US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are at odds over their first head-to-head debate, with each in favour of a different broadcaster and date. The Harris campaign is pushing for a debate to take place on ABC News on 10 September, in a slot previously scheduled for a debate between President Joe Biden and Mr Trump. But Mr Trump says the ABC debate has been "terminated" by Mr Biden leaving the race - and has instead pushed for himself and Ms Harris to debate on Fox News on 4 September. The pair will face off for the presidency when the US goes to the polls on 5 November. The disagreement began after President Biden dropped out of the race on 21 July, with Ms Harris immediately becoming favourite to secure the Democratic nomination.

I am a Colorado Master Plumber since 1973 Telluride and in the construction trades, it was all about the lead guys getting together while looking at the print, and then proposing a contract to try to get the job. I see Trump as just one of the guys onsite, proposing "fixes" for the many issues that are a constant in any blueprint building contract. and sending out the right teams to finish it. As a plumbing sub contractor in early Telluride we saw the benefits of having really good lead guys around to keep their eye on the finished product. Trump is a great lead guy in the construction trades and he absolutely knows how to read a print and put together teams. We should give him the bid because his tract record of performance as a builder is exceptional, take out politics, just get her done.

I thought it had been proven that Trump was bad at business though? They calculated his wealth at 21 and increased it by savings interest (like a regular savings account) and this calculation came to a higher amount than his current wealth / worth. Therefore if he had just put his money in a savings account and had done nothing else, he would have been worth more today than he currently is with his "business dealings".

They forced the districts to reset the machines even though they supposed to stay the same for a minimum of 7 years. Why some districts had more ballots received than registered voters. And why does a significant portion of ineligible immigrants admit to voting.

@@eurekahope5310 The question is, if any of those claims are true, why wasn't any of the evidence supporting those claims presented with any of the court cases, all of which were rejected for total lack of evidence? And why did Rudy admit to having a lot of theories but no evidence? And why does the main group (Heritage Foundation) that has been so meticulous with auditing US elections for decades only have less than 1500 total verified cases of voter fraud uncovered over the entire time period?

Normally I'd accept at face value the analysis of this team. This case seems apples to oranges because Harris is in a comfortable chair in a one on one setting. Trump is in a TV studio with a 2 minute window to get a point across. He was asked a yes or no question whereas Harris was asked a softball open question. The pressures were vastly different so behaviours will vary.

I am *stunned* that Harris would say, "I've never been to Europe." That's bad enough - but you know what's worse? That she's never *been* to Europe! How is that even possible? How can someone who hasn't even been to Europe - and this is a lawyer, the daughter of a doctor and a professor - consider themselves qualified to represent the United States to the world? The first thought that came to mind was, "Where *else* haven't you been?" I can't make a good logical argument for why it seems so odd - maybe she's wildly well-travelled through Asia and South American (though I doubt it) - but it just seems, what's the word - sheltered? And she *handed* that fact it to the public. It's like saying, "You're right - I haven't been to the border (I don't have that firsthand experience) - and that's not all, let me list all the other ways in which I'm lacking the knowledge I should probably have..."

When she says, “I care about what’s happening at the border,” she shakes her head and lowers her chin, as if to protect her throat. It’s interesting that when she talks about caring for the border, she doesn’t point to herself when saying “we,” which suggests she’s not genuinely including herself. It seems like she’s trying to hide something by using “we” instead of directly expressing her own concern.

Odd that when the panel speaks of Harris they discuss her body language, but when discussing Trump they mainly talk about his use of language. I will agree he keeps his vocabulary simple. I've heard him slip and drop a 24 carat word when he's absorbed in his subject. He'll immediately catch himself and rephrase into common terms. Plain speech can be very powerful even in monosyllables, but I don't think Trump will ever be a Churchill or a Hemingway. He is more pragmatist than poet.

Right?! Remember "every vote counts!" Even votes imported from out of state and those who voted multiple times. Here in Michigan, the switched votes from Trump to biden, called it a glitch, mailed out unsolicited ballots to everyone and shipped in more after forcing out the poll watchers. Ohh and can't forget all the dead people that voted. Proof of citizenship, passport, birth certificate, ss card and address verification is a no brainer. And if they want drop boxes, then they need a guard at each box verifying.

@@dilafng , I actually appreciate it at times when I don't hate negative comments, because it brings issues to the surface where you can then debate it. If you're not lashing out in your response, sometimes you can give another food for thought. This is why good debates are necessary, and another reason why I would like to see a third candidate in the presidential debate. So we can catch the main candidates off guard without a rehearsed response to something they are expecting.

Like fox news, trump caved at the NABJ, he became very defensive and belligerent so much that his team had to end it. She hasn't avoided questions from the press, she just doesn't sit for propaganda networks like fox.
