Good job, but aside from the considerations about weakening the tank with welds that need to be kept in check with a lower pressure setting, there is the problem of oil being put into the air by that type of compressor. A filter would be needed to get clean air for spray painting.

I love to watch these restoration videos. Just wish it had some subtitles so that we can understand what is going on. I didn't understand how a turning motor in the large cylinder made the compressor turn in the small cylinder. Could someone explain this please? Would this system produce as much compressed air as a compressor unit from a fridge? It was good to watch but I am no refrigeration engineer so most of the time I was lost.

Nothing is more dangerous than reusing a rusted out pressure tank, unless you start welding on it. That thing is a timebomb waiting to go off, and at the pressures that it looks to be made to hold, I wouldn't say the clock is very long. NEVER weld pressure tanks, it compromises the strength of the tank. When it explodes (and it will explode), it's going to find the weakest bit to blow through first, which will be the welds. There's a reason pressure tanks are heat treated when they're manufactured.

Don’t do this at home. This guy just built a bomb waiting to explode. So many things wrong with this. I understand in third world countries, air compressors and welding hoods are hard to come by I guess. But just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

Долго компресор работать не будет.В кондиционере масло проходит по кругу в системе и смазует компрессор .а здесь нет картера и системы смазки .С воздухом выдует остатки масла и поломка неизбежна..
