This is so cruel that even from far away (as a german) I commemorate the victims and their relatives every year on this day. Their feelings must be unbearable. I'm so sorry. 💛
10th year anniversary 🙏May that 304 souls including 299 students R. I. P🕊️🌼I can't able to control my tears 😭🙏Today I listened to "Spring Day" song for uncountable times and I cried a lot💔
I still remember hearing the wailing of parents calling to their children across the water. It was heartbreaking to see. I can't even imagine the despair the families were feeling seeing their loved ones falling below the surface waiting to be rescued
I was aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard when we was assigned to assist in the search and rescue. I have never seen the sailors on that ship pray that much. I still remember seeing bags, shoes and debris on the surface.😢
This tragedy is horrific. The ship was modified then inspected and then further major modifications were made after inspection. How could this happen? The ship was overloaded with excess cargo beyond its certification. How did this happen? The ship's steering needed repairs but was ignored by the owners. And on and on. But the most chilling is the call by the ships crew to the passengers to stay in their rooms. Its absolutely bone chilling when you realize that the crew was still telling passengers to stay put even as the captain abandoned ship.
¿Did I read that Captain Lee did not play the shipboard safety video and did not conduct a lifeboat drill during the the time the MV Sewol Ho was delayed in port by dense fog?
This does not compute. Coast guards were not able to rescue anyone but little fishing boats managed? My heart goes out to the families affected by this terrible disaster. May those responsible be brought to justice and closure be brought to the grieving families.
I remember watching this live when it was happening. I felt so sad for the families who were treated horribly. They want them to be quiet and forget....
I have seen the whole story, it is very rewarding, I wish patience to the families of the victims, I offer all my condolences to them frankly, the first time I hear about it, the story has reached an Arab country late. I think there was also a mass death case that led to the deaths of 32 people in 1987, and the same person from the crew of the ferry that sank. His body was found in the orchard. This story I just read on the websites.
The US military was circling the ferry, begging to be allowed to board and rescue people. The Korean government refused again and again and sat on their hands while hundreds of kids drowned slowly in the dark.
a youtuber by the name of rotten mango has a detailed and lengthy video about the whole incident if you want to know more, but from what i’ve heard the coast guard along with the government itself was very incompetent with their knowledge, and prideful about accepting help from other countries (the US tried to respond.) and even depended on volunteer divers to help break in and retrieve bodies after the ship was submerged. horrible tragedy, and all the details of neglect, incompetence and misdirection is haunting.
God only chooses the most perfect, beautiful flowers for His Garden....I send my loving prayers of peace and comfort to all who have been affected by this unthinkable tragedy.....may happier memories of your loved ones bring you peace and may God bring an abundance of comfort to your souls....in loving kindness i wish you all the very best of peace and comfort....🕊🌷🌬🌟🌟🌟🌟
After 10 years someone is still waiting to go to trial???? My country (NZ) is not perfect but that kind of BS would not be tolerated, especially concerning the circumstances of the tragedy......looks obviously dodgy. Didn't the president at the time serve time....and this geezer hasn't?? Who's he related to then??
After a debriefing to her professor at the maritime university, said professor declared that Park Han-kyul (Third Officer until Coast Guard Headquarters gave all authority at the scene to the master of Patrol Vessel 123 at 0916) did nothing wrong. If you want a merchant marine investigation, ask a PhD candidate to do his/her Doctoral Thesis based on the laws and customs of the sea, not the land-locked criminal justice system. Given & question: Given the fact that regular Captain Shin submitted a request for maintenance on April 1, Captain Shin knew the mechanical condition of the MV Sewol Ho. Question: ¿Did Captain Shin know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the MV Sewol Ho was going to sink during the April 15-16 voyage? If so, was this knowledge the reason he was fired? I remember reading that Captain Shin was under a gag order from the company for reporting other safety hazards. ¿Did Captain Shin survive the sinking by being absent from his duty station?
They died because of the captain said do not move and if you move it will be dangerous 58 people did not believe the captain and they survive. The 244 people believed the captain and they died its the captains fault because he wanted to be rescued first
I feel terribly sorry for all those who had to lose their lives due to someone's irresponsible, stupid, greedy and coward actions. RIP all the victims in Sewol and divers and firefighters who died due to this disaster.
