There are 3 silverback gorillas who has their own troop/family in Japanese zoos. Each of them have different characters. Shabani (26 y/o, Higashiyama Zoo) is the father of Kiyomasa and Annie. He often plays with his children and beats his chest a lot. He is famous as a "handsome gorilla". Momotaro (22 y/o, Kyoto City Zoo) is the father of Gentaro and Kintaro. He has a calm personality and a good husband for Genki. He likes to keep himself clean. Haoko (29 y/o, Ueno Zoo) is the father of Komomo, Momoka, Riki, and baby gorilla Sumomo. He is a giant silverback and his face is grim, but he loves his troop gorillas so much and is so gentle. The family silverback is the best. 🦍💖 They have to be happier having a family then living in a bachelor group, even though fun to watch them play. Shabani is a great father, though I think sometimes he loves to blend in as a brother to Kiyo. He's such a playmate to his children. He's awesome! Momotaro is such a gorgeous gorilla, and yes, he is a very calm gorilla. He doesn't present a lot of drumming, or a lot of playtime with his boys, but he does love them and Genki dearly. Haoko is a big boy. He is 29 y/o and I don't see much play in him either, but Riki does it for him...hehehe. You can tell that he loves Momoko very much and loves to be by her. He watches over his family closely. He does appear to be a calm and gentle silverback with a big family to love him back. And his grim looking face is adorable...love watching him eat. Although they do not know it's Father's Day, I wish them a great and happy day. I love them all. Thank you, Gorilla Forrest, for this video. 💖💖💖

These 3 from Japan are awesome! Like humans they have different personalities, but there is no doubt they are loved and respected by their females and kids. They've shown themselves to be fierce protectors, loving father's and mates, and kind and patient with their kids. They know when to be playful and how to discipline for the situation as needed. These are 3 of the greats. Globally there are others who belong in this groups (Oumbi, Kelly, Winston, Charles, etc). Wishing them a great day and continued love and success.💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
Happy Father's Day to the Big Three! And although his brother may get more attention, my favorite is definitely big man Haoko. Aside from being a great troop leader he has an adorable wrinkly face, beautiful eyes, shaggy arms and the best fluffy silverback butt of them all! ❤❤❤

I feel bad for Momo too. He’s like someone who didn’t know how to swim & got thrown into the deep end at such a young age. Not having a Silverback in your life makes a huge difference, Momo is an example of that lack of influence & I think I read he was separated from Momoko at 7…? 💔
@@PraiseHIMthroughthestorm I am not aware of his story. I get the videos in different order, so I get confused. I saw him try to snuggle his young one, those big hands though, he just tried so hard. I'd love to know more about him.
@@doorschick89 From what I’ve learned Momo’s father died, Biju, while Momoko was pregnant with Momotaro. They were in an enclosure next to Monta, the lone Silverback 😢. After Momo was born & around age 7, Momoka was taken to the Ueno Zoo to be paired with Haoko. Someone plz correct me if I’m wrong but this is what I’ve read so far…so Momo grew up isolated till he was 10, by then he was a Silverback. He was sent to Kyoto Zoo to pair with Genki. There are videos of Momo first arriving. It’s hard to believe he’s a year younger than Gentaro. ❤️ I hope this answered some of your questions. Love these beautiful 🦍❤️
@@PraiseHIMthroughthestormThat's right, he lived alone since he was 7 for handle the zoo (that zoo must be close if Momo doesn't be there). He became a silverback when he just 10 and then he met Genki, 1year later Gentaro gave birth. 🦍

@@justbreathe_ I agree. I think the last weight I saw for Haoko was or is 500 pounds. Momotaro is considered small at near 400 pounds, but he is tall at about 6 feet. Either way, doesn't matter because they're all magnificent.😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
@@yvonnejones9940 he was 418 lbs the last time I saw him on the scale near their computer. I think Gentaro is going to be a big guy. I imagine Kintaro smaller but heavily muscled.
@@justbreathe_ I think Momotaro may be the trimmest (and possibly the fittest), due to all the climbing he does. His enclosure, being smaller than the others, makes what use it can of the vertical space, which is conducive to lots of climbing. There is not much room for other forms of exercise, but judging by Momo's physique, it seems to be an excellent workout! They are each stunning and magnificent, and I love them *all* !!🤗💗💪🦍🦍🦍
WOW! The picture at the very beginning of this video *really* shows the resemblance between brothers Shabani and Haoko. I've never seen it quite so vividly before!😲🤗💗🦍
There really is. Bauwi is the oldest brother of Haoko and Shabini and was as handsome as his brothers. He resided at a zoo in Holland , but sadly passed away recently. However there's a lovely video of him baby sitting his kids all 9 of them. 💖💖

I had never made the connection between Bauwi and his brothers before (so thanks for that), but I *have* seen Bauwi before. He is the father of the famous twins N'Hasa and N'Kato! Such a lovely family! Bauwi was *indeed* very handsome. I haven't seen enough closeup footage of him to notice any resemblance to his brothers yet, but I will, for sure, be looking for it now! I also had not heard of his passing.😢 Such sad news, but thank you for that update.🙏🦍💗

I don’t think so, yes he’s a great dad but Shabani raised his daughter from babyhood up , grooming, because she was rejected by her mother protecting her , defending her and love her very much. If wasn’t for Shabani maybe Annie wouldn’t have survived. Google a gorilla raised by a silverback and humans
