Interesting comments about the CX200. I bought one of the last generation CX200 tours, which are on close out sale at TW, for $100. I previously used a Biomimetic200 tour and liked it. My first hit with the new one showed it needs extra weight, so I added 6 grams at 10 & 2 o’clock, and another 6 just above the grip. Now, it’s beautiful. Great feel, touch, and swing weight feels like it’s about 330-335, so it’s got enough punch. I ended up buying a second one.

Thanks Jonas and Nikki. I appreciate that you´re so honest testing these frames. Actually, that´s all that we tennis players have to know about the tennis racquet market in 2024 =) a kind of stagnation... all big manufacturers are playing it safe, PJ´s are mostly boring and cheap, QC is awful and they´re just using an old technologies with the new marketing names. In such conditions customization (even of quite old racquets) for what weight/balance/SW each player really needs will give much more than just buying a new stick under the influence of advertising and in pursuit of fashion

It had no real faults for me if I added some handle weight, but I wanted a little easier spin access and a little more dwell time--the exact two things they seem to have addressed. @magnusforce5
@magnusforce5 5 месяцев назад
I think what Nikki said about the lack of weight in the head of Blades probably applies more to the v8 version. The older versions (kblade, v4, v5) tended to have noticeably more weight in the head, higher average SW even without additional customization and they were considerably stiffer. So that's why older versions are still loved by many players for better stability, power and plow

Did you review the CX 200 tour 16x19 or 18x20? Why the leather grip only on the 18x20? Given that leather grips weigh considerably more than synthetic ones, how much does this factor in overall specs, making SW more a factor of grip type than racquet material distribution? This racquet line always confused me, and the reviews confuse me even more as they are all over the place, love, hate, power, control. Is there an issue with quality control at Dunlop or is this polarisation in preferences just a personal player issue? I am drawn to Dunlop racquets (my first graphite racquet was the legendary Max200G - loved it), but this confusion in reactions to them has turned me off so far.

@goldencalf5144
@goldencalf5144 5 месяцев назад
Making it light allows you to add weight where you want. I prefer racquets that are at least 10 points head light, so I add 15 to 20g weight in the handle, some lead at 3 and 9 and a tiny bit at 12. Some other players may prefer a more head heavy setup and add all the weight in the hoop. The problem with the Ultra Pro is that they filled the handle with foam. So you need to dig this out if you want to add silicone. I also don't like the string pattern of the 16x19. Too tight, I wish it was more like a Pro Staff.

I'm not 50 years old dude. I'm young and play at a high level and am a pretty built guy. Most rackets my mates have feel light in my hands. I don't get why they don't just put the weight there. Most high level players need at the very least 330g static weight. And these rackets all call for at least 20g additions... so why not add more weight so that high level players can just add a few grams to bring it up to spec. It makes no sense to have to add 30g to a racket. So if you ask me... I think they are doing this to pander to the delusional needs of amateurs who want to play with player frames. Otherwise no other reason to downspec these rackets so much.@@agradina
