I’m buying this definitely and it’s even better it’s made in Korea! Never liked Indonesian made guitars always have flaws in them . The fact u said it plays like a 6 string is great it will be my first 7 !

I got this guitar too. It's a great instrument, but I really wish they did the full ash body like his USA. (stainless steel frets would be nice too)

First time here. Great review. I need someone to compare this model to his old Schecter JL7 sig model. If it plays the same or better then I need an SL7 immediately.

The fret board looks pretty wide, wider then even my Schecter KM7, specifically at the nut. Could be the body size relationship, and you say it feels like a comfortable transition from 6 to 7 so cool. I had a custom Kiesel DC 700 made and that neck width was great but the profile is almost a 2 x 4. My first pro guitar was a Jackson and love em, but for several years they only offered purple and pink crap in the soloist line so I moved on to different builders... may revisit, thanks for showing

I just ordered the Jackson sl7 and the esp Ltd Buz 7 with my guitar center card. I'm returning one. I haven't seen any comparison between the 2. If anyone has an experience with both the Buz McGrath and Jeff Loomis 7 strings in may or June 2024 please let me know what you think!!

What are your thoughts so far? I bet you like the trem better on the Jackson...did you have them set up or set them up yourself yet? Out of the box the Schecter may have better fit and finish I'm guessing...I ordered the Jackson myself but haven't got it yet.

Woha, that little intro song was quite something! Was that an original composition? Anyway, great playing and a great instrument too. I personally preferred Jeff's Schecter JL-7 signature, the last release. But this Jackson is fire too.

Nice riffage bro. Hell of an axe too, I'm not sure if I deserve it, but I'd love to have one. Have you played the Kelly KE? I play a Schecter C-1 Classic and it's a nice guitar but it's not my favorite neck. Cheers.🤘

Hi Rodney, any chance you will be reviewing the Ibanez BTB 805 multi-scale fan fret? There are already some online, but the demonstrators either can't play that well, or fail to say anything relevant to someone interested in buying one. The Ibanez official demo is more a showcase for the player than the bass, and is a wasted opportunity. I play a BTB 35" scale, but the B string is too sloppy to get a really good action, even using .130. The fan fret is 37" on the B. I was wondering how much of a difference this makes to the tension? For example, if I tightened the B on my 35", to the same tension as on a 37", how much would the pitch have risen? I know this is completely off-topic for the review above, and I don't expect you to have an answer right now. Thanks.

I doubt it unfortunately. Ibanez isn't very responsive. I did play one at the NAMM show. I liked the neck, but that was about it. As far as your other questions, there's a lot of other factors to consider. Do a search on the channel on strings and extended scale. I've covered it several times in Metal Bass Monday episodes.

He’s got big hands. I also like it a tad chunkier bc on slim necks I feel lost. But that could be my technique (how I hold my thumb etc. )

Always liked the design of Jackson back when I was a teen, but you get better everything for the same money. Hell, buy a Harley Benton and add locking tuners, your prefered humbuckers, and you have a better guitar for a third of the money

I have a Harley Benton fusion pro and it's really great for the price. Still not as good as my made in Korea schecters and esp ltds guitars.

@@thomasjameson5761 oh don't get me wrong. If he says it's an amazing guitar I believe him. It just looks like a kids toy. But that's not a bad thing. My metal band way back in the day use to make serious music with crazy lyrics and titles. One of my guitar players would wear Dasie dukes where his balls would hang out and play a neon pink strat. We would tell everyone that didn't know us that we had just formed the week before and this is our first gig. Our first song? "Shampoo bottle penetration " we took the music seriously just not so much the look . That's why inlove the guitar. Probably should have said that. It looks cheap. Just like my bamd with a guy with his balls hanging out with a pink guitar. But we fucking slaughtered the audience. Just like that guitar will.
