What she's saying in this song is simply that she's starting to fall for some guy and she's trying to rationalize away those feeling because she's afraid to fall in love because she's had her heart broke too many times.

"IT" is.....attraction. Too many people equate being attracted to people to being in love when it's not. She also admits the way she was feeling scared her. If you've ever been in love and hurt bad...you can be cautious. She tried to down play love (protecting herself) calling it "a second hand emotion" while telling herself at the same time it was ONLY...chemistry/attraction.

@seanboulderformerlymel3000
@seanboulderformerlymel3000 2 года назад
Here’s what I’ve deduced from watching a few of their videos: Brad is one of those judgmental personality types. He forms judgements then asks questions-not out of intellectual curiosity or because he actually wants answers but because he wants to suggest that he’s smart and everyone else isn’t up to par. He seems like the argumentative type that would argue with you about the color of the sky for years on end. Lex is actually very smart, but she dumbs herself down to appease him and avoid confrontation. I think that’s why their relationship works. It works in the context of reacting/review as well. She softens his sharp edges and makes their videos more tolerable. Lex is amazing in more ways than she probably realizes. That’s not to take anything away from Brad in the context of reacting. I’d venture to guess that he has issues which he can’t help. Their dynamic works like magic in the context of reviews/reacting and it’s why they have so many subscribers. In a context outside of reacting/reviews-that’s tough. But yeah, I don’t think he’s actually looking for an explanation unless it’s in support of what he already thinks. What I think a lot of these young people don’t understand is that art is not meant to be literal. Music is art and in a lot of ways it’s intentionally ambiguous so the consumer can interpret it their own way. “It” is whatever it means to you.

Brad, I like your trying to get the full meaning from each song but there are many songs that REALLY don't have a full or complete meaning but just sound great. I think you should just try more to enjoy the music & song in general. Brad & Lex Rock!

I think you idolize Lex, which is not a good thing. You also do not notice how much more insecure she is in existence than Brad. And your last remark shows to me you haven't got a clue about real art either; if anything goes, then nothing goes as well ... 😁

A singing coach in another you tube video analyzing Tina Turners voice said she thought that Tina's voice was affected by her childhood in Nutbush Tennessee where she was working in cotton fields, and people had to call out loudly and communicate with loud voices over the distance. and between houses people would call out to each other because of no telephones. The voice analysis from the coach said the same thing mentioned in this video.

This was written by Terry Britten & Graham Lyle, who wrote "Devil Woman" for Cliff Richard that you reacted to 3 days ago. Originally offered to Cliff, he declined it. Then offered to Phyllis Hyman, who wanted to record it but Arista Records honcho Clive Davis didn't approve. Then they offered it to Donna Summer, who sat on it (not literally LOL) for two years. Bucks Fizz, a British pop group with both a male & female vocalist, recorded it but decided to have it sung by the guy and in a faster tempo. They never released it because Tina beat them to it, releasing it in 1983. The rest is history, as they say.

The song was written by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, who originally offered it to Cliff Richard, but it was rejected. It was then given to Phyllis Hyman, who wanted to do the song, but Arista Records head Clive Davis would not allow her. The song then was offered to Donna Summer, who has stated she sat with it for a couple of years but never recorded it. Some months before Turner recorded the song, the British pop group Bucks Fizz were offered it. Member Jay Aston requested to sing lead on the track after hearing the demo, but was told by the producer that it was unsuitable for a female lead vocal. The group went on to record it in February 1984, but sung by male member Bobby G. Aston recalls the demo was very similar to the eventual Tina Turner version, but their finished version was in a very different style. It was intended for possible inclusion on their next album I Hear Talk but was shelved when Turner released her version first. The Bucks Fizz version went unreleased until it was included on a re-issue of their Are You Ready album in 2000. The Original Bucks Fizz included the song in their reunion concert tour in October 2009 Until the release of "What's Love Got to Do with It", Tina Turner had not had a US top-ten single since the early 1970s. The single went to number one[8] on the US Billboard Hot 100 and remained there for three weeks, giving Turner her first and only solo number-one hit in the U.S. Turner was 44 when the song hit number one, at the time making her the oldest female solo artist to place a number-one single on the US Hot 100. In 1999, Cher, at age 53, became the oldest woman - solo or as part of a group - to have a US number-one hit, with her song "Believe". The song also spent five weeks at number two on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart, from July 14 to August 18, 1984, "When Doves Cry", by Prince, being the reason it never reached its number-one spot. At the end of the year, the song was ranked the second-best-performing song of 1984 on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100, behind the aforementioned "When Doves Cry". Worldwide, the song did well on the music charts, reaching number one in Australia and Canada. It peaked at number three in New Zealand and on the UK Singles Chart, becoming her highest-charting single on the latter chart alongside "River Deep - Mountain High" and "We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)". Elsewhere, the song reached the top 10 in many European countries, including the top 5 in Ireland, Sweden, and Austria. It also reached number two in South Africa.

"What's Love Got to do with it" is that you have a choice to get involved and if getting involved causes a broken heart, she'd rather not. Tina was such a gr8 dancer, the best legs in the business and her singing was superb. Tina went through a lot of physical violence with her ex- Ike Turner and she's just singing about being cautious in future encounters. But Tina found love again, she remarried; they live in Sweden & except for some health issues she has, she is doing gr8 now. "Better Be Good to Me" is another awesome Tina T. song.

Tina Turner's voice was explained that she had nodules on her vocal cords from working as a little girl working in the cotton fields, along with other singers who had raspy voices. They had to throw their voices to be heard.

Tina Turner has a presence that can’t be taught. She commands attention, it’s palpable and 100% natural.

What a great double act you are- Brad focuses on what the meaning of the song is and Lex enters the vibe to get the feel for the song.

Brad if you are asking yourself what the verses are about then you need to watch the movie what’s love got to do with it. After you know what she went through with her husband Ike by the 80’s she was a changed woman. She is amazing. I had a new found respect for her after everything she went through.

It’s about when your heart has been broken before and you don’t want to let the walls down again and be vulnerable.

It’s about the fear of commitment when falling for someone after getting your heart broken and not wanting to go through to again. The whole disillusionment of love after heart break and retrying to stay safe. “I’m not falling for that love thing again, I am gonna stay safely in the it’s just physical attraction!” Mind sett

Her and Ike played in a bar down the street from my great grandmother's house in North St Louis. She had a hard abusive life with him. She made it big without him. Love her attitude.
