Yeah I switched to a tiny wide angle prime lens because we didn’t have a lot of room in the back of the booth, my bigger lens blocked that wire during the rest of my interviews. But it is was it is! F-- it, WE’RE DOING IT LIVE!

I have two Rat Rigs, a 500 and a 400 cube. They are both great machines, and have been good printers. The bed tramming is amazing and they do allow for BIG prints

Go for the 500, it is not much more expensive, and you can always print smaller, but not bigger

@@stevekay6895 I have a YT channel enter my name. I have two Bambu, two Rat Rigs and a new Prusa XL with 5 tool heads that is almost done. The RR are great printers, I don't run them fast, and they just work.

I measured my doorway, my printer would fit through. It didn't fit through the hallway corner. That's when I took the frame apart to upgrade the enclosure 2.0.

I wonder if they would be willing to help build a 500x500x250/300mm printer for print farm applications. I often find myself wishing for a wide and flat model that I can stack. Either way, it's great to see rat rig at formnext. And of course the wire lmao

I’m sure it could be done. Don’t want to speak on their behalf, but especially if you were ordering more than 1 they could probably do some kits with custom lengths of extrusion rails, and rods cut

Our farm is all made up of 500x500x300 precisely for stackability. It's a pretty common request from farm customers. We're happy to accommodate it for orders of 5 machines or more!

I would be particularly interested in the RatRig V-Minion kit, but I'm an absolute noob when it comes to electronics. That's the biggest stumbling block for me.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the biggest issue with the Vcore3 500 is that RatRig doesn't have a spool holder design that can hold 5 kg spools. Weirdly, I'm using the very nice Creality multi-kilo filament holder. That's not sarcasm, it's well designed and constructed. Maybe you can do a large spool holder round-up and review?

You could just design your own. Or just make a lazy way and use your slicer to scale one dimension up so it fits a 5kg spool

Was actually planning to buy a ratrig vcore3.1 at one point but then I saw how you had to source the acrylic panels on your own for whatever reason. And sourcing that on your own isn't that easy where I live so I had to drop it. Real shame tbh and imo quite the fail on ratrigs part as it's obligatory, you need at least the back panel for mounting the electronics and it should absolutely be included.

I purchased mine from a US vendor, but in hind sight, it does not have to be acrylic, I did something similar to my Ender 5 and used a sheet of 1/4 plywood and another with a sheet of hardboard like is used for pegboard. It supplies some rigidly to the frame, but is mostly used to hold the electronics. A lot of people use other mounts for the electronics. You can search for Rat Rig on a number of sights and find other solutions

You mean voron or ratrig? I would say ratrig as the fram is more spacious. I dont know if you have ever worked with a voron, but everything is pretty tight, not much excess room on them. As for idex, both projects have one more or less. You have a tridex, a idex based on the trident and is a mix of 250 and 350 parts, and you have also something in the works from ratrig based on the vcore. Previously they also had some bedflinger idex, cant remember the name.

How many colors (toolheads or color change units) can a RatRig support?

2, its called IDEX. But if you combine this with a filament changer, the parked Toolhead could change the color with a colorchange unit. So its basically little time lost, but not so much as in other printers where you need to wait till the filament got cut, retracted, changed, extruded

The title of the video is Rat Rig vs Voron. Then the whole video is only about the RR. Voron was not even mentioned. You should rename this video, "Interview with a Rat Rig representative"

Ratrig is a serious high performance printer. Voron is... well it looks nice and has that cool flying gantry... but the performance is poor compared to Ratrigs.

Lol, based on what? They almost couldn't be more similar execpt one uses front rail and the other top rail mount. The Voron looks better because the enclosure wasn't an afterthought. I mean, it wasn't that long ago that all Ratrigs were made from PETG and were open.
