I remember being the champion of galaga after rolling it back to 0. I remember hitting stage 99 and was like its mine now. My pitiful claim to fame... but it sure meant a heck of a lot to me at the time. I wouldnt trade that childhood memory for the world.

I’m 25 now… I wish more people in my generation and the younger kids grew up with these games instead of the crappy games we have now.. these new games just don’t keep me hooked like these amazing classics still do! 80s all the way!
I didn’t play this until the 90’s and man did it get me through a great childhood !!! Did anybody want him/her to get the second ship on level one so he/ she could breeze through and get a perfect score on level 3 ??
Why do plebs take it upon themselves to tell you you're bad at playing, and that they would easily beat your score. How bizarre is that. They must be suffering from a severe case of small man syndrome. How pathetic. I haven't played it that often either, but you're a damn site better than me at playing it.👍
Crazy! My favorite of all arcade games, I learned skills and shortcuts from friends and got pretty good. I could spend a few hours on here with just a couple of quarters. Best of my childhood memories. Looking at this video, I would've snagged my double on Stage 2 (Boss Galaga) and use him to pound my way forward to the "hidden transport stages". Serious players will remember. So much fun!
Oh man I LOVED this game. I was 18 in 82 and a couple buddies and I would play this game for hours. The game's gone but I still have those same friends :)
There's a secret about this game... At the beginning, spare the blue Bee at the top far right and let it be for about 20 minutes. Doing so, everything will no longer fire at you, but still they could crush against you... which will be very agressive. Many years ago I bought at a Mall a console with 78 thousand games (Which is not true because many are repeated games and some others anything... however, you do have Mario, Galaga, Pac Man, Defender, etc, etc, etc). To play I need an old TV.
It's hard to believe we're all in our 50s now, and there are no more arcade game rooms. Arcades were our favorite hangout places. If I had all those quarters back, I'd be a rich man now. Lmao!
Of all the sweaty esports titles out there, this one never fails to get my blood pumping. I still hold the high score at some arcade in Colorado Springs
A lot has changed, and not in a good way. Life was so much better without internet. Asteroids, Galaga, Donkey Kong, Centipede, Space Invaders, Frogger, PacMan. They made going to pizza parlors so much fun!!
Class of 1986 here, Ahhh the memories. All the hot blonde rocker chicks wouldn't give me the time of day so I spent a lot of time playing Galaga and Centipede.

Galaga is a 1981 fixed shooter arcade video game developed and published by Namco. In North America, it was released by Midway Manufacturing. It is the sequel to Galaxian, Namco's first major video game hit in arcades.
The technology jump from Space Invaders to Galaga in just three years is astounding. Both are absolute classics, but the movement of the alien ships show just how fast arcade technology was moving back in those days. So much innovation was poured into these (and many, many others) games.
I use to play this game in 1982 and 83 finish all the stages few times 256 stages and the machine turned off and on itself, three times 99999 and 600000 top score and only 2 bonus in the whole game.
Nope, the game doesn't turn "off and on itself'. The machine has to be turned off and back on manually. This is because on the glitch screen, the screen stays paused. Thank you. :)
I used to play this back in 1981 after school on the way home. There was a Dunkin Donuts on Fordham Rd. in the Bronx that had this game, such fun times..
