A point: In English “…with a final nod of greeting…” should be, “…nod of farewell…” because the character is leaving the ‘scene’. It’s just one of the nuances of English syntax. ‘Greeting’ is when you first encounter someone. It’s one of the interesting things of foreign languages. ‘Ciao ‘ is both ‘hello’ AND ‘farewell’ in Portuguese. It’s a common error made by ESL speakers. 🙏🏽 Bless
