The real time resonance analysis app is incredible. This is going to be a game changer for tuning your machine. To be able to see in real time what tightening of screw down on your rail or tightening your belt will do to the shaper graph will cut down tuning time from hours to minutes or days to hours.

It's been a great ride in 3d printing with Ratrig. I have 2 ratrig's, the smallest one and the biggest one. Very happy with the performance 💪🏽 Thanks Ratrig
The interface looks sooo clean! I can't wait. I'm super excited. The v4 is gonna be my first ground up build and I'm super impressed with everything I've seen so far. Can't till mine is ready
Absolutely incredible work from Mikkel, Helge and the rest of the team! The visual nozzle calibration is ingenious and will make setiing up IDEX printers so much easier.
Thanks for the updates! Love the update to RatOS and the live graphs, going to install it on my VMinion this weekend. Looking forward to getting my VCore 4 300 as I was part of the preorder.
Good job, guys! It's absolutely amazing, seeing the QOL features being implemented in RatOS! Hats off to Mikkel, Helge and all the contributors and the amount work they do! Actually, one of the reasons I chose RatRIg was exactly this! I truly hope you solidify your position in the 3D Printing space and help drive the innovations forward!
Very excited about the latest releases. I have a v core 3.1 500 and will look to do the mechanical upgrade to v core 4 with rat os 2.1 as soon as i can
HOW?? Just How on earth you guys can be so ahead in terms of user friendliness while maitaining great performance and still be open source? you guys just rock! can't wait to save enough to get my own V Core 4 500!

@@ratrighardware "Fanboy mode activated" : OH MY GOOOOOOD! Thanks so much, I'm actually working on a furniture project and wanted to get some Gooey green PETG to give it some style!
Love the videos and I love getting to see all the amazing upgrades and improvements being made! it's an amazing concept when a company listens to their consumers!
My VC4 500mm Hybrid arrived yesterday, and I can't wait to start building it!, but I have to finish my Stronghold One 1250 x 1250 build first! Hopefully IDEX gets released soon because I'm really looking forward to converting the hybrid kit to run dual filament types to cut down on wasting expensive material on supports for our automotive prototyped parts.

I'm looking for my first 3D printer build and I just ran across rat rig. Awesome name. I'm a welder by trade so I prefer building than ready-made. But the software has to be user-friendly too and I think I found my match. Thanks
Currently using a Vcore 3.1 500. Really looking forward to trying out RatOS 2.1 this weekend. Belt tensioning has been the most difficult part for me, and I hope the new resonance graphs will help me dial that in better.
Awesome Upgrade, the realtime graphs look fantastic and really helpful! Thanks Mikkel for everything! PS: Please use less music in your videos. Or at least different ones. 20min the same loop is too much.
I really do feel that after the last big 'paradigm shift' in 3d printing (more automated core XY with the bambulabs), the next paradigm is easy to setup, and clean + convenient IDEX printing. Currently it is just such a hassle to get everything working, and if you manage to make it work as smoothly as ex. bambulab they'd sell like hotcakes.
I wanna somewhat temper expectations here. A DIY product where the hardware is entirely user built, customizable and configurable is never going to be as "hands off" as a proprietary locked down product where every single unit is identical. It's DIY after all, so there'll always be some level of effort involved. But we can get pretty close :)
@@miklschmidt I wasn't necessarily implying that ratrig will be the only/first to do it, nor that ratrig will be able to reach standards of convenience that bambu has reached. It was just a general prediction of where the market might be going considering past innovations. I do think that ratrig will likely be at the forefront of this new wave though. Perhaps it is most obvious to draw parallels by how voron was at the forefront of fast core-xy machines before adoption by bigger, more traditional companies.
Oh yes, i have been using the development version for a while now on my beta IDEX, and can confirm it is a breeze to setup! That all while not leaving more experienced users behind. Further customization can be done just as in any Klipper install! And now get a fresh install running quickly 😉

I started ro self source a V-chonk, but my 3d printer are too small for the moment 😢 Anyways I will find a way. Where did you post jobs offers you mentionned in the video ? Or what kind of skills you need ?
Awsome updates Masters Just sad that i got my 3.1 when the 4.0 was a month away, specially since the 3.1 was not properly resolved in the electronics like the 4.0 is. Wish Sonat or the RatRig team had given me a heads up of the upcomming updates when i contacted them, i could have waited for the newer model just for the powerbox :(
I realize that I am late to the party on this video. But I'm coming to ask, When is the IDEX kit going to be available? I cant wait!! I'm going nutz over here! LOLOL! You guys and gals are awesome!
Keep up the great work, youre doing such a great job, not only with the v4 but also with cnc machines...i love the hybrid corexy and i love to go fast so i hope i will one day manage to get my hands on the v4 otherwise ill be waiting for v5😉😅
@mikkel we love you bro!!! I just did some small things I was able to with my very limited knowledge and your teachings ;) Big shout and hug to @helge!!!
I'm awaiting my V4 delivery. Watching this I'm now wondering if I can fun RatOS2.1 on my Voron 0.2? I like to standardize the software across all my printers as much as possible. I hate having to fuss with config files, so the 2.1 looks amazing.
Do you guys want to send us some blue balls over here in Tunisia ? the rats are hungry! A hungry rat here, impatiently waiting for his RatOs powered VC4 to arrive. Also I'm pretty sure it's going to be a first
Both these new filament colors are great. A fun thing people may have missed is that both of the graphics for the new filament colors have a fun little image. Balls blue person looks to be in alot of pain lol

Any chance of making the v chunk printable on smaller printer in the future? 400mm print size seems like an uncommon size for most people to have on hand.
Will RatOS work with a standard bed slinger? I’m saving for a RatRig but until then I have an idle raspberry Pi. Klipper is obviously capable but I wonder if RatOS can be configured to a non-coreXY.
For all user with modified printers using setups including CPAP, AWD, Goliath, Beacon, bed fans, motor fans, chamber heaters, LEDs etc… the list goes on, will the option to modify setting with the printer.cfg still be available? Or the option to transfer settings?
The entire printer.cfg is your user overrides section in 2.1. You can do anything you want, it's basically just klipper with different defaults and a crap ton of automatically adapting macros. That said - Beacon, chamber heater and LEDs are all supported (the latter two will be clearer when the docs are ready). CPAP is controlled like any other fan (it's just a pwm signal to a controller board) so that's supported. Goliath could be configured as a Rapido UHF (there's no practical difference from a config perspective). Motor fans and bed fans you'll have to do yourself. All it takes for AWD support is for someone to copy one of the printers in ratos-configuration and add 2 rails to the printer-definition.json. Not sure what you mean by an option to transfer settings? Can you elaborate?
Within a week or two there will be a button to automatically upgrade from 2.0 to 2.1. Once out of RC and i'm confident everything is as backwards compatible as intended, it will happen automatically when RatOS 2.0 is updated through mainsail. Want to run a good amount of 2.0 users through the opt-in automatic update first to make sure everything works as intended. We did quite a lot of testing but there's no telling what kinds of fun setups people have out there, so i wanna see how it goes first :)
Trying to self-source a V-Chonk. My extrusions are held up in customs for some reason. Using Spare items from a VC3.1 500³ build and my current VC3.1 400³ build.

Yes and no, there's quite a few things that improves this over a vanilla installation: 1) Automatic flashing 2) RatOS configuration will be updated in advance and take care of the vast majority of backwards compatibility issues for you automatically, but sometimes it's not possible to be proactive. However! After talking to Arksine, he implemented pinned commits on moonraker and klipper, meaning i can lock down known working commits of klipper and moonraker with each RatOS update, which the user can then opt out of (if they want to live on the edge again). With that functionality i can make sure everything works each time you update.
@@miklschmidt thanks to you and @helgekeck and everyone else whose names i'm still learning as i learn more about all this... selectively edging leads to less balls of blue? "they" say? leads to nerves (and other events) of screaming steel? ha. seriously tho thanks to all of you for all your hard work
Sure, just be careful of condensation, otherwise everything should operate well below that. There's plenty of power, you have nothing to worry about on that front, no 25W gimped hotend heaters here! You will probably have to consider active heating and more isolation if you want to get high temperatures in an enclosure in 5 deg C ambient.
@@miklschmidt thanks for the answer, thats excellent to hear. I have no problems to build heat today, even though its 8-10deg often, but my current enclosure is much smaller. Its just that i need a heat gun to start it since prusas put an error below 10degC and wont run, and its very annoying. The garage runs a dehumidifier so it's fairly dry. Thanks
@@miklschmidt the termistor temp sensor signal is apparently not trusted at temps below 10c, hence the "mintemp error". But theres many ways to handle that, like comparing to the bed temp signal, or just a quick manual override while you stand there watching it. But they dont want to change anything. Will measure my bench and see if a ratrig400 would fit, could be fun to try. IDEX with soluble suports would be excellent for complicated prints.
@@garagecedric That does seem like something they would say, but it also doesn't make any sense, you don't need accuracy, before print temperatures anyway. If it's 20C off below zero, who cares? unless it's some odd phenomenon where their NTC's become PTC's below 10C, but i don't think that's a thing (never heard of that or seen a graph that would indicate such a thing). Well, Prusa works in mysterious ways i guess! IDEX has a ton of cool possibilities for sure, it's a heck of a machine :)

I am saddened to hear that all of the configs have been merged. I prefer my own klipper printers to have "modular" configs. Makes it easy to add/remove configs for external ADXL's and/or other parts like if you change bed probes. 😅
You can still do that, printer.cfg is all yours :) besides all the cfgs are still modular, most of them are just modified and merged into the auto generated RatOS.cfg.
@@Anzyclos There is community support for Prusa Mk3s, Prusa Mini, Voron V0.x and Voron V2.4. There's no custom printer option yet, but it'll arrive soon.
I am trying to source the vchonk as cheap as possible i have boght a cheap ender 3 which was broken but the motors were in tact it was like 10$ so lucky me. gotta buy a board and rails now.

I echo the other comments about the music. Its way too loud during the talking parts, and frankly it just shouldn't be there at all. By all means, add the music in the "cut scenes" and B-roll, but leave it out of the talking parts.
My concern with Ratrig and RatOS, ratos documentation talking about not using canbus reads like it was written by an emotional high school freshman and is full of inaccuracies and some blatantly false information. I understand the integration but it’s a bad image for Ratrig having this type of inaccuracies and disingenuous information associated with what is one of the best engineered machines on the market.
