I never had an Uno but I enjoyed this very much. I did have an encounter with an Uno Turbo (lady driver) with my father-in-law's Cortina 3.0S going up Eeufees Rd towards Iscor Head Office. I had no words ... I got left behind feeling like I was going backwards!
Came home with approved finance for Uno Turbos at 18,19 and 20 years old but my Father refused to sign surety for a “coffin on wheels”. Picked up my first one, light metallic blue on my 21st Birthday. Jose from Jedi Motorsport used to work on mine. RSB Uno’s were insane . Awesome episode and still my favorite car I ever owned 🖤 Good old days
RSB’s Rudi Balzer was a Swiss tool and die maker. He also tuned cars for Group Ń if I remember correctly.. He built a X19 for my Uncle with a Uno Turbo motor and Gearbox.. Rudi had a Uno that did a certified 239kmh.
This took me down memory lane. In 1993 I had a red Uno Turbo with Lancia Intergrale wheels. The place we used to go on a Sunday night was Wineberg at the Dolls house roadhouse.
20 anni fa circa. In un raduno in Puglia c'era una stupenda uno turbo a trazione integrale con 400 cavalli. Mai più visto e potuto provare una uno turbo così bella e ben fatta. E ne ho guidate almeno una trentina, da originali a super modificate. Ma purtroppo tutte solo con la trazione davanti. Tutte sottosterzanti tranne quella del raduno in Puglia, le ferie più belle della mia vita. Oltre al posto , le persone speciali, un sacco di raduni pazzeschi auto moto elaborate follemente. Sono un siciliano innamorato della Puglia e i pugliesi. Sono 30 anni almeno che faccio le ferie ad alliste un paese vicino al mare e piango sempre quando torno in Piemonte.
Many moons ago I was also the proud owner of an Uno Turbo. A lot of work and modifications were done. Motor delivered 239kw/415nm at the wheels with 2.8bar. Just had good memories. Will always be an Uno Turbo lover.
I once flashed a Superboss and a 325is racing up Glenvista hill at about 220/230kph because they were in my way in my stock turbo Uno turbo , okay afgas and wastegate disconnected 100kw maybe lol , man the 2 of them were narfy!

I couldn’t afford the fist uno turbo. I had the Fiat uno SX, which I loved but for some reason the clutch cable kept rubbing on the fire wall and kept snapping. I loved the look of the uno turbo rather than the Renault 5 gt turbo
Great Video. I have an Uno which was abused by a Father and Son thief mechanics from Klerksdorp. Now I need to get hold of these guys in the video to help me fix it up to hopefully enter the Simola Hillclimb next year. Best video I've seen so far, this video answers the origins and hidden gems of the racing car culture in South Africa. This provided more depth about the car culture, especially these guys who were involved in racing professionally, and in the street scene at the same time. Quite unique, the "group n days" brings back alot of good memories.

Not sure if the cape knows how to do this level for uno. I have a na uno 1.4 with a plan to do a 5 door turbo engine swop and box maybe depending on price. Only thing is no parts and this company looks like they got the connections but did not find on the internet. Freaking brilliant man with the two best uno turbos in sa I think
I had a C reg one about 15/20yr ago, standard,when close the door feels like in a bean can, terribly fast used to spin the wheels up till 3rd,(this one could not even spin in 2nd so why so slow IF highly modified?),go to another tuner something must be wrong.
