After discovering short falls with the M1C Garand Sniper, the U.S. Military adopted the M1D in 1951. The M1D was a simpler sniper design. All that it required was a M1D barrel, scope, scope mount, and standard M1 Garand. These didn’t see combat during the Korean War, but may have seen some combat during other conflicts thereafter. The greatest sniper adaptation to the M1 Garand and cool piece of history still 😎
