Discover the exciting world of combining DIY engineering and retro gaming as I show you how I connected my wireless Xbox 360 controller to my GameCube to play SOME GameCube games (lol), without breaking the bank on a genuine WaveBird! With the help of a Arduino, USB Host Shield and some spare parts I had lying around, I've come up with a clever and cost-effective project that brings wireless convenience to my GameCube gaming sessions. As of yet, it does not function 100% correctly with every single game but have been proven to work very well with a one I had actually tested: DragonBall Z: Budokai 2. I am putting this project out there so others may either work out the bugs and/or find inspiration on it to build upon from it and make something unique. Whether you're an Arduino pro or a budget-conscious gaming enthusiast, join me for this unique experience that combines old-school gaming nostalgia with somewhat modern wireless technology :P. Don't forget to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and hit the notification bell for more projects! Let's dive into this amazing gaming fusion together! 🚀💫🔧🕹️
Special Thanks to Nicohood (NIntendo Library), Oleg/felis, Lauszus and other developers of the USB host shield 2.0 library as without their contributions - I wouldn't have been able to do this project. :)
Things needed:
1x Arduino Uno R3
1x Logic Level Converter
1x USB Host Shield and its Arduino Library
1x Nicohood's Nintendo Library
1x Xbox 360 USB Reciever
1x Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
1x GameCube Controller for parts - You need the cable that connects to the controller port on the GameCube - Wire to Male Port cable
