If I remember right, I first heard of Marty Stuart sometime in the early 90s. I kinda rescued a cassette tape and some other misc. items from a friend's house that was on fire. The plastic tape had melted a little but still played. I listened to the song "Hillbilly Rock" and fell in love with it. I was playing in a "LOUD" rock & roll band at the time. I convinced the other members to begin playing a little country music. Marty Stuart has been an idol to me ever since. My mother loved Marty and his music for many years. He came to Columbus Ohio to play and my mother was 85 at the time fighting leukemia. I was able to get there early and save a place for her close to the stage, and take her behind the stage to briefly speak with Marty and Cousin Kenny before they went on. Once they began playing, my mom got up and worked her way to the very front of the stage and danced a little as the band played. She absolutely adored Marty and The Fabulous Superlatives. I don't think she ever missed one of Marty's shows. She lost her battle with leukemia a few months later, but told me that was the best time she had ever had in her entire life.

Marty Stuart has to be one of the most humble, grounded and real famous person I've ever heard. This interview was so riveting, I couldn't stop watching.

I'm an old rock n roll guy. The Who, The Byrds, etc etc. I didn't know Marty Stuart from Marty Robbins. I watched the Roger McGuinn, Chris Hillman "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" anniversary clips on here and became curious about the guys playing with them. I came across a gig that Marty and the Superlatives did in Suanee Florida. I was hooked because these guys reeled me in with instrumentals, McGuinn style hooks and great guitar work. Then I started buying cds and listening to Marty's career. Thank you Mr. Cody for an extensive interview.

Thank God! All these years I didn’t know that Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt had worked it out. I’m so proud to know that Earl went to see Lester before he died. ❤✝️

My late wife was seven years older than I was. Nobody believed it would last, but it did! I asked her once how she explained that? She said, "Boys mature much younger than girls." I told her that was exactly opposite of what most people think. Kathryn's response? "No. Known a few men, and none of them matured much more than 12 years old." She taught me a lot.

Marty, your comments about “the monster” inside of you hit home for me as I’m sure it did for many. That monster not only destroys the person he invades, but the family friends and people you love the most and need the most. The monster destroys who you were and if he can he will destroy you, entirely. My monster did incredible damage, but I put that beast in the rear view mirror. Some family never forgives. Some friends never forget, but you are correct sir: there comes a time when you must face down the monster - or he will destroy everything you ever tried to achieve. I’m happy to hear you bagged him up. I know the struggle to so was not easy. My best to you.

I love Marty Stuart and especially what he represents nowadays. But he's wrong about BB King being "the man who started the Blues". There were many black men who were playing Blues long before BB King. There were so many in fact, no single Bluesman can be considered "the founder of the Blues"..........it was an entire list of black men who started what eventually would be called: Blues music.

A few years ago I met Marty in a Colorado State Park. He spoke to me just like he’s speaking here. His interest in my little dog was genuine.

Saw Marty & His Fabulous Superlatives recently at the Paradiso Amsterdam. I was blown away! The joy with which they played! And seeing and hearing Clarence's telecaster again after 52 years! I saw the Byrds twice in 1970. I posted vids from the Paradiso gig.
