Just bought one yesterday through the truecar program in the lunar metallic color. Very smooth ride and the engine is very response to the acceleration. Inside is quite spacious and has good legroom for both first and second rooms; third row can be a bit tight and will work best for kids and teens (probably not for tall adults). The look is very sleek and feels macho.
The Honda Pilot is a very nice overall.. It sits up nice and high for good safe visibility (which is (unfortunately) hard to find since most SUV's and minivans now are built lower - having reduced vehicle height and poorer visibility). Inside the Pilot the steering wheel is also very nice but the dashboard/controls are by far the worse part of the Pilot. No nice large nobs or more traditional design which I (and most people - and Consumers reports mag) prefer. This particular Pilot at least has the standard traditional shifter (which is good).. Some Pilots, Ridgeline and (I think) Accords have the terrible push button shifter - which I don't want - and I bet most people don't want.
Did they fix the A/C problem??? I have this issue with my 2016 Honda Pilot EXL, got broken twice (not blowing cold air) already in 2017 & 2018 every summer. My friend got his 2017 Pilot Touring, not even 4 months old and he got his AC problem same as mine.
Notice alert for any current or potential 2018 Honda Pilot EX-L customers: I bought a brand new 2018 Honda Pilot EX-L V6 model vehicle about a month ago. After a week of driving, I noticed a slight vibration coming from the lower driver seat area that ran into the bottom of the steering wheel. It's a slight faint vibration that happens intermittently. Some may feel it and others may not. Took it to two Honda service departments and one service advisor told me he has experienced a similar vibration on his Honda civic. At the other shop, the service manager couldn't even hear it or feel the vibration but when his master mechanic took it for a drive, he noticed the slight vibration and determined it was probably related to the VCM (I'm glad I wasn't losing my mind). No fix needed at this point. I'm still driving the vehicle and it's fully functional with no warning lights on the dash. I really like the vehicle so I guess I'll stick with it and see what happens in the future or if Honda provides some kind of an update. Anyway, my case is still open with American Honda until further notice. I traded in my 2010 Honda Accord with 180K miles which by the way, I never had any issues with so hopefully this Honda Pilot will reach 100K? @@gametimechumps actually sold it after two years and bought an Acura MDX. I nicked named it the ‘Snow Plower’ lol. Pilot was nice but at least for me the MDX is superior. Power, much more comfortable soft leather seats, enough room for me, a bit better with gas and the ride is quieter.

Like the lines. Understated yet and doesn’t have the cumbersome look of some other mid sized suvs. Took the pilot for a text drive, nice torquey 6 w/ 7200 redline. Pulled right to 6800 before the trq plateaued.Typical Honda engines. The interior was really roomy and the seats were a snap to adjust any which way. I test drove a Caddy and the Explorer. Both felt claustrophobic inside compared to the Pilot as outward vision was vastly compromised. The ergonomics are by far the best in the Pilot as a daily driver with children or adults passengers.

I would prefer ability to remove the rear seat, most of the time..IS this doable? Your description makes it sound "possible". I like your thoroughness and you procedurally walk through the car, as a user, based on design features.

CD player is an add-on option. Honda wants a mere eight hundred dollars or so for the player. I assume installation would increase the already overpriced player some more.
Listen up HONDA.....I have bought three of your vehicles and I swear by them! two accords and a civic. I'm in the market for a SUV but the Pilot is way to PLAIN JANE for what they cost. The interior needs some love.
raymond navarro the biggest change is the addition of Apple CarPlay and android auto, I wish they would’ve made Honda sensing standard but that’ll probably come when they refresh it
I have the 2015 touring pilot. Everything’s good. But the seats feel uncomfortable. And the style and technology boring. I Like the new one’s. Cuz it’s maybe time to move on then stay behind
I have a Pilot from the previous generation to this one, and I love it. But I would not buy one of these. I hate the styling - they turned it into a soccer Mom's car with me-too SUV looks, compared to the more distinctive squared and husky look of the past models. Inside, I don't like the dash, especially the display location. The old nav display was set into a recess so that the sun wouldn't strike it and washout the display. They should have retained that, and put a second touch display vertically below for controls. And I really hate the folding arm rests of the front seats - did the 80's make a comeback? And when is Honda going to offer some new interior colors? They haven't changed those in decades. And I can't believe they brought back a floor-mounted shifter in the basic models. The dash mounted shifter in the older models freed up room in the center console and made that much more useful. All in all, I feel they've gone backwards in many ways. Were I buying now, I'd probably go for a Ford Explorer, but I love my 2012 Pilot and plan to drive it till the wheels fall off.
CrustyCurmudgeon who cares if it screams soccer mom! People need to stop stigmatizing that. Just like minivans they’ll always be the best of the best for everyone but people are trading them for these ugly SUVs because apparently they show your a parent.
I also prefer the more squared off exterior design of the last generation. The interior design of the new generation is beautiful tho ... except for that push button shifter, I would prefer a knob/dial or even a slider on the dash or the console over the push button thing. I also hope that Honda will one day give us a real full sized SUV to go up against the Expedition.
Im a kid, and honestly this car seems nothing like a "soccer moms car" it seems so cool, my friends DAD has it and his dad is 26, it cool! But my family travels a lot, which is the mane reason we got this car, instead of driving two cars. I love how it feels like you're inside a room, the AC is great and the heating. The music is fantastic, its so loud! But we all have opinions

😱 Honda, Ridgeline is A Pilot with back cut off, my Pilot has been a non-stop headache ! NOT towing anything this Pilot avgs in the teens, city & highway.
