received here in the island of Trinidad!❤❤❤
I cut the ends off my hearts of romaine, and wash the whole lettuce spears. Store them in a container with a paper towel and they last about 2 weeks. If the bottoms get a little brown just trim off the ends and I can chop the spears for a salad as needed. Works great for me!
I was the same way when my boys were growing up about their meals. I never forced them to eat what we were eating. I often could not even get them to try a bite just to see if they liked something. I would not want someone forcing me to eat something I didn't like. As a result I pretty much cooked 2-3 different meals a night. My youngest wasn't as picky as my oldest, so I would often tailor the meal around what he would eat and my husband and I would just eat that. You pick your battles. It is Taylor Swift week here in KC. It is suppose to rain on Friday for her first concert. I never got into her. Things might had been different had I had a daughter. I grew up during the 70's and 80's when the music was amazing (IMO). That is still what I listen to. Love your grocery hauls and meal ideas. With just my husband and I at home now, I only have to cook one meal for the most part:)
Don't worry about saying "worcestershire" correctly - I live in the UK not too far from there and everybody here pronounces it differently - love your channel - as always xx
I love that you said your Taylor Swift was blaring in your car. Sometimes as a 52 year old I feel maybe I shouldnt be blaring Taylor Swift from my car but she's my favorite and now I feel more normal 🙂
I never miss any of your videos. You always make them so interesting. Aldi's is my #1 grocery store to shop; then Walmart. Aldi's carries so many more items than they did even a year ago. The quality of their products is equal to HyVee or any other grocery store. I'm a fellow Iowan from Des Moines. Keep up the great work.
We adapt our meals to preference , I’ve got ASD and ADHD kids so have some fussy eaters, textures can be a problem. I try to have a theme but adapt it … it’s hard at times but I don’t want to eat stuff I don’t like ❤
love your show Jen! don’t sweat the worcestershire sauce. You kinda have to be from New England or more likely from the Boston area to pronounce it correctly. A lot of folks have trouble. It is an awesome condiment!😁
Those dinner sauces used to come in a bag and were branded for crockpot meals. The Pub Style makes the best pot roast on the planet! My family couldn’t get enough when I’ve made it in the past. I haven’t been able to find it recently. Now I know why. They were repackaging it!
I agree Aldis produce is better and cheaper than the other grocery stores. I bought one thing from Temu. A pair of tennis shoes for 4.99. I gotta say they are really comfortable. I wear them for yardwork. Hope your having a good summer!
I laughed at your comment about Worcestershire sauce and you tube. My son is a you tuner so I get the activity comment. Lol And I pronounce it the same as you
We love the cauliflower crust pizza from the produce section of Aldi! We only buy our cauliflower crust pizza from either Aldi or frozen from Costco. All others we have tried are not good tasting to us. Thank you for your videos. I live in Des Moines and I love them!
Do you have any videos on how you do your steak or chicken in the sous vide? I have one and I’ve only used it once, and I really need to start using it but I’m really nervous.
I struggle with temu as knockoffs often involve stolen designs - especially if you are part of the paper crafting world - designs are “borrowed” for stamps, stencils etc.
Baaahahah….I get more engagement by pronouncing it incorrectly so I’ll probably just keep saying it wrong…CLASSIC….😂😂😂 You do you, Jen! You’re correct, we love you just the way you are! ❤
Those black containers we just keep the ones we get from take out. They last for a really time. I have those Rubbermaid containers but never used them for lettuce. I'm going to try that. Autonomy over food is a good thing especially as the kids get older. I haven't tried temu yet, but my friend got her Stanley cup from there. I love Jia ❤
Hi Jen, Great video as always. I love my salad Spinner. Great grocery haul from Aldi. I love organizing my food. I am a QVC Queen and I use Lock and Lock Stirage containers. Ir’s great! I love your channel, love your sister, Kristen, as well. Kristen should think about doing RU-vid too.❤️
Thank you so much for the inspo! I haven't been to Aldi in a few months but since they implemented the new pickup system I've been tempted to pick up some staples that are cheaper there even with the convenience upcharge. And I need to go in store for strawberries this week to finally get my freezer jam and strawberry lemonade concentrate made up for the year 😁
If you have tried Dot’s pretzels and like them….the pub style pretzels at Aldi taste ( to us) just the same. Much less expensive also. I haven’t seen a few of the things in this video at my Aldi yet. I mostly shop there, Hy-Vee and price chopper for sale items. I was told Worcestershire sauce is pronounced Wooster sheer. It’s W sauce in my house
Are you going to or have you caught a show from the Era’s tour!? I went twice-once in Pittsburgh mid June and last weekend in Cincinnati! Best. Concert. Ever!
I have gotten some good stuff from Temu, and I pronounce "Worcestershire" the same as you. So I guess we can be wrong together (but I think we're right!)
I've been living in England for over 16 years and even the natives sometimes pronounce Worcestershire incorrectly 😂😂 jalapeno drives me crazy here! So it is what it is. Many blessings gorgeous and btw you have no lines. Your skin is gorgeous and your doing a great job. I'm not going to lie however. I'm sure it's extremely effective but creepy masque xx lots of love
We have a small dog and almost got that rainbow bed for her! But, it was 20 bucks...if it had been like 15..we would have gotten it..I just thought it was a little high for Aldi..plus she already has like 6 beds! 😂
I think you ate pronouncing it correct. Ive heard Rachel Ray and others saying it the way you do and Ive always said it that way and Im a stickler for being correct but either way we all know what people mean. I dont sweat the small stuff. Life is too darn short for all that.
