People listen to me! Don't buy this bike. I just bought a 2023 TXT 300 and it's a total bitch to start. I've owned bikes since 1973 and this is by far the hardest bike I ever owned to get running. I was recovering from surgery when it was delivered 2 months ago and today I finally got the chance to go take a first ride. Nope! Spent 2 hours trying to get this bike running. It's a bitch! Like the other guy said if your a tall guy who weighs around 210 or more you probably won't have a problem. Otherwise forget it! I'm so disappointed with this bike and all the money I spent to just look at it. I'm not a big guy. I'm 145 pounds and I'm short. I have Short legs yet still I never had a problem starting any bike. I had a cr250 a cr 500 a yz 250 no problem starting them. This gas gas forget it! I don't care eho says I'm too small for a 300 because it's bull crap. I can handle the power I raced and had several big bikes. I just can't start this damn thing and I wish I did more research because I see now that it's a long standing problem with gas gas. I owned a Montesa and that bike could sit all winter and gas on, choke maybe 3 kicks. This POS I think I wore my leg out today
Hey, I’m sorry about your experience with this bike. I had a similar experience but didn’t want to just look at it like you said so I did a whole lot of research and asking questions and got my bike in order. I love it now. I’m 5’6” and 135# and can start my bike on first kick now. I lowered the compression with a $20 head gasket kit and a more expensive flywheel weight for other issues I had. I don’t know if you kept your bike or not but lowering the compression worked for me. It’s still got the power and torque so don’t worry about that. Reply if you want more info because there’s more to tell.
Don't worry, don't believe the hype, I think you'll find very little has changed between then and now. The micro improvements are barely noticeable or worthy of the average rider.
Take it to a priest and have it blessed because it's one of a kind. I just bought a brand new one and it will not start. Gas spark brand new full of gas and forget it. The only way to start this bike is push it to the top of a hill and bump start it. Unless your 6'3" tall and weigh well over 200 pounds forget a Gas Gas
@@066motocross ur doing something wrong then. if u kick the bike from tdc it should start easly. most people don't know this and will have problems starting anything that has compression.
@@slavcoworld Certainly a bold marketing decision, especially from a company owned by KTM 😆 Vertigo bikes are so pretty, but it'd break my uncle's heart if bought one... He's a Gas Gas man through and through lol
Hard disagree. I am so happy to see a manufacturer going back to making bikes that know what colour they want to be. It's simplicity is its strongest feature.
Lots of things I have to disagree with about this review. Reviews are always subjective I know but much of what you’re saying doesn’t match up with my experience. As far as starting goes, still difficult. Lowering the compression helps a lot though. Also, the power delivery is not buttery smooth. An inexperienced rider could get hurt on these very badly because of the un-smooth power delivery. Very little throttle goes from nothing to rocket ship within a very short throttle turn. Also, the 300 is way too much for a beginner and they should probably go with the 250 or even 125 based on body size and experience.
Certainly agree, everyone has their own riding levels and review pointers. My review is based on myself and my riding pals of similar level. Keep on riding and smiling!
@@slavcoworld I get many messages from friends outside of Canada asking me who you are. I have no idea. I've never heard of you. I've been in the sport in Canada for 5 decades
