Well. It's kind of like the saying ' There are no atheists in a foxhole". Everyone is against the death penalty until it's their child, wife or husband that is raped, murdered, or tortured. Then, the death penalty seems perfectly reasonable. It's easy to be magnanimous and forgiving when the victim isn't someone you know, because many things sound good in committee, but break down in practicality.
Apparently, detectives use this question all the time with killers as an indicator of guilt, as the killers nearly always say that they don't believe in capital punishment. Due to the self-centredness of cluster-b's, they answer the question from the viewpoint of themselves and their future fate. The innocent, when questioned, usually say that they want killers hung, drawn, and quartered.
@@wisdomoftheearlychristians2037 I don't think most people who are against capital punishment would claim it's because they're magnanimous and forgiving. It's usually either religion or practical reasons, like chances of killing an innocent suspect or not wanting the state to have the power to murder legally. I might argue people in favour of capital punishment are more focussed on revenge than practicality.
Greg and the rest, I’m wondering if you’ve ever been compelled to ask a suspect during an interrogation.. “how do you think this is going for you so far?!”
I prefer this format-when you show the moment you are describing with clips and images. Thanks. It helps me in real time to integrate the information. Love your chemistry together-your humor is heinous! hahahah!
You four are the bees' knees; intelligent, intuitive, classy - and not too rough on the eyes, either. Thank you for your videos; you are, individually and collectively, second to none.
Right? And why say sorry for killing a child predator like she claimed Travis to be? She’s a fake, a liar, and a fraud. She’s right where she needs to be. With her own kind.
The most fascinating aspect of human behaviour i see when watching your videos is less about your collective professional wisdom, but how you all interact. You’ve all never wavered in how you interact with each other. The respect shown and genuine admiration and how you allow each other to speak and don’t try to one up each other is rare amongst high level professional men. But mostly it’s how you clearly all make each other laugh. Your interactions are almost as interesting as your take on the subjects. Which are always fascinating. You guys rock!
They had a woman on once. Whether it was because it was a woman, or just an addition that upset the magic of the 4, it really didn't work, at least for me.
3:21 I was taught in a printmaking studio (where typesetting was also done) that “minding your Ps and Qs” was primarily an instruction for typesetters. When setting the metal letters (or “sorts”), the letters are backwards so when inked and printed they will show forwards. Therefore, Ps and Qs (almost mirror images of each other) are easy to confuse. So mind your Ps and Qs! Bonus: it’s easy to run out of very common letters before you finish setting a page. This will make you curse and swear. You are “out of sorts”. You’re welcome, the absolutely no one who asked.
Hey!! My great uncle was a typesetter but I’d never heard that these expressions were derived from typesetting! Thanks for the interesting lexical (is that a word? pun somewhat intended lol) lesson!
Thank you for answering these questions (in spite of no one asking)! I didn't realize how much I would appreciate the answers - especially the out of sorts bit.😃 That's quite fun to know!
I was consumed by her trial. What I observed was a pathological liar and an evil manipulater. Narcissistic to the bone. Watching Prosecutor Juan Martinez tear her apart was glorious.
@@Enoughalready20237 I'm not familiar with the case (the entirety of her diagnosis), but I am familiar with psychology. There are many diagnosis that are also Narcissistic, such as psychopathic, sociopathic etc...
It’s amazing to see how these sociopaths try to mimic normal human behavior, but they miss the subtle facial expressions. Watching the 48 hrs woman ask her questions and all the facial expressions she goes through is a huge contrast to Jodi answering. I like these shorter recaps and how you show us the micro expressions in detail. Very helpful.
I still don't understand this woman's mind-set. Even after the 4 best body language experts in the world describe her...what the hell is wrong with her? How can a person not see how they are? Like (like ie chris watts lol) how can someone not realize that we know that they're lying?
There's no truth in her. So no light. Let that sink in - every smile or expression that portrays kindness is an act perpetrated by a demonic monster. That's what is smiling at you.
I would LOVE you guys to analyse her back and forth with Juan Martinez during her time on the stand during the trial. He knew exactly how to handle her, it was epic.
@@technine9662 bru... For it to be truly "ironic" in the specific way that youre implying. the intent and reason for that statement would require "ignorance" of her statement for one. For two, "capital punishment" (ie, being put to death by the state) and "murder" would have to actually be the same thing or at the very least be identical in spirit. There is actually a technical difference between killing someone in cold blood, and being punished lets say for the above act by being sentenced to death. No i understand irony and ironically you dont. See thats irony. You accusing me of not understanding your example of irony, when in fact i understand irony and you dont. She was motivated and obviously clearly stated she was against Capital punishment because she knew that she was very likely to be facing capital punishment...... Words mean specific things.. definitions have specific meanings. Lol
@@technine9662 example of something that isnt ironic. "Today i was craving a pepsi. Ive thought of nothing but chugging a pepsi since i woke up this morning. I have no transportation so i finally decided i could no longer resist the urge so i walked the 7 miles to the store and 7 miles back. On my way back i was sprayed by a skunk, my toe was run over by a car. As i finally hobbled into my driveway, then into my house I opened the fridge to put the rest of the case of Pepsi away and sitting there in the fridge was a case of water i completely forgot about.... " Now if i substituted water with pepsi that would be ironic. My intention was dictated by my specific motivation.
i love the editing in this one. Im more of a visual learner so im putting the body language pieces more together. love these guys, thank you for doin what you do!
I have watched her interviews, interrogation and trial so many times and I still learn something new about how crazy this woman is and how she really thinks people believe her. Just insane
I love that you are showing exactly what you are talking about with little broken-down clips of the body language like with the dupper's delighted smirk
This is the best breakdown pieces of this video . Scott, Mark, Chase & Greg all four of you are right on par with your individual expertise. Thank you for doing this special mini breakdown video. Mark is absolutely correct she doesn’t see the interviewer’s wide eyes and disbelief in her ! Her face showing no emotion whatsoever. IMO definitely guilty!!! Makes me think of Scott’s story about a guy walking by a tragic death of a child and the guy stops a second and looks at all the faces and walks away and says “ I think I’ll have Chinese food.”
I love the way this episode is edited! Showing what you’re describing at the same time, Chase’s dupers delight was fantastic I wouldn’t have caught that one, great episode guys! 😊
This is so informative, I try to watch every one of your videos guys! I had one question or request, can you do a video of an interview or interrogation of someone being accused of a crime that they DID NOT commit and what their body language clues were? Also did you guys ever watch the television series Lie To Me starring Tim Roth? I think this was where my interests in body language detection came to be, the series was amazing!
I thought in an earlier video, Scott said that show's character was based on him. I might be remembering that completely wrong so I hope they say something about it!
@@sary9495 really? I never knew that actually, if that’s true that’s so awesome! I loved that show, they need to bring it back hopefully with Tim Roth still in the lead character.
@@pseudoserenity4844 Oh I was wrong, I just looked it up and it looks like it was based on Paul Ekman, who I think these guys have talked about several times. So I'm sure that's who Scott was talking about.
Remember Greg saying the interrogation footage of her could be the entire Behavior Panel show. The Jodie Arias circus show. I can hartley wait for this one!
I only recently found out that travis was proven to have said some really disgusting things. Shes clearly a murderous sociopathic pig but the media and in our culture we tend to make the mistake of making victims of murder out to be saints because they were murdered. I was of the impression he was a great guy until recently as i said. He either texted etc her saying "you sounded like a 10 yr old girl having an 0r&asm". He also made some dumb choices because he knew and told people she was psycho but he kept in contact for sex only. None of what im saying is intended to justify or otherwise imply she isnt pure evil. He obviously didn't deserve to be murdered for any of the above but i cant stand how people irrationally feel that stating truths that show a person in a bad light, somehow takes away from them or means the act was justified. The truth is the only thing that serves a useful purpose and can help people understand what happened.
This was the first true crime story that I followed, it got me started. When the trial was happening, there was a part when one of his sisters had to be taken from the room, the sound of her sobs broke my heart, Jodi was sitting there 'looking pretty' for days I cried about that scene.
I wouldn't want to be her bunk mate because she's exactly the kinda gal who would poison you without blinking if you ever crossed her. It wouldn't even have to be something obvious or bad. She probably does have BPD but it's much more than that. She's also severely narcissistic and sociopathic. She's a constant danger to society. She would harm friends, partners and her future children. She probably did harm people in her past (stealing, harassing, maybe even past stalking), but her family covered for her. She should remain locked up forever.
sociopath isn’t a psychological term, so my (very informal) assessment is antisocial, histrionic and a psychopath. But i completely agree- she lacks many of the traits that make us human. Id be terrified to live with her
Have you all read "The Body Keeps the Score"? It is about trauma, but also talks about the brain's reaction regarding dopamine and exactly what you talked about in the brain pathways of someone lying for the dopamine boost.
Each one of you brings something different and interesting , guess that's why you're all together, just wanted to thank you all for your skills and time you must have put in to become so great at helping the average person see what you see .
So yall really think you can just put the same stuff out and we gonna be excited and watch it over again?! Cause you're 100% correct. I loved this one🥰🥰🥰
SCOTT!!!!!!!‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ Please keep this format.🙏🏼 I've been watching a long time now & this format helps bring everything home. Sorry I yelled your name. I'm just really passionate about this & I see I'm not the only one who feels this way. Lol Love you boys as ALWAYS!!! Congrats, Chase & your beautiful Bride on your Baby Girl!!!💕
Yay!!!! I just recently watched most of her interrogation and was happy to notice how transparently she fished for info - she wanted to see the photos they had soooo badly. I originally went to find it because of Mark once mentioning her standing on her head in the interrogation room lol I hadn’t seen that and had to look it up.
Love listening to Mark discuss the difficulties of learning left from right. I struggled with that well into adulthood. Finally my husband gave me a way to remember it. We used this with our daughter who struggled with dyslexia as well. He told me to imagine being behind the wheel of the car and think of where the lights and radio are located. It's left lights, right radio. Of course, that's only going to in countries with left-hand drive cars.
Please do a video about Rudy Farias and his mom! He was reported missing 8 years ago but has been living with his mom the whole time. People either believe he’s a victim who was drugged and held against his will or he was in on a scheme with his mom to get money for his disappearance.
She inadvertently confessed twice towards the end of this video - First, when she admitted she caused the victim's and her own family pain without mentioning Travis' alleged attack on her. Second, when she implied the only reason she wouldn't give herself the death penalty is that she doesn't believe in capital punishment. I think Jodi Arias is completely at peace with the fact that she murdered Travis, because she's permanently locked into the view that she was morally right to defend her narcissistic pride, and he was morally wrong to have cheated on her and ultimate rejected her. She's turned the unconditionally loving aspect of Christianity on it's head (as so many abusers and criminals are doing these days) in order to justify her own moral betrayals. To her mind, she's innocent regardless of the facts, and Travis is guilty regardless of what she did to him. No matter what, she's an angel with clipped wings and he's the devil who got what he deserved. In the final analysis, Jodi Arias is just an extreme version of a toxic, infantile narcissist who refuses to be held accountable for her actions, however immoral and destructive, while assuming the role of judge, jury, and executioner towards a love obsession who let her down.
Love this mini break down! It really makes me miss when Scott would show the behavior as it’s being discussed. It’s not always necessary but I know I’ll never be as good as catching micro expressions as you guys. The other reason I like when you do that is because after all four of you do analysis on each clip it’s hard to remember who said what and when. Maybe I’m alone in this but figured I’d put it out there. The perfect example of why referencing the exact behavior along with the video clip is Ted Bundy. You guys were able to catch an expression that haunts me to this day. He , just for a split second, shot this look at the interviewer that was 100% predatory. It moved me so much that I actually took a pic of it. Another great example was Richard Ramirez. That shot of how his face had one expression on one side and the other had a completely different expression. Chilling but super valuable as a viewer/panel member. Hopefully you’ll see this!
In Arias' police interrogation interview (not part of the clips here), she talks to the detective about "matching and mirroring" as part of sales training. In these clips, she demonstrates that she very much understood the value of doing it.
@@earth0128 so true. In one of her TV interviews she talks about getting booked, and she says "It's almost like it is on TV. It was so interesting." Her movie that she's living in is a twisted fantasy world of her own creation, where she has no culpability for anything. Sicko
@@kaymarham5486 agreed. She does it subconsciously, it is a horribly cunning borderline/narcissistic trait. Since she literally has no "self", she has to feed on others for an "identity". Remember "The Exorcist" when the demon/devil says "I am no one"? That's JA in my opinion. So demonic it's beyond description.
Guy, when you do a slow motion of every face expression you're talking about at the moment, it's very helpful and lets your viewers to learn the exact piece you're describing
Her composure is astounding As a psychotherapist I go into sessions (hopefully, I always make a point of it). I've worked with 'regular" clients as well as persons in jails and prisons and testified as an expert witness on many occasions. And, I've learned a great deal from you guys--thank you. While I agree or disagree I always back track and learn. On this case my agreement with you is total
I like when you do the video within a video things. It really helps to see what you’re talking about. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the world!
It would be awesome if you could redo your popular videos in this format - showing the footage in the background while you're talking about their body language as it's happening
@@washcaps71I think we need to be careful not to conflate the terms…they’re not interchangeable nor are they synonymous…I would tend to agree with the OP but not with your assertion that a narc will become physically violent upon being the recipient of narcissistic injury. There are many “flavors” of narcissism, including what i believe to be the most damaging form: the covert narcissist. The long term damage to the recipient of such confusing and manipulative behavior is a complete disruption of their ability to internally process the barrage of manipulative behaviors constantly wielded against them… The narcissist, in this scenario, will never use the same manipulative tactic twice in a row…which is wholly destabilizing for the target’s sense of themselves and their perception of the world around them. The victim/Target then learns to distrust their own judgments about others (and even their own) behaviors, and becomes dependent upon the narcissist to constantly help them understand the confusing world in which they live. This is why many narcissists (and other flavors of power hungry abusers) will often isolate their victims so that they have no other frame of reference for the messaging (which amounts to brainwashing in many cases) that the perpetrator insists is the reality of the situation. Scary stuff.
She says she can't imagine it, I think she means she doesn't need to imagine it. Isn't that a trait of sociopathy/psychopathy...they can easily disassociate?
Whatever you do, don't look at photos of Travis' injuries. Horrific. Absolutely horrific. I wish I hadnt seen them! 😩 What she did to that poor young man 😢 Self defence? No way! Not kidding anyone you crazy witch! Well done fellas! Love how you edited this one xxxx
Hey guys!! Please consider doing a BEST OF funny moments compilation 🎉🎉🎉!! We all would LOVE THAT!! ex: Mark saying: I wasn't finished shopping 🤣 I KNOW you all have tons of funny moments! 💜 You ALL 👏 keep bringing us the good stuff!!
That woman never once - ever - lost her cool, and that in itself is crazy. If someone falsely accused you of a "heinous" crime, you'd be furious. At least, I would. Her expression and her tone never changed once through all her interviews and trial. Constantly calm and cool. Even keeled. Creepy. She is a fascinating criminal . From afar. LOL Very afar.
It has to be more work to cut, but it is sooo helpful that you show the clip when talking about it! Thanks for that! And as a German, I would start counting with the thumb because that's our one, how we learn it from early on.
I do wish the interviewer pushed back when she said "was I lying when I said I wanted to die or am I lying now I want to live" because one has to be an untruth and I would have liked (not that I would have heard her admit) to hear her say she was just trying to look grief-stricken or penitent by saying she wanted to die.
I think she "didn't do the right thing right away because..." she needed to think to make the story right to get the strategy for the lies to fit. I had teenagers!
Omg when Greg and Scott do impressions, they are so funny!! 🤣😅 I enjoy seeing @TheBehaviorPanel have a good time when doing their analysis. Good stuff guys!
Greg- thank you for explaining ' borderline' as deriving from it's ' nearness ' to pathologies. You guys are educating the public in incredible ways. Thanks again.
Well fellas, that was a good one. Great editing! Made it so much easier for us viewers to see exactly what you're describing. I just gotta say, your format on this episode was the exact opposite of heinous!
Hey Mark. Say to yourself. You write with your right. Then being inconspicuous as possible mimic writing as you pay attention to the hand. Practice this and it will become second nature. Great videos 😊
