I'm using the previous CX 200 OS. I changed to it because the spin I can create is amazing. I have a sensative shoulder / arm, but have had no issues with this racket using poly. The head doesn't feel large, but similar to an Aero or Head Boom.

I bought two of the Dunlop CX 200 OS I also had the previous version as well. I love that the changed and loosened the cross string pattern. They do have much better spin and slightly more power also the control seems about the same!! Comfort level maybe slightly better I can say I am having no discomfort and the ball pocketing seems fine a little better because of the more open string pattern!

The new CX 200 I tried was a lot more stable than the previous version (noticeable when returning flat serves, which I normally struggle with). Has a lot more feel than Blade 98 v9. When I demo'd it I had added a lot of weight at the tip to bring to 325 SW, but it actually felt sluggish, so I think this frame might be better at low SW, which I'll try in the coming days. I've also noticed the Blade v9 coming to the shops at shockingly low SW as well, so maybe the new trend is to increase stability through technology and decrease SW for whippiness. I also noticed the sweet spot is near the center of the racquet face, whereas the Blade v9 sweet spot is more towards the tip.

Finally someone to review those frames. I have great hopes on new CX line. A totally revamp. More power and spin and less dense pattern. Someone i trust told me that it has more connected feel even than Blade V9 which is great but it became kinda more muted.

I have 2x cx200 tour 18x20 previous version to this. They increased the ra, that's not good. Mine are already feeling a little bit stiffer than the ra they have. To make it more comfortable they must have put more dampening technology in the frame. And the cosmetics are awful. I also have had the normal cx200 98 16x19 which is also great. My daughter has the Light version. I'm skeptic about this update

Larz, I wanted to let you know that I have seen the line in person at a store near by me and yes the racquets are highly unattractive . They look worse in person then in images .I placed them side by side with the previous gen and the previous gen is far nicer . It is the new red that hurts it and to a lesser degree , the orange . The red is called shin / shit red and the beam has been changed from a wedged beam to a box beam . The pocketing has increased . Be selective in string choice. The main purpose for the racquet was to have a higher level of comfort , while maintaining control . .6 and .3 percent increase in power and spin . The 16x19 95" may have a bit less control . The black and white grips are not helping it. Only the leather grip color helps , because of the color on the flying D sides . Lastly , elongated mains through a 1mm decrease in the upper hoop thickness . Look at the japanese dunlop sport cx 2024 channel and there will be a long description on the changes . You can decipher the descriptions . I spoke with a british player who play tested the new cx200 and he is being used for dunlops promotions . He told me the major difference , is in better comfort . The vibroshield in the handle helps . There is also anvenglish closed captioned in english review of the cx 400 from a Japanese male . You tube search this .

@@derekpappas1556 there is no such thing as secret ingredients. Carbon in a epoxy resin is the majority of a racket. Dampening materials added to the layup and or the handle. Foam or no foam as filling. A lot of stuff is just marketing bs.

Other than the cosmetics , there is no point in having a negative attitude on it , until you have tried it for yourself . It is overpriced in europe though . The lack of quality on the fit and finish , does not warrant the price increase there .

@CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy 3 месяца назад
@@benjaminjensen111 Yes. The unforgiving sweetspot will tell you exactly how bad you have hit the ball. For some players it's a nightmare, but for some it's a pleasure. Pure Strikes are unforgiving rackets compared to most other rackets out there.
@benjaminjensen111
@benjaminjensen111 3 месяца назад
@@CzechTennisGuy Well here I don't agree. Many Play testers will not either....The sweetspot on Pure Strike is known for being large and forgiving (atleast 3. gen) This is exactly its strength. The sweetspot is large and powerfull. Sweetspot is ca. 17 square inch with 30-50 % energy return (no swing). This was best in class numbers in 2019 for 98's and only few newer rackets surpass this with very little today like the Pure Aero 98. Sweetspot and energy return quite large compared to other 98's. Good power and spin potential. My go to racket. Maybe you had a bad string choice and too hard tension or a bad manufactured specimen.
@CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy 3 месяца назад
@@benjaminjensen111 The FSI Power string pattern was more forgiving in the 3rd. Gen compared to the new tighter FSI Control string pattern. And of course the high swingweight adds to the unforgiving feel, too. Pure Strikes have best in class manooovrlbity with unbeatable head speed. But this doesn't contribute to the unforgiving feel because the fast manooovrlbity is very sensitive to bad hitting point. And the quite specific headshape isn't unforgiving, too. I would say Pure Strikes are very unique. I like the new 4th Gen quite a lot, it has it's super powers when you can get the most of them. That really requires a lot effort. And I'm talking about the 98 versions specifically since these rackets are the most wanted for most advanced players.
@derekpappas1556
@derekpappas1556 4 месяца назад
The reason why there is a price drop is when they changed their price to $250.00 , few were purchasing it . The fit and finish was and is not worth the higher price . So with fewer people purchasing it , they needed to sell more racquets . The price as a result went back down , to suit the fit and finish . Look at the prestige and others . The cosmetics and the components along with performance , give them more value . The 200 LS may also be designed yo compete with the prestige mpl . To give you the ability to create your own pro stock

Interesting you mention VIBROSHIELD and the relation to Yonex Percept because I think it is either a copy of it or innovation on the Percept. One hint to this is who actually owns Dunlop now- was Srixon now acquired by Sumitomo Rubber Industries which is based and operates out of JAPAN. Same place as Yonex manufacturing. No Dunlop is not made in Japan(sadly), its made in China(as sadly) but no doubt engineering has gone into it from similar locations.

The japanese tire company , has no affiliations with yonex but srixon does seem to have now and since 2022 , a large interest in slinger and kswiss . They are now the sponsored products of the european tennis association , under dunlop . Dunlop is a sleeper company with a lot of influences , when your not looking . Diversify ! Head has done the same with auxetic 2 in the grip of the 2023 prestiges as well . They are all on the same mental sheet of music .

Look at the pure strike line here less dampening is used in 97 and 98 with only flax in handle more in 100 16 x 20 also flax in hoop and even more in 100 16 x19 and team and lite versions with rubber c2 pure feel in material so presumably people expected to have better technique will need less dampening and choose 98 and 97 versions. I think this asumption is wrong since some advanced players like larger head sizes too and some less skilled people like 98 head sizes. Dunlop does not do this and put a lot of dampening in everything. However they should have put less in the 95 models as they would most likely be used mostly by skilled players. 95 is small compared to 98

The Pure Strikes 2024 are great example of how it should be done in my opinion. Very crisp, still good comfort, top notch stability, precision and control. Lower spin potential, more of a horizontal swing racket, great for one handed backhand, slice, chip and charge, serve-volley, flat hitters. Feel is also very nice. Stiffness is fine for me. Great fast response, raw feedback. I like stiffer rackets 65-70 RA. Top tier Dunlops need customizing to get the swingweight somewhere between 320-335.

@@hybrid11theory75 I see. The comfort issues are always very subjective. I think the not so good comfort might come from the lower swingweight and lack of stability. In combination with a thinner beam this might be a problem. I think as many other players, that the Dunlop rackets are great platform sticks for a custom job. @derekpappas1556
@derekpappas1556 4 месяца назад
The previous generation of the CX's were designed as players racquets . Without any added weight in the head to stabilize it , the lightness then allows for more touch and feel in the shaping of the ball . This allowed for alot of maneuverability. When customizing weight and counter weight wise , you can make it your own . If adding weight , then you will have to muscle up . This then counters the added weight , by feeling it less or not at all . The newer version ,should have better stabilization and power. This then , would not need as much or any added weight . This allows for speed and comfort . Key is Comfort. Stability and Precision , while adding a little more power and spin ; were it needs it most . The problem is still the quality of the but cap , paint and cosmetic fit and finish.
@CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy 4 месяца назад
I would say this swingweight fits perfectly most intermediate players. Advanced players might need some custom job to beef the specs up to their taste.
@abcd-fs2de
@abcd-fs2de 4 месяца назад
@@CzechTennisGuy Sure I agree with you, but how many racquets from the lineup would you recommend to intermediate players? I would say, that 305 g racquet and heavier, with 98 inch head size, should have higher swingweight, unless you take it as a platform racquet. Maybe that was the intention!
@derekpappas1556
@derekpappas1556 4 месяца назад
@@CzechTennisGuy the problem of the last edition is in the balancing of the addding of weight vs the resultant level of touch and feel . To prevent this I would like to see better stabilization . The consistent need to add alot of weight , would disrupt the feel and create more hastles along with economic and mental costs . Racquets today seek to bring in the majority of players into their class of racquets and therefore dumb them down too much . This is why you see more of all 3 functions in all 3 class types of racquets now . Instead ! they show do a mid spin racquet with balanced power and high end control . Then ajust head sizes to grip size ranges , in a singular racquet . But of course they won't do that fully as yet . Lastly I would say that a player should really focus on the wright strings , gauges and tensions first after choosing your preferred comfort grip and shape . The wright size , weights and balance choices , should be a given . Then if the rest is optimal , one could add weight if need be . The weight adding game is a slipper slope . It realy ends up being about a stabilization and solidity issue and possibly less so a weight issue .
@derekpappas1556
@derekpappas1556 4 месяца назад
@@abcd-fs2de It is a platform racquet ! It would then with the added weight become a 200 tour . Note : no matter what you do , it will not have the stable layup of a pro stock racquet . You must do this with weight in the head and counter in the grip , but only after you work the strings first .
