A full body workout in the cheap? I will find the answer I’m sure and I should see a specialist… but for those in the know, watch my squats in the beginning and look at how much of a pelvic tilt I have left to right!!!! Holy shit!! What is that from and how to I fix that!?!?!? I would have never known with out the video @squatuniversity

Honestly man, your ankle mobility looks pretty good. I'm thinking 90/90s, 90/90 switches, The Frog position, and probably some glute medius, inner thigh,and hip hikes will do the trick. Single leg balance work, the shin box, and airplanes are a great place to start. 🤷‍♂️

@@Damin-Danger-Ledford great thanks for advice!!! I already do a few of those things in my warm up and stretching but I’m sure the others I’ve never even heard of (or maybe I made up my own silly name) will have some added benefits 🙏

@Skrappy_doos_kettlebells I don't doubt it. If there's one thing that is consistent about physical education, it's that every move has at least 4 different names. Lol. My hip shift, twist, tilt, and probably one or two other things, is a c result of the inability to fire my core on the left side. So I have weakness, imbalance, and crazy instability in the left hip, oblique, both rectus, QL, and diaphragm. Oddly enough the glute/hip flexor strengths are flip flipped as well. Lol. 1 thing at a time. 🤣🤣🤣

@@Damin-Danger-Ledford thanks for all that, I know I’m not alone lol… I’ve implemented some new stretches and mobility movements this week. I also, think I have some core and oblique instabilities even though I always over looked them because I thought I had a strong core.. I have the awareness to not overlook anything 🙏

Not technically a sandbag but weighs a lot as well, at least for me, I just sewed a sack together from outdoor fabric and put all of my old clothes, old sheets and old curtains in it all together. It's not 150lb, but you'd be supersized by just how heavy fabric is when bunched together. Great video!

That’s awesome I loveeee to hear the creativity!!! Who cares if it’s 15lbs or 150lbs!?!? Your exactly where you are supposed to be 🙏 now as for the weight of old clothes TRUST ME I know how heavy they are!! When filling a heavy bag or Thai “banana” bag they are filled with old shredded clothes… they are very heavy 💪🏼 Keep that brain and muscles going and so happy you found value in the video!!!

I’m doing the same thing! I’m a total beginner, marshmallow, and I’ve stuffed a bag with clothes so it’s a little over 50 lbs - just like one of my overstuffed suitcases I have to repack at the airport! 😂 Once I get the 50 lbs. down, I’m going to add books to increase weight gradually until I can add sand and then eventually pebbles. 😅

I'm getting a 50 pounder on payday! I have a 75 pound slater stone. This like you say is way more versatile. I like the awkwardness real training this and kettlebells give you.

So true a great bang for the buck for damn sure!! We are humans and we need variety, it’s one of the 6 human needs and sandbags are a great tool to base or add variety 🙏

Ten years ago, I discovered and made my own gravel-weight bag, around 33 KG. I loved it and damm could swing it around!!, only problem was it gave me tennis elbow, which impacted my sports hobby, and still occasionally flares up. So my advice for the weight bag is to enjoy, but be careful on how you swing it around

Yes they can be brutal on the body if not careful! My 150# bag teaches me many of lessons! I’m not completely comfortable with ballistic type movements with it just yet it’s body weight for me, actually more than body weight current day lol.. I use it more as a “grind” movement bag

Been working with my 30kg,40 and 50kg sandbags enjoying it 15,10, and 5 overhead jerk and throws followed by 1 minute skipping between sets looking forward to getting consistent with my 60kg so it's working

You have a really nice and minimalist home gym. You mentioned "functional" in the video, I want to ask if you have any thoughts on lower body strength using Sandbags vs Kettlebells, for eg 2 heavy-ish/32kg kettlebells for double front squats vs the 150 lb sandbag you have for front squats, for same sets x reps. Is the strength and hypertrophy gained the same in your experience ? Have you seen different benefits in everyday life from each modality ?

That’s a really really good question and I definitely don’t have enough data to provide a scientific answer to the back half of your question… what I can definitely answer is the difference between the two. 1. Load is load when it comes to the legs and bottom of your body, your legs dont know the difference 2. The top half of your body absolutely knows the difference lol 😂 32x2 is way more difficult than a 150# sandbag 3. In the real word for the functional part, you’re much more likely to bear hug someone and pick it up vs front or back squatting it.. Same premise of back squats, load goes way up and legs grow more, front squats with kbs load goes way down but core, shoulders, back, traps all have to be able to handles the load, they become the weak link… the sandbag is somewhere around in between in my opinion… Hope that helps! So I started with a duffel style bag and it wasn’t what I was looking for. I’d say start with 100lb and you can always add sand over time

That’s a really really good question and was a worry of mine as well awhile back! No they do not leak that are double bagged double Velcro then zippered then Velcro again!! So far so good but great question and appreciate the subscription and views it means a lot to me 💪🏼🙏💪🏼🙏

@@Thefringefitnessproject Good to know, I ended up ordering a 50kg deadball last night, I’ve wanted to have one for such a long time. Used to go to a gym that had a couple of medium heavy-ish deadballs and I loved the feeling of lifting them. Might go for a strongman type sandbag in the future!

@@Thefringefitnessproject Btw, if you want to bear hug the bag and get a really good grip on it, look into the wrestling grips. The Gable grip or palm to palm, and the butterfly grip or choked up palm to palm will let you connect your hands in a very strong way. It's using the same mechanics as the false grip on olympic rings, good thing to have in your arsenal!
