"When the Bird of Knowledge visits you in the middle of the night to teach you something the right response is not to look in the trunk." - Jordan Peterson
@@heidi2166 yk. I actually used that as an example cause in a public speaking class thats what someone did their presentation on 😂 it was actually interesting
I'm a firm believer in science and logic and yet in my life I have experienced many such uncanny, surreal moments. I feel quite reassured that Dr Peterson has experienced them too.
It's such a well-crafted story. The set, the distant relatives, the excruciating cold weather, the unbearable beautiful woman (like supernaturally beautiful - witch in disguise), the possession of Peterson (he just felt like saying those lines: "It's gonna happen again"), the angel flapping his wings in the trunk (three times, a number with deep religious and spiritual significance). All along, Peterson was the cold, calculated skeptical detective who can't see it through. This is either an excellent crafted story (a well-crafted hoax) or it's completely true (life surpasses sometimes even our wildest imaginations)
@@Louie_The_DagoIt’s called being open minded. I’ll just leave it at that. Just because someone has different ideologies than you, doesnt mean they’re wrong.
So, you mean Jordan Peterson, a guy who has basically nothing to prove to an audience, just wasted 10 minutes by coming up with some BS ghost story simply to get attention by people he doesn’t know? Bro even if I was Jordan Peterson I wouldn’t do that. Normal people don’t do that, let alone a world renowned Psychologist.
I’m a pet sitter and one day I was out back in a client’s backyard with their dog. It was a beautiful day, it wasn’t windy. It was just sunny and pleasant. All the sudden, behind me, I heard the loud flapping of wings, just like Mr. Peterson described, I looked behind me, and nothing was there, and I just chalked it off as just being something strange, which it was. But the kicker was a few minutes later I went inside the client’s living room, all the doors were closed and I heard, AGAIN, the very loud flapping of wings behind me!!! The spirit realm is real!!!
It's pretty much the same story of Jung and Freud and the loud rapport in the book case from Memories Dreams Reflections. Jung called it "catalytic externalitization."
This is a well crafted story that can be interpreted any which way. It takes from a book and religious aspects and makes you think about the significance in thinking realistically yet openly. He's such a genius.
You know, considering what they were arguing about, it seems like a dumb reason for a ghost to show up. It's just arguing about being polite vs being real and the ghost decided to put his two cents.
Whoa interesting! Thanks for putting this up. The bird in Carlos Castenda books is the Strange Attractor or the Naugaul I think. Something like that. That's not too scary but he's right, I believe him that's weird.
My brother passed away at the age of 35 in his home in Carrollton, texas. He loved storms and would always call our parents,me,my other brother, and sister to worn us if bad storms were going to be rolling through texas. It was a real hot summer day when he died, around 100, no rain in sight , Dallas Forcasters said it's going to be a good while before Dallas sees any rain. Me and my other brother went to stay the night with my brothers now widow, about 3 am we got her to lay down and I went and laid down and closed my eyes, right then I though someone snapped a picture of me,the room lit up, and then a tremendous boom, I jumped up and went to see my brother looking out the back window, it started coming down in buckets,we just starred at each other. The news that morning came on,the meteorologist said, wow, what a night, that storm came out of nowhere and started on radar over Carrollton texas.
He hears a noise in a trunk and thinks it bird from a book beating its wings. It could've been any animal or maybe a ghost. He thinks it is a ghost bird of knowledge? He has quite the imagination.
"It was 40 below, nothing could have survived, it would have frozen." So, there's no wildlife there at all then, just migratory animals that show up during spring.
In northern Canada all animals have dens that are small and tight. The animals body heat keeps the den at a livable temperature. If you put a Martin (type of weasel), that lives in regions of Canada that get down to -40 just fine, in an empty trunk, the Martin would eventually die of the cold simply because it could not fine a hole to nor even be covered with snow which is a great insulator.
Just find it unfathomable that the interviewer who's having a perfectly civil and friendly conversation with JP here could do a complete 360 and now be a hater. Something went very wrong with him, but I don't know that anyone understands what.
there’s odd things like that if you take the time to notice them, things sync up but they go so unnoticed because your either anticipating it and just roll with it or it’s just something small, but sometimes things will line up with what you’re thinking about, it’s most likely coincidence but it makes you wonder.
To a Skeptic, you will never convince them something this is true To a person that has actually experienced something like this you’ll never convince them what they experienced didn’t happen
Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: "Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times." And he went outside and wept bitterly. The Gospel of John 18:13-27 describes the account of the three denials as follows: Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus.
@@rmx6737it’s interesting and we do care. It’s nice to find strange connections. Three blind mice. Three bananas in the forest. The three moonie elves from the forest of Endor.
Looking back on this and knowing what we know now, I too took benzos at one point so Mr. Peterson definitely looks like he could've been in the throes of his dependence at this point.
Throughout the narrative the girl’s nervous laugh on her microphone kept interrupting the flow which I found really irritating and distracting especially since there wasn’t anything funny to begin with. They should have turned off her mike. 😖
Missing the point here... Is there such a thing as too beautiful to bear? I know there is, but can Peterson expand on this? Is there a video made discussing this?
This woman was beautiful. If you take nothing else from this story, just understand that this woman was beautiful. And her mother was beautiful. But not as beautiful as this woman. And her sister was very beautiful but honestly not as beautiful as this woman. I can't stress this enough, she was beautiful. Anyway what were we taking about again?
If you read his books and watch interviews I am not the biggest fan of Jordan he is a good guy I had the pleasure to say hi there was a line of people wanting to meet him he asked what my name was a complete gentleman like a father
DANG JOS I mean, there’s literally nothing he said that was even remotely in the realm of impossibility, why would you not believe him? I can see you saying something like, “I don’t believe anything supernatural occurred here”, but to say you don’t believe him. . . Period? To dismiss it in its entirety just because you refuse to believe in anything supernatural? Pretty ridiculous, I see now it’s a scary reality that people DO turn their heads from God even when they KNOW it’s Him knocking. That might sound cheesy, but it’s the scary reality at the bottom of all the choices we take. And yeah, I’m aware of your second sentence, I just think it was a sly attempt at validating your dismissal of anything “supernatural”, despite the fact that you yourself probably found yourself thinking “well, hey, that is pretty strange”, before then thinking “maybe he exaggerated it or it isn’t 100% true?” Sorry to be so blunt, but sometimes things just need to be said.
@@unitriangular6527 people's recollection of events is proven to be very shaky and distorted, so you can never be sure it happened exactly like that even though we can almost certainly agree that he's not lying. While I cannot disprove supernatural events just as I cannot disprove the existence of pink unicorns, a memory of an anecdotal experience can't prove anything. There are far too many natural explanations for it.
@@DimitarStanev Paranormal events have significance for the people involved, but don't always translate to the wider world. They function on a symbolic level known to the percipient.

nopleease he doesn’t do it consciously, its just his person. He’s just more mature than everyone he talks to, and sadly that means hardly anyone can surprise him. Did you know that it’s surprise that makes you laugh? There isn’t much that surprises Jordan anymore, and it’s not his fault, he’s blessed/cursed with intelligence and has been around for quite a while. . . he can’t force himself to be surprised. . . he’s not going to fake laugh for you just to “step outside of his wiseman look”, he’s not even aware that’s his look, it’s just him being his genuine self. Also, I think you might be mistaking his sternness for thoughtfulness, he thinks his words through carefully, unlike most people who feel that everything they say is worth saying, Jordan knows that’s not true, so he thinks before he speaks. Unfortunately, it means he’s more focused on genuineness than charisma.
Bryan Arzate to be clear i wasnt trying to insult him in anyway, its just how he appears to me as a listener. i dont know him personally, he could be completely different.
