I think I definitely like the longer videos more, just personal taste but I like seeing more get done. If this was a tutorial, definitely a lot of shorter videos for a big project like this. But since it's not strictly showing us how as opposed to what, I like the longer ones instead
@@Princearmory I know it's more editing work, but some channels upload both longer, more detailed demonstration videos, as well as a shorter, more concise one like this. Personally, I use RU-vid as a learning tool, so I'd much prefer a longer one, but doing both longer and shorter may possibly earn you more subscribers; those who prefer the longer ones, and those who don't. Thanks for asking us.
Thanks for the fixed focus point on the bottom right corner. I was able to see all of the work you were doing and if I needed to see a close-up I had the other view I could look at too.
I was expecting a lot more subscribers with the quality of your content. You've earned my subscription and I'll be here to see your channel blow up! Keep up the great work dude. :D
The thing is most people like me are just mindblown by this art and totally forget to subscribe... After watching just one video I want to create something too so I instantly close the browser and start drawing... so... thanks for reminding me xD
Personaly, long or short videos of a project doesn't make any difference. When all the vids are published, I just line them up in a playlist. I am very much looking forward to seeing how all of that was accomplished. So far........AMAZING!!!
Thanks! The problem with longer videos is the average view time suffers which means RU-vid doesn't promote it. I'll have longer duration videos available on Patreon at times though.
Thank you! Every video I pick up more things I could be doing differently. The second view was perfect! Tapping the seams! It’s common sense but somehow not common knowledge. For some reason I’ve been wary of using glue in favor of always stitching. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on the use of glue, stitching, and rivets and when they are best in a tutorial.
Instantly I'm your fan! I remember when playing MONSTER HUNTER on my psp...gathering ingredients, monster bone and scales, and precious metals to build my armor:) i will finish watching your videos...you got a new SUBSCRIBER! Amazing talent...thumbs up!
Can't wait for part three. I was really hoping to see how those horns went together. I assume they are glued, stitching wouldn't be practical. What glue are you using? I'd also like to add a vote for a basic spiral horn tutorial/pattern.
NICE!! I am really digging your videos. I make a few knife sheaths a year and leatherwork frustrates me to no ends. But I feel like I'm picking up some things to improve my work, and may try my hand at armor by the end of the year.
around the 5:32 mark I cant tell what it is your are doing, sounds like peeling the leather or scoring it but the way you hold the tool I cant tell what it looks like to guess. Since you glue it later I am guessing it scores the leather though for a good bond? I think this length is ok, I do prefer the longer ones but wont be annoyed if they are this length, so I guess whichever is easier for you to edit! I like you added the little window view too!
Yeah, he's scoring it with what appears to be a scratch awl. Tandy does sell a leather rougher that's basically a really rough file bent at an angle with a nice rubber handle attached to it but at $35, most people use an awl that they probably have with starting leather working and it works just as well.
You should make something with Armor Grade Leather. Are you using European Sides? You do great work. Inspiring me to do something with all my leather stuff laying around.
I have 3 questions for you mate after watching this. First, after you glued the teeth onto the jaw, will you/did you stitch in in place after the glue dried? I see there's a pt3 coming soon so I wasn't sure if you would go over that in the next part. Second, have you experimented with the different types of leather glue out there? Since this glue is on the bottom piece, any vapors from the glue will go right up your nose. Do you prefer Barge's All Purpose Cement vs. Tanner's Bond Contact Cement vs. Fiebing's Leather Weld? Third and lastly as a minor question, what is the domed metal anvil you are using? Is it something you made out of scrap metal or did you actually buy it as an anvil? I was thinking of making one out of a block of wood and pool cue ball. I thought it would be strong enough with leather in-between as long as I'm not striking it directly with my chasing hammer. But now that I see you have something better, I'm curious to know. Thank you for another video to watch. =)
I am loving these videos including the turorial ones. Quick Question: What adhesive are you using to join the teeth onto the jaw? is this just standard contact adhesive or is it special for leather? Thanks
i was wondering where you got that tool for planishing/flattening out the seam in the lower jaw? i have been looking for something similar for awhile and any info would be much appreciated!
I only have 1 complaints about this vid, is that (it's more nick picks if anything) don't put those video links on top of something you want to showcase. I hope this will be a series.
Hi i'm interested in this helmet. I've checked your website & i can't seem to find this item anywhere. Can you dm me the details on purchasing this particular item?
Not yet... although I don't think he will. The 2 patterns he's made and released have been for "general" items. This is a custom piece that he made for someone and I would think they would be disappointed to find someone else wearing the same thing that they paid a lot of money for.
