The ck jones chick beat was way more harder than that subtonic bs... his beat was some house music. Her beat could be a hit with the right artist on it.
Yo to those asking about my first beat in the battle with Dirty Snares, something must have messed up in editing haha cuz my beats doesn't change time and tempo like that lol. That cracked me up listening I was like "what is going on lol"
Don P vs Egomi From 29:12 to 32:10 is some of the most epic ishhh ever. When Don P played his track first, that was probably the dopest track that had been played all season UP TO THAT POINT. But then it was Egomi's turn... and he dropped the Photon torpedoes... and it was over.
Bruh I only been producing 8 months strong but I see the improvement in my production it's a skill that has to worked at over time so dont beat yaself up so much man keep going ✊🏾
I love this show but you need to have more than one judge for the finals next time. I know there are time and money constraints and this is not meant to be slight to anyone especially, J.Rhodes. With that said, seriously, to have multiple judges for almost every challenge and then leaving the clutch battles to one person's opinion is faulty no matter how unbiased the opinion. I still love the competition and think it would be an honor to compete but get yo things in order a little more next season.
Couldn’t agree more and I also don’t get it because the other judges were there the whole time in the background. Like why weren’t they involved? Didn’t make sense to me. Loved the series though hopefully they work out some kinks for season two.
agreed to not take away from the winner or winners, more than one judge more than one style of preference would have played a better judging of battle however, I do think Rhodes did a good job accessing winners with the lack of professional resources. Dope show any updates on new series being this was a few years ago?
Egomi is a hella dope producer. He’s very very creative and his Sound design is impeccable But to be honest Don P was the best to me. Don P beats simply out hit Egomi’s beats. Don P beats exemplified the very essence of hip hop. He had a raw and uncut sound with amazing energy. Egomi beats were super dope and his sound was more polished. Egomi = serious head bob Don P = serious stank face
lorenzo hardy Also Don P didn’t lean heavily on the 808 in his beats like mostly everybody else and his beats were still hitting hard. Which is an incredible feat and hard to do in this modern age of beat making. Everybody else’s seemed to lean heavily on the 808 to make their beats hit hard.
My two cents for next season lol: 1. Definitely have more than one judge critiquing each producer during challenges. 2. Have those judges provide constructive criticism. Saying things like "She edged you out a little bit" or "that's dope" doesn't really help the producer get better. Maybe discuss sound selection, mixing techniques, etc. 3. Be a bit more direct when judging. I understand friendly competition but you guys seem to beat around the bush and everyone ends up with at least a "participant medal". 4. The number rating system seems really subjective. Maybe rate in a more direct way. 5. Maybe select people who don't have prior contact to J Rhodes for the next season? This series came off a bit cheesy but overall it was cool to watch. No disrespect! I just love great content. Thanks for sharing!
Great series was really rooting for Jedidiah, but overall brought some talented producers together and def inspired me to get back in the lab more! Congrats Egomi!
Okay, first, CK Jones got robbed! Her beat was better than Subtonic’s in my opinion. Secondly, Dirty Snares is nice, but I didn’t think his beats were better than Jedediah’s in the least. Jedediah is a better producer, though Snares has improved over the competition’s run. Yet, mostly J. Rhodes and I picked the same producers overall. Don P. Is nice, too, he just kept getting put up against Egomi! Congrats to Egomi! He’s nasty! Snares choked at the end. It sounds like he pulled out old beats that he was holding on to at the end. All were good, though. CK was robbed!
I honestly thought the final battle should have been between Don P & Egomi. Those 2 were bringing it!!! Also, what happened to Jedidah??? I can't believe he fell off because dude beats be HOT!!! :)
Loved it to the max but I only had one problem and that was why if don-p was the wild card did he have to go up against egomi again? He easily coulda beat anyone else except egomi lmao 😂
To Maschine Masters, House of Beats, the competitors, everyone involved with production of the show, thank you for this. Thank you for inspiring us. Thank you for good content. Thank you from Nairobi, Kenya. 🙏🏾 Egomi wadup! Congratulations! 👊🏾 You definitely challenged me as a producer. Generic just went out their window.
Ok, so listen first I would like to say everyone did there thing but in the spirit of battle a few of the producers drop the ball on this challenge. I know I would want honesty in this situation so let me be frank. ●Jedi I was pulling for you but your beat selection at the end of the competition is what killed you. You brought the wrong weapons to war. It was a bazooka fight and you brought a 38.caliber. A 38 can kill a person but the likelihood of that bazooka demolishing you is higher. You played beats meant for an artist or the radio. They were dope but that's not what you play at a beat battle. You gotta get some gritty beats in your arsonal. You had the skill set to win it all but that was the difference maker. Lesson: Bring the right weapons to war. Also, no beat tags all through the beat. One at the beginning cool. That killed your vybe. Save that for when your posting yours online (formally.) ●Dre Dope producer... You got them R&b hits all day long. However, you fell short because of the same thing Jedi did. Beat selection.... I know R&B is your thing but if people throwing chairs in a room you not gone pick up a pillow and throw that at them right? You gotta get a gritty bag bro. Being able to surprise people and change up your style will make you grow. But your still dope I like your work. Lesson: Bring the right weapons to war. ●CK I really like what you did all season. The only weak point in the competition was the D.A.W. challenge. I'm not gone trip on you because of that. That was just to see if you could rise to the occasion if you didn't have your normal setup. However, I thought you were another one who fell short at the end because of beat selection. You have a what it takes to make it and be big. However, you gotta able to leave your comfort zone and make beats that fit the occasion. That's what separates ok producers from the A list producers. You really impressed me the whole season but you have show more diversity and range. You need a mixed bag. Get some grit under those finger nails girl... Oh I forgot, send that beat you played in the finals to ASAP Rocky. That's his lane all day. He get that it will chart without a doubt.... Lesson: Bring the right weapons to war. 2. Change it up. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. Have a wider range of beats not just what your good at. ●Don P I thought you were extremely dope. You definitely have your own unique wave. You were the only one who gave Egomi a challenge in the finals in my honest opinion. Your beat sounded like it belonged next to his in competition. It should have been you two at the end battling it out. Your weakness is in your mixing and engineering. Really the thing that made Egomi edge you out was he not only makes dope beats his mix is always top notch. If your mix was a little wider and those drums were punching and sitting in the mix better I would have given you that round. Lesson: Dope beats alone don't always make you progress. Work on your mixing and engineering and perfecting your sound design. That's the sauce that makes the meal complete. ●Egomi You are definitely a great beat maker but not only that you have mastered what it is that you do. You also have a comfort zone as well tho. You got the grit naturally that I was talking about that the others need. I'm not sure if you did it on purpose but I noticed you kept everything straight hard. You had boom bap, hip hop/ EDM fusion, trap, a little of everything but you stayed away from the commercial stuff which was smart in my opinion. It's a time and place to pull those type beats out. But if you have some commercial stuff too in your arsonal I would have to say your ready for your shot man. Your mix is always clean and your drums are always clean and punching. You have consistency with everything you play and that I heard from you. I just wish that beat you played against Dirty Snares did what I was expecting it too. You had me thinking man this thing about to drop on my head and it turned out to be a silent killer. Lol, man you need to remix that and do the samething but at some point in that beat them drums need slap the sh%t out of us. That was my only disappointment with you all season. I was ready... Hell, I'm still ready. If you ever remix that joint please do me the favor of letting me hear it that's all I ask @sirmalikcobra@gmail.com Thanks in advance! Lol You deserved that win...Great job Lesson: Just build on what your doing and start putting together some commercial stuff for radio and keep that same grit for the streets. You solid... ●Dirty Snares I think you got the sauce if you know what I mean. You just gotta make what your doing now stand out more. You definitely need more change ups especially for a competition like this. The beats you played were more for an artist to lay vocals over not to complicated and busy which is great for that. As far as competition you gotta bring it, those change up are what make the beat have character one or two not gone get it. Lesson: Work on your change ups. Make sure your drums cutting through the mix. They not punching. They a little too muddy. You got the sauce its missing some salt, pepper, and basil. Good job overall tho... ●Bates You got that grit and you know what to play. However, you need some sauce. You gotta learn to take your beat and flip it so it has better character and draws us in more. If you hear a 10sec snippet of something dope immediately you know if you want to hear more. It doesn't take long to draw someone in with a beat but it has to have that it factor. The sauce.... You gotta start developing what you already do well and then find different ways to put a spin on it. Also, I thought you beat out Willy T in the finals. Lesson: Never choke your audience with dry pasta. They need that sauce... The finishing touches are important. You also need to start working on your change ups. Be more creative. ●Subtonic Dope beats, nice mix, just lacking those change ups. Also work on beat selection. The beats you played earlier in the season should have been used in the finals. In addition, add some grit to your arsonal. It's cool to have a preference but in battle bring battle weapons worthy of mass destruction. Save the stuff you preference and the radio stuff for other occasions. Overall your dope. A couple more little drops in your beats will take you over the edge. Season things up. Overall I think you were the most balanced there though. Your technically sound all around the board. Lesson: Break your comfort zone. Prepare a mixed bag not just what you like. Shake some salt on them thangz man... Change ups are your friend... ●Willy T Good beat selections. Knows how to bring the right weapons to war. Good mix. Sometimes you serve cold sauce tho... Inconsistency kills... You if play a beat that's a 9 dont turn around and play a beat thats a 4. Try to keep the same level of greatness with each joint. You got them joints but consistency is paramount. Also, a few more change ups and drops would take you to a new level. Lesson: Keep the consistency between beats tight. No cold sauce.... Add some tricks to the arsonal. Just don't create midi and not add the life into it. Overall pretty dope... ●TFO Creativity, Creativity, Creativity, you have it. However, now you need the sauce. Take what you do and add that element of surprise. When you listen to a beat you don't wanna know what's coming next. You shouldn't feel you know what's about to take place. When you do you start to lose interest. Allow the beat to be a crazy ass driver and your in the passenger seat scared sh%tless... You got skills just work on that sauce. Make what you do standout and be more noticeable. Your creativity shines through just bring the sauce also. Lesson: Bring the sauce... The element of surprise is missing. Make the beat feel like its going one way than hit us with the curve ball. Stay focused your dope... Can't wait for Season 2 Ok, enough of my babble, back to cooking up...! Stu life!
I really wanted to see more of CK Jones and Don P. I think they had plenty more fire in them. All of these are dope producers in their own right. Willie T pulled out some heat.,TFO is definitely on the rise, Subtonic showed out, Batez has his own style, Dirty Snares first beats came out banging, Dre Love gone bring that smooth vibe, Jedediah is very diverse and musical, but in the end Egomi IS a battle producer. His beats swing kick and punch every time, so you gotta put your gloves on to step to him. I thouroughly enjoyed this season, the concept, and the opportunity to watch this group bond, grow, and compete. Definitely some rising stars in this group. Applause to you all and the production team. Count down to season 2!
Great show...good a show with no beef, everyone waa into what they do, everyone was cool and everyone learned something and their was no hate going on... great!
Thoughts on this episode right here: Before I could go in on the analysis of it, I have to tell all the people in the competition that I'm proud of all of them. However, I do have to apologize for being busy on developing these styles. With that being said, I have to get to it. 1st Round: Now, Egomi with the bells and keys, then the orchestra, brass and drums, THAT gave it a sinister vibe to the themes of something such as the supervillains in a movie: however, Don P, he dug up that CLASSIC "Upgrade U" Beyoncé sample and flipped Swizz Beatz' style with the drums, organ, bells and everything else. Dre, he got people in a chill groove with Chicago House style at the beginning, then went Dubstep there, yet Jedidiah Productions gave us that modernized Timbo "Shock Value" feel with the drums and made it smooth. Willie T, proud of him for making College Football come to life! That Marching Band style and R&B blend gave us what we've been missing in football stadiums lately. Batez, he went Classic in a blend of Dre and Dipset with his own Cali flavor, but he only went on the foundation, hence why Willie T got him by a reach. CK Jones, once I heard the switch-ups and the layerings of snaps inside her snares with her high-hats and kicks paired with her 808 Subs, I was surprised with the grittiness. As for Subtonic, he went Dance Mode while adding in melody and certain effects to it, then used the piano with a Reggae feel. Not surprised by this one. TFO, she went on the smooth Zaytoven feel, which didn't hold weight to it much, far as hype went; however, Dirty Snares, he went on that grimey, gritty Trap feel with an EDM blend that could be something made for a theme for action supervillains as well. Exactly why Dirty Snares went in HEAVY! 2nd Round: Willie T, he went into that HEAVY Amp-ness in the smooth switch-ups with a sample that I see; however, Subtonic, he went heavy in switch-ups of the kicks and added certain sounds with bass glides. The reason why Willie T edged him out in that one was due to melody. Had Subtonic gave that melody, he would have dominated it. Jedidiah, he went smooth, far as a feel of Timbo and OneRepublic flow and the sound manipulation of his bass, but Dirty Snares, he went HARD in the sample and went smooth on it in the drums to lure you in, then added that heavy, yet soothing synth, change-ups on the other drums. Now, Don P, he went in on the sample, went from Boom Bap to Trap on the drums, kept the Ghost Notes of the Original Sample as a whole- BONKERS! But EGOMI? N'all, he took in that 808 Sub and went heavy on the sampling, the switch-up of voices, the drum layers and tweaks, a classic record and brass with orchestral coverings. That, plus the synths he did? Fire extinguishers ain't e'en enough for that. 3rd Round: Willie T, he went smooth, yet brought that energetic R&B feel with an Arabic and Alternative Rock flow, yet Egomi, he came in with a growling 808, some smooth claps, a synth for a bass, some drums. Jedidiah, he went very AMP on the bass and orchestral sound in the brass with pitched vocal sounds and drums, but Dirty Snares, he went in and upped in his sample with the 808 Sub and a classic sample move. Yeah, Dirty Snares edged him out on this one. However, when Egomi got up against Dirty Snares, Egomi sampled from Alicia Keys' "Fallin'" and did tempo changes that INTENSIFIED the crowd. Dirty Snares, he went on a classic Jermaine Dupri feel with that one. Then, Egomi, he went on a HEAVY EDM feel and went intergalactic. Felt like we were going through a video game. Dirty Snares, he went on another classic sample, but Egomi edged him out. Congrats to Egomi and shout-outs to Maschine Masters!
My guy!???? Ck Jones bodied that beat! Subtonic had one distinct difference in part of his beats switch up, that's all! Rest of his beat is regular, everyday stuff. Ck Jones beat was progressive and different throughout the entire track besides the end. Your dope Jay but you shouldn't be the judge bro, not making final calls at least! Voting.....that's different! The other young lady!! I apologize I can remember her name but her first beat was soooo much better then homeboys. Love the show tho!! CK JONES 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 ( LIKE A DIAMOND💎)
In all honesty even with all of Egomi's change ups vs Don P's beat in the wildcard round I still thought Don P's was better. The face I made when it dropped at half speed was like damn. In the end I still believe the best producer won Egomi had consistent heat throughout the entire competition. Even if he would've lost that, they would've brought him back and he still would've won.
I’m at a toss up between Don P & Egomi. Egomi because he has his own style but is able to transcend his flab’s across multiple genres & his beats be 🔥 af & Don P got some dope ass beats he got that knock & swag & his joints be clean
Am going with Don P diffinately, I feel like his able to deal with different kind of challenges as a producer like where he able to make a banging beat with such small amount of time. And still keep people banging their heads for that I was sold. Now with how fast paced the modern music is I think he deserves the Top spot
Egomi is a different species of beat maker. Don P is truly dope as well and Willie T has a true Detroit sound. I could eminem or royce on his production.
Egomi needs a movie to score that beat...And Ck is on some Rza sample manipulation shit but that Subtonic beat was nuts tho...Too much to speak on the whole video was fire
That 2nd rd battle between egomi and don p was the absolute best in the whole battle series. Sincerely think egomi, don p, willie t, and jedediah have the brightest futures in music. They in my opinion are the ones who stood out the most sonically.
The leaders board is on point in my opinion, but to be honest CK Jones is my 3rd favorite due to her "What's your name / who's your daddy" beat. Her bounce is possibly the best out of everyone. I still think it's going to be Egomi or Jedediah. They've been my favorites since the "It Factor" challenge.
Good first season!! I can’t wait for the next!! All the ladies represented and I was happy to see female producers getting some light instead of shade. Go ladies do yo thang!
I feel like Don P won that first round against Egomi but I believe Egomi won it all in general he definitely deserves the be the winner of this competition
I don't know how you judged this. Definitely some hard decision making. Good job y'all some dope producers. Definitely think they all should work together in the future
Willie T was hiding his game man !!! Damn ! To me that was definately one of the bigger surprise :) ! Egomi ... .GREAT SURPRISES TOO !!! and Don P ... Man pfffff crazZzzy, You rock guyzzzz ! Big up Jedidah too !!!! one of your beats man .... Thanks for the show ! Egomi is really good, I like some of his stuff, but to be honest Don P raised my eyebrows more . It's hard to have an agreement based on emotions and feelings but that's cool because a dope producer won, that's what matter at the end of the day ;) !!! Big up to all of ya !
watched every ep..love it, but must admit, anticlimactic man, seem almost everyone was off for some reason, or maybe I expected more from some people, will definitely stay tuned, but idk this beat battle felt off...ck jones track was dope, I hear scarface on it
S/O to all the producers though, great job!! But it could have gone to either Egomi or Don P fo real. But MM, we gotta figure out that "Wild Card" thing real talk!!! SMH 🤔
In my opinion I feel that Egomi has the most theory knowledge. His progressions definitely speak theory and he doesn't rely on drops and special effects as "much".
Todd Maek I think Egomi edges Jed on the theory side, BUT, I think Jed is SICK AF bcus of how he interlaces his stuff with EDM, AND I feel like Jed beat Dirty in the semi-finals...no doubt about it...Jed’s last track was super sick
