I'm a Manchester united fan since the 80s, and I still admire this man anywhere he goes, a legend and my top five fav players of all time. I hope he achieves success in management as well and become one of the best like he was as a player.
What a speech lad I’m the same age as Wayne I’ve seen him made his first game at United!! I was sat in the north stand he scored a hatrick!! He was and I’m not joking the most naturally gifted player not only for England but world football.. he could off done at Barca or Real Madrid fergie knows that as well.. but back to Wayne he is a real talent you only have to watch the goal against Newcastle.. what a goal anyway… thanks Wayne for the memories 😢👍🏻👍🏻
i remember when barca and chelsea wanted to sign him for 50 miilion pounds amidst the 2011 contract fiasco with the glazers, glad he stayed at united. he did fizzle out relatively fast but he had a good 10 year run from 2004-2013. always loved his ferocity. bless up DCU
This is a different Rooney than what I’m used to seeing in the media. He’s more intelligent, and hyper football intelligent, than people give him credit for. Did amazing at derby and the move to MLS surprised me. Good luck wazza. Best united player of all time.
I like Rooney a lot, but in no way is he United’s greatest player ever. Bobby Charlton, Roy Keane, and Giggs were far more important to United and United’s history then Rooney.
I sent this to my business team for motivation, thank you for the words of empowerment Rooney. This is how life should be approached in anything and all you do.
Wooow! Think it’s safe to say all us English fans of a certain age who watched Wayne come up from a 16 year old are proud as fuck at how far this guy has come man! It was like yesterday watching that kid smash the ball onto that crossbar and in past Seaman for Everton! Jesus am i that old! Life is a trip man! He seemed like such a shy guy back when and now the head coach! Wish you all the best broskie! 👊 Spurs!
@@simanoreddevil7636 Rooney played in a tougher environment in football if that's makes sense. He was the goalscorer to be fair Today you score a couple goals and media calls you the goat 🐐😂
Leeds United supporter here, you've recruited our lad Mateusz Klich, lovely fella. I wish him and D.C united the best for the coming season. Only one way to go and thats up. Marching on Together
He's got our leeds mentality mate thats why i think us leeds fans connect with him even though he was scum. Honest beast of a player, never went down ever. Dying breed MOT
Leeds fan here, and I'm not bothered to say I always loved Rooney. Never went down, honest beast of a player. Hope he does well and I'm sure he will. Dying breed
Well done Wayne.. You were reared with the greats of Everton F. C when "Nil Satis Nisi Optimum" actually meant something, great to see you still demand them levels. Wish you all the best in your career. 💙
Imagine all the qualified, more experienced US coaches that got passed over for Rooney. At some point we have to create our own coaches and stop hiring foreigners with little to no coaching experience.
@@keithbrandon3660 I like your optimism. I don't even hate Rooney but I find it shocking that he is a head coach over here in the US. Even in England he's only 2nd division. Somehow over here he's better than anything we can produce domestically. Sad.
This is from a Brit in America. I think the problem he's having is, yes Football(soccer) is Football. However, Americans are not the same as English people. They have a whole different attitude. They have an enthusiasm. Brits have a more Conservative attitude, and I think Brits will be on that level. The way he's talking sounds like he would bring Americans down in tone. He needs to channel some, "Hey man! New season, let's do this bro!" It's almost boredom and dead serious.
Yeah. He's awful. You can feel the dread in the room from the players oozing into the video. The silence.. He just needs to give up. He ran away to America because he was laughed out of the UK. Let's all be honest. He's woeful.
100% I feel sorry for those players. Rooney is no true manager. I hope people realise that soon. His name can only take him so far. But he has the charisma of a moose.
@@jgunner94 His voice is boring and monotone with no energy or passion. It’s not just what you say but how you say it. That’s basic public speaking requirement.
@@cityzens634 I say more calm and collected, he’s a born winner and naturally competitive person, he’s clearly laying down some basic fundamentals - I’d rather want this from a seasoned leader/winner
Can see why it never worked out in England for Rooney as a manager. He sounds like something from 1980. He is just saying cliche after cliche. That speech was woeful. I couldn't blame the players for falling asleep during that.
Why would anyone watching from Liverpool need help? Pretty sure a Scouser is able to understand another Scouser. Also, "youse" IS a colloquial way to pluralise "you", used quite widely across the UK and Ireland, and I'd say it's roughly analogous to the American "y'all".
@@YaBoyRagnarsty look up youse in the oxford concise dictionary!. . . I do take your point about it being a colloquial term but that doesn’t make it right. The English language is a wonderful thing.
Your average DC resident would have a very hard time with his accent. His message was great, and if you want your fan base to grow, it is good that they understand what the leadership group expects of the team.
