That's exactly what I did! I've been in my apartment for about 10 years and every year about this time the ants come out, sometimes in droves. I literally sprayed everywhere around the building and in my home and I also put ant traps down all over the house. I haven't seen an ant, I ask my kids they say they haven't saw any ants. All gone! This stuff works!
This stuff works really well. We live in our RV and carpenter ants were getting in. We sprayed this outside around the windows and doors and jacks and wheels. Indoors around the perimeter. Immediately after spraying, other bugs started coming out of the trim and dying. There are dead carpenter ants everywhere outside and I literally just watched one come out from under the couch then curl up and die.

I saw a lot of various spiders running on my foundation!!!! I was spraying directly on some! I used the old jug with the handle pump. I am sorry but my Ortho might be 5 years old, but so what, I am using it anyway since I paid for it!😄😄😄😄😳
I was glad to find this because I ripped the instructions. Am I supposed to put that little battery tab back in the red handle? My husband has sprayed many times and while out of town asked me to do it. The tab was in there, so I pulled it out per instructions, but I can't seem to get it back in as far as it was before I pulled it out!
It works like a charm.I did this at my father house.Just spray inside your kitchen and bathroom cabinets from inside and outside if needed, Spray all around your wall base in all rooms if needed.Seal any cracks or openings in walls especially where kitchen sink pipes go through.And that did it for me. It's been three months now.No Roaches.Just play it safe I gave it another spraying two times in the two months just for added protection.The good thing about Ortho it doesn't smell.Make sure if you buy the Ortho Home Defense has the electric sprayer and it tube with it.Don't go for the manual hand sprayer take too long to applied.

Those bugs are following a trail they will follow that trail until youspring soap and water on it it will kill the bugs that are in the area I mean really take the time to think past your own self what type of chemicals would it take to kill you how many chemicals could kill you what makes you think bugs would be different hence the think past your own s I mean really think

Any idea how to clean the nozzle holes? i bought 2 gallons already. For the 1st, the pump died after one use, the second has a blockage in one of the holes and not spaying but squirting.

I know this is a late reply, but I have a similar situation. My plan is to spray the interior upstairs and keep the dog with me in a room downstairs for a couple of hours until it dries upstairs. Then, I’ll spray the downstairs interior before bed and take my dog upstairs to sleep in my room with the door closed. If you have a one story house, try spraying the rooms you’re not in and once it dries, you and your pets can move to the area you treated. Then, you can spray the room you left and let it dry. I will spray upstairs first so if any bugs start running, they will hopefully go downstairs away from my bedroom until I treat the downstairs later that day. Hope this helps.
I have this spray kit by Ortho and used it in July of 2019. I went to use it last week. The batteries are working fine and it's purring away but no chemical is coming out of the nozzle. I have written to Ortho for a suggestion but have heard nothing. How can I clear or clean out the hose from the bottle? The pick-up tube is clear but it is plugged somewhere in the hose. There is no way to take this apart. When I stopped using it in July I made sure I followed the instructions for storage. Does anyone know if you can buy a replacement nozzle with the battery compartment?

Bugs really don’t like this stuff. The house I bought in Northwest NJ was vacant in the spring and early summer before I moved in. A good amount of pests inside and out. We did some renovations and left some old wood and sheetrock on the side of the house. I sprayed around that. A couple days later the area I sprayed around was covered with insects. The areas treated had very minimal insects. This stuff really does work

I found out my neighbor actually has the same product and she says I won’t regret using it. Is it just me or is it somewhat difficult when using it to only put out a small amount at a time? I changed the nozzle to the spot to where it’ll only put out a small amount but I think it also depends on how much you press the button to spray. Am I missing something?

I’ve used a few of those types of weed & pest killers that come with the sprayers and they’ve always gotten plugged up. What I do now is buy the refill bottles and bought one of those $10 pump sprayers. Works like a charm.

I keep a jug of this stuff in my garage, one time i was getting in my car and i saw a big roach like insect walking by like a punk, i grabbed the jug and for the hell of it just went to town on that single bug, he just keep on walking like he was out on a date, didn't even face him, after that i started contemplating other forms of pest control.
Not sure if you know this, but cockroaches are REALLY hard to kill "INSTANTLY". If you get the right stuff, it will still take a while for the bug to die. HOWEVER, if you spray them with rubbing alcohol, they die in a matter of seconds. Try it! You won't believe it.
I lived in Arizona and I sprayed one 6-7 solid full ok sprays. Damn roach looked at me and flies to land on my neck. Then it was on we were fighting eachother for 5 mins before I stomped him out
My parents will probably need some of that. We always get house centipedes in our house every few months and we just moved into this house like a few months ago, even though those 30 legged critters are the natures pest control eating unwanted spiders and roaches.

I use it indoors and outdoors. I spray the foundation, around windows and doors and then I spray indoor around doors, windows and where the floor meets the walls. In my basement I do the same but will also spray where the walls meet the ceiling. That’s where the bugs crawl. I also spray around openings to the house like dryer vents and furnace vents.
This stuff actually works 100% reccomend this I live next to a empty dirt lot and people throw trash there all the time so guess what? Bug city! I spray around the backyard fence and the perimeter of the house works awesome

Damn. I got the sprayer model. I had to stop about 10 times before I did 3/4 pass around my basement. My wrist was blown out. Need to go back and get the wand model.
Please help me cause i bought the same like yours to kills insects specially cockroach and when i tried to spray direct to cockroach causr i saw crawling but i noticed the cockroach didn't die and still crawling! Why? Do i have to add more chemicals to kill the small roaches?

Although the temperature is not mentioned on the actual container the chemical comes in, most professional companies that use this product say that any temperatures below 50* F...the chemical will begin breaking down....now it’s important to know that even though it begins breaking down at those cold temperatures..,doesn’t mean it stops working and being effective all together...it will still have an effect...just not as strong! Can I use this on the perimeter of the house on the inside? I'm moving into a 2nd floor apartment that has some roaches. I can't do the outside of the building. I just want to know if it's okay to use this stuff on the inside of the home?

Don't be a fool pretend like you want to live use soap and water you can control the intensity by adding more or less soap and a little extra it will not kill you go figure

Great product but a better spray nozzle needs to be made n sold with it. I have bought 5 or 6 gallons through the years n the nozzele just don't last !

I did everything you did... but i can not get the sprayer to work... the battery is not dead...you can hear it making noise.. but spray will not come out..I purchased the spray last summer...

1. From the cap of the gallon you need to turn the knob to "ON". You probably have it to "OFF". 2. Afterwards make sure to insert the red tip, from the wand, to the slot of the gallon cap. Make sure to hear a click, as that will indicate that's now ready for use. 3. From the trigger of the wand, flick the switch down to unlock. Now you should be ready to use. 4. Happy bug spraying!

I have ants everywhere bought two types of the Ortho home defense. One for inside & also the outside. Applied the outside one, laid a barrier around house and the sidewalk. Ants are all over the sidewalk so it isn't working and I applied it heavily. Really disappointed with this product. I'll use the inside type to barrier the inside of the house. I'm going to have to use something different than this Ortho for the outside, like I said ants are everywhere outside and there's no noticeable difference. I've placed ant bait outside with hopes it will help.

I thought again this video was going to show me what to do if the damn Sprayer stops spraying even though the motor is running and then I try to prime it and it doesn’t wanna prime what a pain in the butt I hate this thing it’s sucks I could’ve been done spraying it by hand

Buy a jug of Bifen IT concentrate and mix in a sprayer. It will be cheaper and many times stronger than anything you buy in a big box store. One ounce of product per gallon of water. This is what the pros use.
I hope this will help, whenever I use my crock pot, I get a household invasion. I am trying to figure out how they are getting in. I took a nap one day while my crock pot was making dinner. Fortunately, I had closed my bedroom door, there HAD to have been 35 flies in the house when I got up!. I have started to hate the warm weather, for fear, I will be swatting and spraying them all day. Something has got to work.

For flies they have sticky traps at the 99 cent store and they are non-toxic most people tend to cook after sundown the reason for that and most people don't know is because flies will not be around they go in after about five to six o clock put baking soda and your trash bin if you can wash it out do that make sure the baking soda goes everywhereyou can put it in your hand and just blow it all like magic it doesn't have to be thick it just has to touch the surface not a lot just a little bitI use the box of baking soda for my refrigerator first and then what it is done I use it for the trash

I also began trying to cook dinner around seven to nine am, I heard flies start up their shit around ten or so. Here's a tip. Dont waste money on the one with the stupid spray nozzle. Just buy the 1.33 gal refill jug. Its cheaper, and then apply it with any pump-up garden sprayer. You can apply it easier, faster, and with more control this way since you have a long wand.

I came for results, not instruction. Anyway here is my experience: 2018 summer. Too many bugs to handle. I then used glue traps inside and ortho outside. Seemed to reduce spiders, roaches, and other bugs by 90%. This could be a result of me moving in and maintaining my place better than it was. But I’ll continue to use this product. I recommend using this with shorts and no eye protection. Because you don’t want to be outside with pants on right now, and you don’t want to be a tool with the eye protection. Just have some sense.

Take some vinegar and run it through the wand. Hold the vinegar at a higher level than the wand. Fixed mine like new! Next time you use it run all of the product out of the wand before you store it.

life time if the motor is making a noise but nothing is coming out hold the bottle higher than the wand and "prime" it. Should start working within 30 seconds
