Always remember, Team Sports in Europe are NOT Entertainment, something most Americans have a hard time understanding, but is essential to understand the way, things are. I'm sure you have had the famous Bill Shankly quote thrown at you already, so i won't bother. Just keep in mind, it's not entertainment.

Great reaction! The good thing about most German clubs is the mentality, the tradition, the solidarity and a perfect mix of singing, chroreos and pyrotechnics. If you see in other countries like Northern Africa they have more pyro than singing, then again in Italy or Turkey they have more singing than pyro. That's why, for me, the German football clubs are among the best in the world! Greetings from Hansa Rostock!

Sport- Arenas are perfect places ( for men ) to get rid of their aggressions and frustrations in a ( more or less) channeled way -- so they are more 'peaceful ' in daily live . -- imo a smart concept, isn't it ?

If you see a lot of police thats where the Hooligans at because the police knows them. There are at least 3000 police guys at a casual football game in germany to prevent massive brawls where somtimes people Die...

you could check out dynamo dresden fans.. the highest league they got to is second division but the fans are LIT.

German sportsfans are special - I did it for more than 25 years - I never had a fight - just words! BTW the one and only club in the world: ETC Crimmitschau! Ice hockey forever!
