"Whiskey in the Jar" ... is an Irish traditional song set in the southern mountains of Ireland. The song, about a rapparee (highwayman) who is betrayed by his wife or lover, is one of the most widely performed traditional Irish songs and has been recorded by numerous artists since the 1950s. It's a favorite of mine and I hope ya like it.
Wishing everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day weekend! ... FrAnK 💚 (Lyrics below)

Lyrics:
1) As I was a goin' over the far famed Kerry mountains
I spied captain Farrell and his money he was counting
I first produced me pistol and I then produced me rapier
Saying "Stand and deliver" or the devil he may take you
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack for the daddy-o, whack for the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
2) I counted out his money and it made a pretty penny
I put it in me pocket and I took it home to Jenny
She said and she swore that she never would deceive me
But the devil take the women for they never can be easy
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack for the daddy-o, whack for the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
3) I went unto my chamber, all for to take a slumber
I dreamt of gold and jewels and for sure it was no wonder
But Jenny took me charges and she filled them up with water
Then sent for captain Farrell to be ready for the slaughter
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack for the daddy-o, whack for the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
4) 'Twas early in the morning, as I rose up for travel
The guards were all around me and likewise captain Farrell
I first produced me pistol for she stole away my rapier
I couldn't shoot the water, so a prisoner I was taken
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack for the daddy-o, whack for the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
5) If anyone can aid me it's my brother in the army
If I can find his station down in Cork or in Killarney
And if he'll come and save me, we'll go roving near Kilkenney
And I'm swear he'll treat me better than my own me sportin' Jenny
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack for the daddy-o, whack for the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
6) Now some men take delight in the drinking and the roving
And others take delight in the gamblin' and the smoking
But I take delight in the juice of the barley
And courtin' pretty fair maids in the morning bright and early
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack for the daddy-o, whack for the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack for the daddy-o, whack for the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar
