Gravity-defying tennis rackets with massive sweetspot are here in a new generation with Auxetic technology. HEAD has saved the best for the end of its revival phase. All current models and racquet lines from the Austrian giant have undergone a revival treatment and an "auxetic bath". And it is the Head Gravity MP / Tour 2023 racquets that I have invited to the red carpet as the last of them. How did I "chat" with them? Famously. The racquets are very nice, comfortable, but again unexpectedly powerful, stable and accurate. Their philosophy makes them suitable for the modern style of play á la "I hit it like crazy" and it falls in. They are suitable for intermediate/advanced to tournament players who play vigorous tennis mostly from the baseline, but are not afraid to run to the net. For doubles specialists, the heavier Tour model, which is considerably more stable, is preferable. Physically weaker individuals, juniors and women will enjoy the excellent manooovrlbity of the MP. Enjoy the review!

Thanks so much for this review! I want to ask 1) can you compare the Boom MP vs Gravity MP? 2) I mostly play recreational intermediate level tennis (thrice a week ) and my style is mostly - try to play consistent (defensive) tennis shots from the baseline , wait for a loose ball and then I try to hit a winner - i Have a one handed backhand and often hit the ball out (trying my best to improve technique) - with my forehand I like to hit flat winners - I use backhand slice a lot (as I am often struggling to have enough time to go for one hand backhand winner shot) 3) Which racquet is more arm friendly or are they about the same? Boom MP or Gravity MP? 4) is the BOOM MP more forgiving - (in terms of sweet spot) and for one handed backhand ? Thank you very much ! hope to see more reviews from you! regards

Thank you for your comment and questions. Well, my favourite for your style of game is Boom MP. It's more forgiving, you can play very good flat shots with this racket, it has good precision and control, nice comfort and good spin potential, too. It's super quick to swing with, which should help your one handed backhand a lot. Gravity MP can suit you as well, but it is more demanding and requires better overall preparation phase, technique and shot placement. The great thing about Boom rackets is that you can really go for the shot and very rarely you hit outside the court, because the racket is designed to provide you enough room and space for overhitting. Just try the Boom MP, maybe buy the racket second hand and try it. Good luck and have fun with the racket.

@@CzechTennisGuy Thanks so much for your response! I tried the Boom MP , havent tried the Gravity or Speed MP yet. I really appreciate how you highlighted the difference between the BOOM MP and Gravity MP - this will help me in a big way (lol bec I like how the Gravity looks and don't like the greenish mint color of Boom MP, but of-course its stupid to choose a racquet only based on its aesthetics and appearance, so i will now compare based on the criteria you said and most likely will choose the Boom MP) 1) Can you also in the same way, compare the Speed MP to BOOM MP (i watched your review) but in terms of the preparation needed - is Boom MP less demanding than Speed MP? I just hope that I can also hit cross court forehand winners (crazy angles) with the Boom MP (if i get in position early and hit with good timing). I can hit down the line forehand and backhand winners with it - no problem! 2) They just released the limited edition Speed MP which looks so cool with the dark grey and black, thats why I will try the Speed MP but for me - the reasons you said why BOOM MP would work make a lot of sense. 3) Speed MP vs Gravity MP.....which requires more preparation and better technique... ? 4) Do you think the Speed MP , Boom MP and Gravity are equally arm friendly? (bec all have Auxetic) or would it be like 1. Boom MP (most arm friendly bec biggest sweet spot and most forgiving) ? > 2. Speed MP > Gravity MP (least arm friendly)? You are the only one on youtube to wonder - why is it even called "BOOM" MP!! bec it does NOT have much power! - i totally agree !! and was happy to hear this ! I did not get any excessive power from the Boom MP. I will use NRG2 strings at 51 to get some more power and keep the tension arm friendly. Thanks again for your authentic reviews and for your advice! Wish you loads of success on youtube + success and fun in tennis! Regards 🙏😎

@@user-xr3cu8wl5t Thank you for your nice words, I appreciate it a lot. 1) Speed MP vs. Boom MP = they have in common the feel and comfort. But as I mentioned in the video and you were pleasantly surprised about, Boom MP is actually underpowered compared to the Speed MP. I describe the Boom MP as a little more forgiving brother of the Speed MP. It's lighter, it feels quicker and it provides you with extra sweetspot on full swings. I would say that if you hit the ball wrong on a full swing with Speed MP, the ball will go far behind the line, but with Boom MP it will magically stay in the court. 3) I would say these two rackets are very close in terms of how good you need to be to get the most of them. Speed MP has probably little bit more control/precision points and Gravity MP has more power and pop due to the specific head shape that emphasize top part of the head (sweetspot), which can lead to dramatica increase in free power, whic is also very good in defense situations. 4) I would say actually that the best comfort you get from Gravity MP, then Boom MP and last is Speed MP. But they are all very close thanks to the Auxetic technology, so not a big deal. P.S.: One advice: Buy the racket you like the most also in terms of the looks. It's super important, trust me. If you buy the racket just based on performance, you will be dissapointed after some time, because if the racket is not visually pleasing to your eye, you will not never get the right bond with the racket and you will stop using it after some time. Thank you for your comment and I hope you will stay on my channel for future videos. See ya! ✌

I'm glad I helped you. Yeah, the new limited Speed MP 2023 looks really cool so it's probably the winner. I like the Gravity 2023, too. The design is elegant, more serious than the previous gen but still has freshness in it. So I don't know, both look great. But probably the limited Speed MP is more classic and tough in that sense. Well, I use the Artengo TR960 CT 16x19 which is almost all black, too, with some silver places so I would go for that. Generally I like black and darker colours also on clothing, shoes, so yeah, black wins.

Nice review. I tried the pro and the tour, haven't tried the mp yet. The pro was a bit too demanding for me, so I liked the tour more. But I am curious how the mp plays, as it seems that the mp is a bit less head heavy, compared to the tour. I think this will suit my game better. I probably do need to add some weight to the mp, 5 to 10 grams. Maybe some in the handle, and some at 10 and 2, to get a bit more static weight and stability.

A friend of mine is looking for a new racket and I had the possibility to try the new Radical MP 2023 and the Gravity Lite 2023, I really liked the Lite but for me it was too light, had no stability, not enough plow-through, the Gravity wasn´t doing enough for me, I only liked the feel especially when playing Slice. It felt like I had to do everything, the Radical didn´t suit me well. I think the MP would be a good choice then, even when I haven´t tried it out.

Believe it or not, the Gravity MP feels it has more control and feel. It feels softer and more connected to the ball. Stability might be an issue at some point, especially on the net, but overall the Gravity MP is a very capable racket. Shift 300 felt more powerful, straightforward and for sure a better option for one hander thanks to the better stability. So I think you chose a good racket for your tennis.

Really solid review. I am a Ezone DR98 user but willing to step up because I only have this racket due to my tennis elbow, which helped a lot. I am confident to move on. I am a 80% top spin player (can only hit flat on backhand) and my 2h backhand is my strongest weapon, among my potential to generate spin (very vertical swing) I am 190cm tall and love to make approaches to net, and use slice/drop shots when I feel like. I usually try to hit 2~3 times, then I angle to their backhand with mine and find an approach to the net. I like to make pressure! Not really good cardio nor knees due to injuries, so I can't keep much alive in point, what saves me is my top spin honestly, which is nuts. Would you recommend the Gravity MP? @CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy Год назад
The starting (stock) balance is the key. Take for example my current racket of choice - Artengo TR960 CT 16x19. It's a 305 g racket, but with a 315 mm balance. So the racket actually feels like a Gravity MP with 295 g. So I've put extra 13 g (with a dampener and overgrip) to the head - 3+3 g 6/9 o'clock + 2 g dampener + 5 g overgrip. And now the racket's balance is about 318 mm (unstrung) but the weight is around 318 g (unstrung). So the manooovrlbity for this racket is still very fast and the control over the frame is great. But if you do the same to a stock frame with 320 or 325 mm balance, you will feel the overall weight much more in the head and you will loose the manooovrlbity and control. So for custom jobs choose rackets with the most hand balance possible and with higher weight. There are not much of these rackets on the market.

I thought you have 2? Is it only for advanced player? What level of UTR/NTRP you’d recommend it to?
@CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy Год назад
@@akbarberlian I plan buying second one this season. I don't know exactly the level system, but I believe from 4.5-5 higher, at least. When you customize the racket to 320g unstrung like I did, it is suitable for advanced/tournament players.

@@CzechTennisGuy Hi Tennis guy, thanks so much for the review ! I'm currentlt playing and enjoying everything with my Artengo Control Tour 16x19 but I am struggling to perform short-lifted shot as the racquet is totally lacking the whippy effect I could feel with a Speed MP for example. I currently put a 6g lead at 3 and 9. Anything I could do more or any racquet you could advise to me ? My level is intermediate/competition in France. Best !

i just tested the mp (292 grams unstrung) sw 316 , but tour its hard to find . It is a good racquet.The only problem in that form cant withstand hard pace but with leather grip and some weight who knows...

I agree. Fast heavy balls are difficult to counterpunch with this racket as it feels little bit unstable especially against big hitters.

@@CzechTennisGuy thanks, I was thinking of considering this over Wilson Clash after seeing the review, but as I also play against big hitters, and I have elbow/shoulder issues, but I like this sport a lot, so which one to go to for? I am confused as I have considered Wilson BladeV8 or Yonex Ezone98L 2022 or Yonex Percept 100L or Head G.MP. L2023? Or any other suggestions please...
@CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy 7 месяцев назад
@@daviddav3427 Wilson Blade v8 for sure is out of this question - it's not good against big hitters and people even report arm problems when not hitting properly with this racket. Ezone would be better. From my last playtest, Percept 100 is great in all departmens, especially comfort and feel is excellent. So Percept 100L looks like the best option nowadays for you.
@daviddav3427
@daviddav3427 7 месяцев назад
@@CzechTennisGuy Thanks, I did watch that video about Precept 100, but I am yet to find the Precept in stores here, and meanwhile reading many of the users comments looks like Gravity MP 100 L2023 seems to be also a good choice except it is not stable against big hitters, how about Percept from that perspective also I think RA of Percept(66) is higher comparing with G.MP (59)? And considering mainly the arm-friendly factor as I often get the tennis elbow issues, which one between these two are the best Yonex Percept 100L vs Head G.MP 100L?
@CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy 7 месяцев назад
@@daviddav3427 The thing about the Percept line of rackets is that they use Servo Filter technology, which in my opinion does magic. It works like this: A transparent film placed between graphite enhances flexibility when pressure is applied and filters out unnecessary vibration. RESULT: 60% more flexible and 500% faster vibration dampening than graphite. So it's not about stiffness of the racket. Even a racket with low stiffness has vibrations. The thing is how fast the vibrations go away. The faster, the better for the arm. And with Percept line of rackets it works greatly. So the racket has power, stability, but also feel and touch, comfort etc. I would go for Percept.

Im confused, the gravity tour was rebranded to gravity team?
@Shankar-Bhaskar
@Shankar-Bhaskar Год назад
The MP version should have a thinner beam of 20 mm, constant all over. The head size should also be reduced to 95 square inches. The string pattern should be 18*20 and it would be the perfect racket for my game.

Mp vs tour which have.more.power ?
@CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy Месяц назад
The easy power definitely wins with the MP version. But the controlled and precise power is winning with the Tour version. It all depends on what you want. My recommendation is: Choose a racket you are happy with most of the time and don't chase something that you can take advantage of only when you have your best day. I would say that the MP version is enough for the majority of intermediate players.
