Yes, BJ, this does add interest to 135, and the other scenario your forgetting is that Irene Aldana was scheduled to fight GDR in 2021, but GDR pulled out. Irene is firmly in the title talk mix as well, and she hasn't fought Pena, GDR, Dumont, or MBS yet, so there's some good fights to look forward to. So Irene will probably fight the MBS v Rocky winner or the GDR v Dumont winner. Irene lost to Rocky via controversial split decision so she probably wants to run that back as well.

BJ, are you doing a breakdown on this card to cover for Combo ?? 2024 starts off with an absolute barn burner with the battle of the bitches ( Jazzy v Zombie girl) 😆 It could get really nasty in there...hair...skin...blood flying everywhere in there and I think it's too hard to pick so I'm just gonna sit back and watch the fireworks 💥🧨 I'm definitely taking Gillian, she just has far more experience and I think is too good for Polyana. The title fight is crazy and also very difficult to call. MBS is doing all the tough talking while Rocky sits back and says nothing at all as usual. Rocky has been around forever, and this is her biggest chance ever at a belt. I think she's a far smarter fighter and obviously far more experienced. Mayra has some dog in her, though, and is not without her chances, but Rocky almost went 5 with the Lioness and had some good moments in that fight, too. MBS hasn't fought over 5 at UFC intensity, so it's a bit of an unknown, although Rocky doesn't have a high output anyway I guess. Idk...🤷...I was told at a very young age to always be worried about the quiet ones, so I'll rock with Rocky in this. 👍 I wouldn't be surprised to see MBS win it either, but somebody has got to get the ball rolling, so I'll stay with Raquel.
UFC should have given GDR a warm up fight last year when she was ready to return. Then we could have had her face Shevchenko for the belt at UFC297. The two greatest female BWs not called Amanda Nunes. I gotta pick GDR for the reasons you say here. Norma is chinny. Her best hope is Germaine is rusty and susceptible to getting pushed up against the cage. But Norma is bound to get clipped along the way and isnt a finisher. Bad match up for her.
why would you pair her against valentina? she would hurt valentina. and is Valentina really one of the best other than amanda? did she ever get the belt?
GDR has reach and power advantage but Shevchenko is faster and more well rounded; can clinch and wrestle better. She has options if Germaine gets too much on the feet. They both competed in similar weight classes in their respective MT and Kickboxing careers so shd be competitive stood up. The case for Shevchenko as a BW; gave Nunes the best fight of anyone in that weight class. Pena caught Nunes snoozing on a bad night. In only 5 BW fights, Shevchenko beat 2 x BW champs and a former Strike force champ plus forced the GOAT to go the distance to a razor thin decision. Who knows how a trilogy fight would have played out?
