We take a 1994 Fiat Uno Turbo ie for a spin and go back to the old skool. With over 200hp this front wheel drive Italian hatchback is pretty nimble compared to the stock factory power it came with. With very few remaining it's nice to see one still surviving in such good condition. Big thanks to Andy for taking us out in it! Hope you enjoy the video, fresh content every week! Cheers ML

My first car at 17 was a 1993 Uno i.e. (not "Turbo i.e."). 45bhp, but every single one of those horses earned its keep and that rear bench had more space than any car I have had since... ;-) One day I will own another but with an engine transplant of some sort, hopefully FIAT and powerful.

The engine for this car was conceived and built and set up - along with all the vital engine bay architecture - by my oldest friend - and approved GC race engine installer Mario Grech-Xerri. I would know, he range every week to check that everything he did would be OK in my book. Not that Mario isn't competent, he is - but two heads (when we trust each other) can often be better than one and it never hurts to seek a second opinion. MGX is a motor vehicle engineer of exceptional skill but much more than that he is in himself a very, very experienced racecar expert. I can understand that it isn't quite 'the done thing' to give credit in the film to Mario because there are more exciting things to talk about, like the period look of the car and how many front-wheel-drive cars the presenter with his designer beard and blip-transmission broadcasting style owned. Because it's easy innit, and anyone can do it? Like it was special in any way? Yep, think I got that right.

My dad bought an anthracite mk2 brand new from Italy, when he graduated.this video has awaken so many childhood memories.thanks for the nostalgia monky. btw we still have plenty of them in Greece some of them running the unograle swap!

I have a regular Uno in my backyard sitting there since 2003.it was a friend's car until he passed away and I can't get it registered. Wondered what a nice one looks like. You guys make me want to slap an engine and thrash it off road so much! BTW it has no big rust issues. After 13 years sitting in baking sun, rain and snow.

The Renault 5 GT Turbos were the hot hatches to have. I had one with twin group N dump valves :) I like the unos also. I’d like to set up an old skool race with all the classics. If you have: R5 GT Turbo - Uno Turbo - Pug 205 1.9 - Clio Williams - Pug 106 GTI - Saxo VTS contact me & I’ll organise a drag race & track battle. That would be awesome :)

Great review. The Tipo is exactly the same apart from it has no turbo just a 2.0l 16v engine. My uncle has an immaculate black one.

Great looking car... but 200bhp and not a single wheel spin on a 195 section tire, fwd car with 900kg... not trying to be a hater, but I feel that the power was a bit optimistic. I've owned a Polo G40, and it would brake traction with little effort, and the Uno was a bit more powerfull from stock. But this video was great! :)

hi its andy here on a different user my tyres are 185 50 14 yoko soft compound and now its 220bhp I have dyno print out. I do get wheel spin on drivers front wheel. but this video was filmed when I only had 203bhp, my next mod is lsd in the winter then a remap to 240bhp then see how it goes from there.

bout t b 1 more on the road soon when I reshell mine!! seem welded, no sunroof 1.0m reg shell bout t b e coated next month, 10 years of hoarding parts in my parents loft since my rustbucket gave up got a crate motor goin init aswell only question is lsd!? or not, I'm finking no,, cause I ain't gonna b giving that crate motor that much shit av got a corsa for that lol
