The strange thing is that cats in hot, tropical places curl up the same way! But they do get hot cause they love tile floors where they can lay down and chill!

my cat usually sleeps loosely curled up (more like a crescent moon than a C-shape) right next to me when I'm sleeping or fully sprawled out when I'm up and about. when it's very cold he likes to climb under the covers with me and curl up on my stomach

My little calico loves to snuggle. She will crawl under my blanket and lay on my chest. She starts out in a loaf.after a few minutes she’ll stretch her front arms out. A little bit later she’ll roll to her side. Finally, she stretches out on her side as long as she can with front legs and back legs out stretched, and somehow seems longer than she can possibly be😂
