Play #1: As stated, the play was officiated correctly. The officials were in a good position to make the proper call. The secondary defender was appropriately positioned, and the call was accurate. Play #2: Block-Charge - illegal screen. The trail official needs to sell the call effectively. Ensure that you are not only pointing in the ball's direction but also designate the location for the throw-in. Take your time, employ proper mechanics, and slow down. After making the call, report, and then take the lead position. The center official can politely ask the coach to stay within the box to maintain order. Play #3: The illegal screen was correctly called. Please feel free to take your time; there's no need to rush. This was a play where the illegal action wasn't intentional, but it occurred and must be called. Play #4: The center official should have noticed the need for the lead official to step back into position after going down. That was a good call by the center official in recognizing this gap, as the lead official was not in position. Play #5: Block-Charge play - the lead official correctly identified illegal contact and a lack of verticality. The crew handled it well at the spot. The calling official went low when they should have gone high. Could you consider changing positions with the center's official opposite to improve visibility with the table?

Play 1 0:59 I really wish we could get an amendment to the rule on establishing legal guarding position before a player is airborne. Much like we have a rule for a shooter being in the "habitual act of shooting"... I think these block charge plays would be made significantly clearer if we added "in the habitual act of becoming airborne." I say this because on this play, technically speaking, the defender did obtain legal guarding position while the offensive player still had a foot on the ground. Not yet airborne. However, that offensive player was in the habitual act of becoming airborne, using that foot to propel themselves into becoming airborne. Thus, I do find it hard to fault the offensive player for the illegal contact when they were already in the act of jumping before the defender obtained legal guarding position, even though technically they were not yet airborne. Habitual act of becoming airborne. Does it have the merit to become a rule?

Play 1 away team's jerseys look to be illegal. There is no contrasting color on their numbers, nor a border that is a contrasting color, making the visibility of them very difficult for the officials (Rule 3-4-3e).

Looks to be a Collegiate game, by adjusted Block Charge guidelines for 23-24 season, this would be an offensive foul as the secondary defender establishes legal guarding position prior to the passer’s last foot planted

Hey Greg, Tim here in NC, have enjoyed your platform this past year. Question..since the foul is in the backcourt, going the other way, does the calling official stay table side since he's reporting or does he switch with the old center? Or is this something to be covered in the pre game?
